Cool bike, but to a lot of people chain maintenance gets old if you actually ride a lot and ride in all weather. (Yes, I know adventure bikes are often chain-drive, but that is a different market segment). If targeting Harley, a belt drive would be helpful.
Agree completely. I have a 107 Fat Bob and love it, but this Honda is a temptation...except for that chain. I have a warrantee issue coming up with the condensation building up on warm sunny days at the bottom of the cluster. As long as I don't get any grief from Harley on this I'm staying with the Fat Bob. Otherwise, that Rebel is looking real nice.
I'm waiting for the day where we no longer need to maintain are chains all the time. Didn't someone make a chain like that? Though from what I understand its not wide spread yet.
I have 13,000 miles of complete neglect on my Xring chain. Chain maintenance is overrated in my personal experience. Chain maintenance got old for me too so that’s the path I took with my current chain 😆

Great Review Adam! I must say I love this engine with it's 270 degree crankshaft. It would be a natural move up for someone that has a 500 Rebel as you said. But! Honda just may have something.
Did Adam discuss the Honda 1100's competition? I'd love to know his thoughts on the Indian Scout and HD 1200 bikes compared to the Honda 1100. If you were going to buy one of the 3 - Honda Rebel 1100, HD 1200 or Indian Scout - which one would you purchase? Thanks, Adam.
Thanks!! Another great video Adam!! I will definitely need to test ride a Honda Rebel 110 with DCT and with the conventional transmission to compare. @@RialuCaos It would make sense to put it on 300 or 500 as they are lighter.
@@WhenBoredomStrikesChannel yea but they lack the power to go hard already. Add more weight and you got heavy and super slow.
Need a bike that does trips and has good wind protection and pannier racks.. wish we could have seen a fairing model
Wouldn't that be the CTX700 DCT? I guess it does not have the same amount of power. Your right
It's coming
Getting me one, this bike is amazing, lots of extras, lots of bike for that price, and it is Honda
4:41 try installing a 2-2 true dual exhaust without crossover, with one pipe each side, and you'll have what you wish for. 😍👍
This, Triumph Bobber, and Indian Scout/60 give people some interesting choices within a few thousand
Waheed! You are my favorite moto journalist ever! But, where are the twisties? opening it up on the highway? Where's the obligatory wheelie!? You even wheelied the 500! Can you redo this review without the DCT and give it one of your standard reviews? I've been waiting so long to see you do one of your standard reviews on one of these. You're still my favorite.
Seems like an all-around very comfortable little cruiser
With the DCT, is there a way to free rev to get attention of ppl around you without having to honk?
Would you characterize it as a accommodating step up from the 500cc? If someone was getting back into motorcycles after many years and had been looking at the Rebel 500, would you consider this 1100cc version easily managed?
The 1100 is easily managed. Using rain mode cuts back power by a lot, for those who prefer that.
This Good Bike Not to Heavy to, may Be a Option 4 me, Lol if economy Turns Around. As it Stands CycLes... Don't make much Sense With $5.00 + Gas, as They Did@ $2.00, Lol.
Excelente y completísimo análisis. Congrats!!
I wish these reviews would mention a few more things. Is there a center stand? Does it come with a tool kit? What kind of valves and what's the valve check/adjust interval? No center stand on a chain driven bike is a deal breaker for me. Surely there's time in a 23 minute video to mention those things!
@Mark I agree with the need for shaft drive instead of a chain. Either way, a center stand should be included, or at least available as an accessory.
They need to make a tracker version of this. There was some blueprints going around for a tracker style months back. THAT would be sweet!
There's also a plan for a supercharged one. Not sure if it's for this one or the Africa Twin.
How about a street fighter with this engine?
My man!! I would watch you giving a review on a turtle!! Another great vid...
Great review of the Honda Rebel 1100cc cruiser!👍
For some reason this just makes me want Honda to bring back the Valkyrie 😭
I accidentally came across a Valkryie in a parking lot while out motovlogging on my ZX-14R a couple of years ago, and had a nice chat with the owner. Valkyrie's are a special bike, for sure.
why wish when there are ton of unsold Valkyries under 10k
@@rubensahak9178 would like a more modern version. Love the classic, was my dads favorite bike and I grew up riding on his. I’m honestly not into cruiser bikes But a modern Valkyrie with the current 1800cc flat 6 would be a dream for me, probably only cruiser ide buy
@@toofastnobrakes F6B / base Goldwing is basically a modern Valkyrie, right?
@@ntdscherer kind of, but I want that classic cruiser style with more modern tech and amenities
great video! the more I see .... the more I want one. Honda had a Honda-Matic tranny back in the 70's, it looks like they have it down.
Love this motorcycle and every last thing about it 😎
Great video. Not a cruiser guy but I would love to ride one of these.
Technology, refinement, reliability and a great value for money !
Wish it looked better !
Can’t have everything
It still looks like a 300cc , the engine is bigger but im 6'2 and i think i would feel more comfy on the Vulcan s
@@tonimula1182 Yes.. Vulcan S with Extended Reach - I own a Vulcan S..
I agree. I'm forcing myself to like the styling. Much prefer the look of the Vulcan S
Excellent review. Thank you.
Can’t quite put my finger on it but this video lost my interest rather quickly considering this is a very interesting motorcycle.
I think the ride and the guy talking doesn't do it for me.
Technical correction: IMU does not give "positional awareness". It gives orientational awareness.
Hiding the wires INCREASES the disassemble difficulty.
Was so looking fwd to, i am wishing you and michael both did one!
The electronics are amazing! I drive a Royal Enfield. I have one of those fancy headlights so you can drive at night.😂
Hey sometimes that's all you need haha.
If Royal Enfield makes a Continental GT 1000 with a bigger parallel twin it could be a good competitor to this.
I’m on a stupid meeting just waiting to push play!!
Good solid review brother 👍
Is Honda aware that there are other colors in the universe besides black and burgundy?
Money.
They know when they sell their bikes people are just gonna custom them anyway.
And they right
@@saigonrider most people will just put on an exhaust and ride it.
Love the Rebel 1100💯👍🏽 Strange to watch Adam ride a few hundred feet from my house in Murrieta🏍
Nice job! My wife’s black DCT to replace her Rebel 500 is supposed to show up any day now. Now I just gotta sell that 500!
Perfect bike for me . I have my left leg injured and my left hand injured . So it’s just like a scooter? Twist and go ?
Looks like Honda has taken the Harley Davidson sportster design and brought it into this century!
Just copycats with more ponnies. Nothing beats a raw motorcycle. Electronics are a joke.
Awesome review 👏
Waheed. Love the review. We need to get you some Guerilla Glue Gel my bro. Love the channel.
Great Review Adam! I must say I love this engine with it's 270 degree crankshaft. It would be a natural move up for someone that has a 500 Rebel as you said. But! Does it really fit into the traditional cruiser market? I would have to say no. The traditional cruiser market is and has always been dominated by Vee Twins. Although it does have several things going for it. Price, Honda reliability along with good looks and sound. I would stick with a manual transmission but DCT could be a big plus for some. Honda just may have something.
I Love not shifting gears...just ride...twist & go is great
@@robertsalyers1351 Thanks! Love it!
Now if it had the ergos for a 6 foot plus rider... dct option sounds cool especially for commuting.
Don’t forget Triumphs offerings. They make every version of motorcycle you could ask for.
Harley 883 killer all day
Not just the 883
1200 killer
It'll eat a Sportster's lunch no matter what model it is.
I’d take a sportster over this any day
Thorough review. Thanks.
Honestly if I were to get a cruiser It would either be the rebell 1100 or the Indian scout
The question is will they make a cb1100 X. Would be great to upgrade my 500x to that.
This is so nice. I wonder what Honda will do with the Shadow line if this 1100 takes off...
I'm sure they'll just keep selling them as long as people keep buying them.
Thanks!! Another great video Adam!! I will definitely need to test ride a Honda Rebel 110 with DCT and with the conventional transmission to compare. I'm used to using the friction zone on conventional motorcycle transmissions for slow speed manoeuvres. Just curious... How is the slow-speed manoeuvring with the DCT?
He's a rebel and he'll never,never be any good🎶
