It’s so nice to c a person upstream nymph. Some think a euro rig is the only way now days. I use both ways depending on conditions. I think if you took the euro rig and heavy beaded nymphs away from even some top competition fly fisherman they’d be lost on a trout stream. Great content, thanks!!!! Really enjoying your channel!!
Awesome video and great day to be out and catching them trout George, nicely done mate, thumbs up and greetings from New Zealand Trout boys in down under,, Tony.
I don't really have a preference as regards soles, and I've tried almost all makes of boots and none of them last much more than a season, so on that score I don't tend to be too particular.
You can't feel the takes using this technique,it's all visual.Any indicator would scare off every fish in the area in such low water, and you'll never get good at this method if you use an indicator.Leader is typically around 12-14 feet.
@@springerspanielful so when you say visual, your mean watching your leader for sudden movements, cause i tried nymphing and the small ones i caught i was nearly recasting and found them on rather than , hooking them myself, i just want to know am i missing loads cause they just spit it out , cause im not striking them
@@springerspanielful thanks , if you ever want to give lessons, i would be up for it, i have a river across the road ,caught minnows only this year, but would love to have your skill, practice practice, practice i think
Watch as I catch wild spooky trout on the deadly upstream nymph.

Greetings to you too, tight lines from Tipperary.
Daycent video George!
Thanks Vinnie.
do you have any opinion on using jig hooks for bead head nymphs?
A hook is a hook, jig or otherwise,I don't put too much heed in what kind they are, they all serve the same purpose at the end of the day.
George your vid's are getting better and better. You should be working for the tourist board. PS is that some kind of trap at 1302. From Cork
Thanks Martin,it was formerly an eel trap, long defunct now.
How do you feel the takes, do you use an indicator, and what length leader do you use,
