He's so smart and I'm so proud I'm the fan of such a great band as A-ha and of such a great singer as Morten! They were never in any kind of scandal or drug abuses, they were always funny and charming and kept making real music for the heart. People with good taste in music listen to them and feel every word and tune. Love them forever!

I just love how deep his mind is. The answers he gave was not sugar-coated and I respect that.

The most honest ever pop idol interview from the smartest guy.

This is such an interesting interview. It really shows Morten as a thinker and a person with good values and moral principles....as one of them once said, all three of them were "very reluctant pop-stars" and I think it really shows also in this interview. Morten comes across as a very modest man, very down to earth when it comes to the hysteria that was surrounding him especially....Thanks for uploading this, I would have loved to see the whole of the conversation though.

This interview is very intriguing for me. And strangely, this is making me fall in love with him even more. I really respect him for stating his opinions on the sexualisation of his identity by the media.
We need to keep in mind that when it comes to Morten Harket , he does not have a pin point personality. He can be humorous, satirical, sassy and also a gentle and a honest human being. He was really straight forward in this interview, but as we can see that -- he thinks and talks at the same time resulting in scattered sentences.
Strangely enough, I love him for his way of being honest with his thoughts and values. He's soo far away from being a cliche ridden person.
He may have not written most of the words he sang in a-ha, but when we hear the way he sings -- he was giving life to those words. In other words, he does mean it when he sings tenderly. It takes a lot of understanding and depth to sing such sophisticated songs.
In every band, it's never about who contributes the most or least. It's about collaboration. Each of the band member is competent in their skills. We can't imagine a-ha without them.
I feel even more glad to see this side of him. It takes years to understand a person like him and that's perfectly alright ❤️

such a class act refusing to portray scantily clad/naked ladies in the video; maintaining the innocence of the song.

As if he’s just a average looking man ... he’s so humble he probably was unaware of girls around him growing up. All three are so talented but so much more so now their work is intelligent not predictable.... thanks again for the upload

I think this is going to be my favorite interview of him. It's nice to see him in ah-ha beginnings, yet being so mature in his thoughts. First time watching this.

She had him really fired up in the beginning, he's usually so laid back. I just love listening to him talk, that voice. It's always so interesting to hear his perspective on things. I was so glad to see they stood up for themselves and their vision not to cooperate with that other concept for a video with the "Lightly clad women"

I have been a lifelong fan of Morten Harket, and so proud that all 3 band members were Knighted with the 1st Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav for their tremendous artistic achievements.
As a teenager, I sang, “...And You Tell Me”, for my audition for the local Alaskan opera production of “Camelot”.
“The Sun Always Shines On T.V.”
was their best masterpiece, in my humble opinion.
The instrumental version was the theme music for my own Wedding.
My favorite band of all time, and the same for my Dear Son,
    Sanjay Arman Kumar II
    Best Wishes to their futures:
    ~ Dr. Sanjay Kumar

I love how intelligent he is but one thing i have to correct is that he really is that attractive.... he isnt a regular man.... but i agree that most front men are idolized i agree but in this instance he really in one of the most beautiful men I’ve seen (just a personal opinion I know) incidentally their music is superb and the combination is wonderful for a fan who has both aspects fulfilled - i was 14 and was a very happy a-ha fan bc of it. Still am!

Yes!!! I don't think her really knows how gorgeous he is, and the perfect voice, and personality. Another correction I must add, to the perceptions, here, is: it wasn't totally the producers' and the record company playing up his assets, although that did happen. But it would have happened automatically, regardless, because he is one of those guys, that has it all that we girls are really looking for in a man, and is so scarce out there. We most of us, any way! want the gorgeous guy, being able to sing to us romantically, his perfect physique, hair, gorgeous voice and vocal abilities, sense of humor, musician, etc, etc, right, ladies???? He just has to stand there and sing, and create. The record company and the producers didn't really have to do, anything!!! He's just that unique and special!! And this goes for all 3 of them, for sure!! What a miracle!!!

You know, something strikes me as curious, though. He puts out these romantic lyrics - they are his creation, maybe from his own experience, maybe not. And presents it to the public - with music - and he wants his music listened to and appreciated. And he identifies with his music and musical output - he likes that fans like it - otherwise, he would have no career. Yet he cannot identify with the public being enamored by his good looks and by his personality and his being as a whole. That's not "him" we are in love with. Yet, it is every bit of "him" as his songs are "him." It's just his unwillingness to accept that. I suppose for the sheer volume of it being flailed at him. He'd go batty and mad if he took it all to heart. You would think he'd be grateful to his public, which he always seems to be in concert, but in interviews, the idea that people at madly in love with him is not seen in any positive light. I suppose he doesn't want to encourage it. After a while it comes off as kind of unsavory. What do you mean the you i am enamored with is not you? Who is it? You are responsible for it in some capacity. What would it mean to him to actually own people's adoration? He's very much a "thinking" man in interviews and in songs he's sensual love and romance. "Her skin is like velvet...her face cut from stone...so i went to her home..." Then you hear that in his personal relationship with Inez they never say I love you or romantic words to each other. To be affectionate, he says something like, "oh, shut up, you silly cow." LOL! I am glad i don't know that side of him because i couldn't stand for that. Nor could i stand for him constantly being away on tour with women flailing themselves at him and having to share him with a mad about him public. It would cause such insecurity to be his partner, i would think. anyhow, he is a wonder alright.

I am totally in line with that. His songs and his interviews are often totally at odds with each other. And here I'm talking especially about the ones he's written. It's gotten to a point where I look up who wrote what just to double check on what my instincts are telling me. :-) eg Velvet may not be the best example as Pal wrote it, but songs like The Wake and half the Brother album sound just too true. Somehow, the songs feel more like the truth than the interviews do. They make my hair stand up.
      Because if they are true...

It’s mostly Påls words actually, most of the ‘cheesy’ stuff especially. He took part in writing the music but the lyrics are almost all coming from Pål. If you listen to his own songs he wrote in the 90s, they are very different and barely ever romantic.

WOW....This is really true. I have been feeling this in my heart, about Morten, and unable to put it into words. This is like a secret window into his heart. Beautifully said, and I now understand him much better, having my feelings and inclinations expounded into words. Very amazing observation and being able to elaborate it.

He looks like he was in a bad mood, must have had an argument with his wife. Why did he keep talking about the gay stuff. Nobody ever thought they were gay and I never ever even thought that bout them. I always felt sorry for pal being the ugly guy in the group.

5:10: "It helps not to have a sexual relationship".
Yeah, right. Even in his own biography one can read that he was definitely together with Camilla at the time.
This man has lots of things to hide, and he manages really well to hide them, better and better with the years. Except when he starts songwriting. When he does that , most of what he writes just rips the carpet from under my feet and I have to start all over trying to grasp who in the seven hells he actually is.

sox ofthefox I think he was referring to the band touring together for so long...”it helps not to have a sexual relationship”...meaning wirh any of the band members. That is my reading of this remark.
