The 1070 is still going strong, definitely not Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I was actually amazed how well the 1080Ti performed until a year or two ago when I got rid of it. @@ATribeCalledCars for me, casual gamer @1080p - its more than enough. And I play mostly Snowrunner or ATS or some older title, like GRID ( love the first game). Heh, the classy Willis movie and the "red botton" scene. It was ( and Is still) a fun movie to watch time to time. With some Die Hard as desert 😁
That's a ridiculously high price tag that I feel can't be justified without literally doing a combination of gaming/recording/streaming/rendering for a living. I spent less than half that on an RTX 2080 in early 2019 and I'm still kinda regretting the decision; not because the performance has been bad (it's been very good), but because of just how much money it was, with less expensive cards having a much higher performance:price ratio. I'm definitely glad this card is working well for you though, I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you for the kind words! The 20-series and 30-series did seem quite expensive for a while, especially at peak crypto mining. I think it really is a value decision based on wants, needs and haves (like all purchases). I have yet to see anyone regret a 4090 but it depends on your disposable income and how seriously you take PC gaming as a 'hobby'. Or if you simply want to play games and care little about aesthetics! Pound, dollar etc to frame-rate, the 4090 is pretty decent. Though I think a 4070 Ti is high-end enough for most gamers. It can cope with modern games at high resolutions and has DLSS 3, which I suspect will be increasingly necessary as games get more advanced and developers get less savvy, lazy or subject to more time constraints for optimisation.
Money's one of those funny things that means different things to different people. As I see it, many of my friends spend vast amounts of money on their cars/motorcycles/boats and one of my pals actually has a small 4 seater plane of some description.. Every few months, he spends more just flying and maintaining / storing it than my entire rig costs... I figure that since I don't have expensive tastes (not into fashion/art/fancy cars) I can put money into my gaming PC which brings me and my family a lot of joy. I blame the crypto craze for showing those companies what people were prepared to pay for their cards and that adjusted the market upwards, permanently. It would have come back to bite them had the AI craze not come along to replace Proof of Work crypto.

You have NO WARRANTY with ZOTAK if you buy from anyone used, secondhand, online bidding, etc. You ONLY have a warranty if you are the ORIGINAL PURCHASER. Gifted from a friend or parent? THEY must be the point of contact for registering and for warranty. First AND ONLY original purchaser has a warranty. The warranty is NOT transferrable! I JUST bought a brand new SEALED card (this exact card type) and found all this out when I opened it and then went onlline to register it for warranty. Original buyer gets 3-year warranty. They sell the card months later because they cannot finish the build, then the next owner GETS NO WARRANTY AT ALL! Pretty hard to swallow.****
This is true, even in the UK the warranty is non-transferrable from the original owner. I believe the Nvidia FE cards are also tied to the owner, unlike other brands that are tied to the serial number. Zotac makes sense to buy from if you plan to keep your card either long enough to not sell or to sell it beyond its warranty.
That's illegal in my country. As long as you have a receipt, brands must honor the warranty, and in most cases, you don't even need a receipt for warranty purposes. If your ownership is non-transferable, you don't own a product but rent it indefinitely. And if buying is not owning, a receipt as proof of product purchase is also meaningless, which is against the law because "buying/purchasing" is defined differently from "renting/leasing" in the law itself. Where are you from? Is this practice against your country's consumer protection law?
@@namtrieunguyen7630 I am in the US. And it is not illegal. They posted it on their website. It was very disappointing for me. This item still sits in the box on the shelf. I had never heard of this either until I contacted them to register it. It has nothing to do with non-transferrable ownership, but a non-transferrable warranty. I am still at a loss for words about this. The product could be 100 percent defective and I would be at a total loss. It is not good business for a manufacturer of such a high-end product.

@@DETERMINOLOGY That is the way I saw it. Big upgrade for a number of years. It's the modern-day 1080Ti, should be good for a fair few years and we are maxing out on resolution. I can't see 8K catching on for the mainstream and games technology should help optimise plus we are pretty close to realism visually. Or, at least, as good as we might want it to be, but that is a whole another subject!
@@ATribeCalledCars Exactly. Totally worth it
My fans on mines which are brand new are making weird noises at 90 plus speed
I would get an RMA, I have no noise on my fans at any speed.
wait so u cant control the rgb with Signal RGB?
That's what I was wondering as well.
@@Hervinbalfour no, signal rgb doesn't support zotac 4000 series cards
@@misterdrez thanks!
@@Hervinbalfour yeah it's annoying but i think it's cause of how they have a special argb port onboard.. who knows
Yeah probably something propietary unfortunately, shame as the Zotac software is not great for RGB though there are tricks to make it play ball.
4K racing sim capped at 60? No wonder it stays cool and quiet the thing barely get's used , watch the power spike when you finally use it! lmao
Oh I'm sure it will but 4K 60 is much more common than 4k 120 and beyond. But then if maxed out Cyberpunk is still cool and quiet then I have nothing to worry about. 3D tests were not an issue. Had the fans at 100% - it's a silent card.
A price of a fortune without real performance without ai trickery... Fantastic... 😒👏👌
I rarely use DLSS and still get the best gaming performance of all GPUs, I'd say to some that it is worth it.
Thanks
Super kind of you, wishing you well! Always appreciated.
I am putting go faster stripes on my card so i will not need a RTX 4090.
Go-faster stripes are the answer to everything. I would still be able to eat food if I had got them instead of this GPU.
8k monitor is 2 times the price off this 4090
Crazy. Not sure 8K is really worth it given the ridiculous performance needed and the pixel density/typical viewing distance.
But can it play Crises ? LOL
Lol the original benchmark. Now it's probably Cyberpunk!
Probably =yeah.... And it can lol.@@ATribeCalledCars
Just got mines for $500
Super cheap!
@@ATribeCalledCars yea gave the guy a Xbox one s and $500 best thing I ever did another man’s trashed is another man’s treasure

****You can ONLY purchase this card NEW FROM A ZOTAC DEALER.
This card is trash. Me and my buddy both got it. Within a year both of us had to RMA it because of crashing and artifacts. I can't speak for my buddy, but I never did any OC on it.
Never again Zotac!
Mine is still perfect more than a year later, use the warranty. Any card can fail.
@@ATribeCalledCars I did get my money back. But two of them failing the exact same way is bad sign
@@falagarius A refund after how long? Which retailer?
@@ATribeCalledCars After 1 Year. Its digitec from Switzerland
@@falagarius I don't know Swiss consumer law but that's super generous! It's a shame you know of two cards with issues but both could be from one bad batch in that area. Maybe just unlucky.
