😂 watching from France..Vous travaillez avec de l'humour et vous avez de l'amour dans votre boulot..Good video with good explanation and slowly but sure. MERCI Monsieur..Thanks Sir..
Bold fix! Great job! I’m having the same problem…on a 2010. My granddaughter’s car. I see a little minor crash damage on that area of the bumper…could have resulted in damage to the electronics…we’ll see! Thanks for posting
i think you may have hit the capacitor with the scrapper when separating lucky you never done the new one, is there a reason why you never used the full new unit
@swapmaster General Hi good sir, been watching as I have a similar problem in my VW Fox 1.2. This is rather unrelated, but you point out at 14:16 that there is a capacitor or something, that is bend and not attached to the circuit board and believable so as it's in fact xD broken off. However, I noticed as you were disassembling the unit, that you were using a hammer and a prying tool to split them apart, and it could look like you actually hit that exact part from hammering the prying tool too far into the unit. - Milo
Also, the noisy one, what kind of noise was it making? I own a 2013 ford focus mk2, similar if not same engine aparently, the pump is super loud, but it it seems to be the electric motor not the pump itself thats making the loud whining high pitched sound, oil is fine, so its not cavitation or foam,
NIce work on the video and troubleshoot! I think the cap may have been damaged when the haves were split with the putty knife?? Dunno.. it was definitely the problem component! Nice work!
I got a 2006 mazda 5 van, my power steering went out when i made a sharp turn going about 5mph, have you ever heard of that happening, im i have not lost fluid, got that light on the dash, a orange steering wheel.
That’s exactly what happened to my 2014 Honda Accord, made a very sharp turn and the steering went out but mine is electric steering not power steering.
Nice video, do you know if the engine in your Mazda is the same in ford ford fokus mk2? (european-south american versions), it was branded as duratec 2.0 HE in that ford focus car, and I know for certain that is a mazda engine, im just not sure if its the exact same.
Having intermittent problems with my 2007 where light comes on and steering is heavy but usable not completely dead after hitting bumps. I feel confident after seeing this video tho
@@Devo1987 some of the wiring to the pump was damaged and barely connected by a few strands. I re did the wiring and the light went away after a couple hundred miles and has not come back. The Mazda power steering service manual has a straight forward way of checking the harness with voltage checks under the steering wheel
Hey The video was super helpful for me. Im new to working on cars but I have a Mazda 3 as my everyday driver. Im replacing the power steering pump but Midas told me I will need to go to the dealership to get the part programmed. Is this true or will it function just fine? Can I program it myself?
Why does it say electric power steering, ? Isn’t it either power steering or electric steering? Because I know mine doesn’t have a pump? IT’s electric. I’m confused
Originally power steering uses a mechanical pump with gears, electric assisted power steering uses motherboards to assist in pumping the fluids, if you have a Mazda 3 like his or car with a same engine, more than likely you have this pump, Google doesn't help when you search for it

You dimpled that capacitor when you hammered that scrapper into it.. 14:15

Make sure the battery terminals are tight no loose connection

Did you have to reprogram or adapt the the power steering after the new pump was installed, or did you just swap them and fire it up?
I have this issue in my ford and I've heard that epas needs reprogramming does it?
14:00-14:06 Yu was the reason is broke when Yu use that plate tool to get in the cracks 😂😂😂 lmaoo Yu an good mechanic but watch out for mistake 😂😂😂
