Oooh Ann Patchett told me about Tom Lake before she started it because it takes place near where I live. She sent me a postcard to tell me about it. State of Wonder is my favorite fiction book by her!
ahh i loved this video so much!! love hearing people’s favorites. re: books: i who have never known men is a favorite for me too!! i am so mad at myself bc i missed my hold for welcome to the hynam-dong book shop..so i need to put my hold back on for it bc it sounds like something i would absolutely love. tom lake is also one i’ve been meaning to read!! might have to give it a go this summer re: tv: i still need to finish baby reindeer…it’s so good but oof got to a part that’s really tough but i do want to finish! & i’ve never watched derry girls but lately i’ve been thinking about starting & you’ve convinced meeeeee re: music: I AM ALSO LATE ON THE CHAPPELL ROAN TRAIN BUT SO HAPPY TO BE HERE NOW. seeing her live was the best time too 😭 re: skincare: i finished my moisturizer & bought the dynasty cream and i am loving it. this has worked soooo well for my dry skin so thanks for the recco!!! also welcome to the baggu world girly!!!!!! it’s my fav place 😂
awww rae!!! thanks so much for shouting me out what the heck!! 🥹 so happy you also made the jump to booktube & love your videos so much & i hope in the future we can meet irl at some point!!
Yes to all of these btw! Completely get you re baby reindeer it’s very heavy stuff 😢 - you NEED to watch Derry girls! It’s so funny. Ugh I’m so jealous you got to see Chappell live! All here shows are sold out over here so I’m just hoping I can get a resale last min. So glad you love the dynasty cream too, it’s probably the most hydrating moisturiser I’ve used that doesn’t leave the skin oily! 🥰
I recently discovered your channel and I absolutely love it your videos are amazing and your vlogs are like my comfort videos. You’re just so funny and I love your personality! ❤
Omg thank you so much! This means a lot to me 🫶 especially as someone who finds comfort and joy in so many other creators works 😭 so so glad to have you in our little community 💕
Oooh corking selection of books. Coco was fab, I was addicted to I Who Have Never Known Men and devoured it in two sittings. Incredible. I’ve still not read any Joan Didion and I really want to. Nathan’s Nook raves about her. Challengers became my personality. I saw it four times at the cinema. Banging music pics 💃🏻🪩 Another shout out, he’s deceased again. With your love of Didion and Bagu I think you’d love Nathan’s Nook!
🥰 glad I’m not the only one who was on the challengers hype! Although you win seeing it 4 times! I think play it as it lays is a good place to start with Didion. Gonna check out Nathan’s nook at your suggestion 😊
I opened youtube to put on some background music for reading but I saw you uploaded this video so I had to watch it straight away because ~priorities~ I also really loved "I who have never known men", such an interesting little book. "blue sisters" and "funny story" were both already on my tbr and thanks to you might have moved up the list 👀
I was so sad with her reaction! I followed the monthly calendars religiously, bought merch & even did a few paid live zoom classes. So I was quite shocking to see her response to a simple question regarding something to important. She is still to this day deleting comments from her posts that mention it, and someone told me she deleted ‘ally’ from her bio and deleted an instagram highlight called ‘allyship’. Super disappointing because I had so much respect for her. But I suppose it’s business first for her.
For tv show, I really think you should watch the interview with the vampire, it is so good, my partner never read the books and he still really enjoys it. Season two is almost done. I can not recommend it enough.
Do you listen to This American Life? I would recommend that. They usually have a theme every week and there generally are a few different segments related to the theme. It's informative, funny, serious and interesting.
Your reviews are just 🤌 Love your tv picks ofc. I was addicted after watching The Prisoner, like I almost couldn’t deal with it being over! Wish I made the time to watch more films, was very inspired by you to prioritise the solo-cinema experience more in the future though. Oooo, we love a miscellaneous add-on (and basic bitches) 😉 And love that you watch Khadija Mbowe too!
Thanks Friend 🫶 I used to watch films a lot more at home, but in all honesty I don’t watch them much unless I make time for them which is why I love going the cinema. Definitely take yourself out on a solo cinema trip! If you’re nervous, maybe go earlier in the afternoon if you can because it’s usually quieter 😊
@@whatraereads love that rec! Thanks girl 😘 I’ve done loads of solo-travelling, preferably actually, but when I’m home I just don’t really go out on my own
@@cecilialau_ I really want to do some solo adventures outside of the UK (but that is something that makes me anxious lol) - it's definitely something i want to try and experience soon :)
I loved play it as it lays, it was melancholic and complex
Such a gorgeous book!
@@whatraereads It is still often on my mind, i want to re-read it soon

Love your videos - and the cherry on top for me was the Buffalo Bill shout out. What a scene! What a tune!
Thank you! I feel like a weirdo telling people I love the song from that scene lollll, but I can’t help that it’s a banger! What a film

if you're looking for a good show to watch, s2 of amc's interview with the vampire has been, hands down, the best tv i've watched this year!
Thank you for the rec! I’ve actually seen a few people on film twitter raving about it too. I’ll give it ago 🫶
it's honestly so good! s1 on is on bbc iplayer and s2 will probably make it's way there in the next few months also :) hope you enjoying it! x
