Thanks for taking the time to write this :) It was easily the most enjoyable editing project I remember, playing with legendary digital art is inspiring.
THANK YOU. Really surprised how well your remake is of our old demo. You put a lot of effort into this. Brings back very good memories from my youth. Really appreciate it...
Thanks a lot for sharing. I love the music of this demo. Great memories…. Is there anyone willing to sent me some of these great demos like this one on a disk?
That Kefren with the missing S..... forgot the dragon snak thing... their's BlizzArt's SNEAKY 'S' . BlizzArt's humor! (Reference point: 16min. 17 seconds into the video)
ruclips.net/video/elCP5LYynkE/видео.html This part doesn't render to full screen, and pixels also at least 2x2. Calculated area about 32*128 pixel, resized to 64x256. In my calculation it is about 34 cycle/pixel.
I see what is trying to be done by giving things a bit of a modern spin, but you've missed all the nuance that made this demo great. I'm sure the soundtrack is much better quality and the visuals a bit of a polish, but it no longer syncs with what is on screen and therefore doesn't have the impact of the original. The extra effects, some taken from other Kefrens demos, don't really add anything either. Now I was at the party where this was released and this unfortunately feels like you're punching your sacred grandmother in the face. It's good, but you have to be very careful when you mess with a masterpiece like Desert Dreams.
exactly... not to mention, a major part of what makes a demo awesome is the way that the visuals were made. For instance, the cube rendered with 10k dots rather than filled vectors loses all of its impact and importance in this video because the cube displayed at around 6:50 is a new one that doesn't even follow the original text. It's just a regular cube with some chromatic aberration and dots spinning around it... small details like that take a lot away from the experience because you're no longer looking at a feat of engineering and programming skills, but some random thing that didn't really take much effort to get running on the amiga. It basically defeats the purpose of demos in and of itself.
I really enjoyed this. Love the interleaving with Guardian Dragon 2. Thanks for creating it!

Feeling old being at the gathering 93 and seeing the debut live 🙈 & now looking this
You’re not alone. This was the first demo I watched on my A1200 after selling my A500 to get it.
16:15 - Don't worry. The S isn't missing - it's right there.
A classic demo that is still so badass, thx for this mix man ❤

Zoomrotator is *NOT* in 320x256 resolution. It is about ~25 times less, just count pixels on a still frame.
Check. Thanks for correcting the brainfart :D

is there a stand alone animation of 12,000 dots that can be used on an amiga as a standalone demo?
I can't imagine there is. If you want that part as a standalone video file, I am happy to make it for you. No executables tho, sorry. :)
That was a awesome tribute. Also "We didn't get laid very much" kind of reminds me of how many girlfriends I blew due to the scene 😄
which plateform this remix run on , still amiga 500 ?
Don't forget DD part III (imho) : ruclips.net/video/gsb7LMPCEhc/видео.html

I'll stay at the original version.
Nerds!

This is a perfect example of less is more... I know where this is going but it makes no difference really so what is the point ?
One of the worst Amiga remixes! Original soundtrack by Laxity is phenomenal!
