    Thank you for this video! I haven't seen tape extensions that was literally like a persons natural hair before. They always had to manipulate them in some way to blend it. But yours were perfect. If you ever decide to start a hair growth journey, atleast you know what it could potentially look like if you decide to grow it long. 💕

    Soooo…im gonna need a follow up on this please Sis. Cause in 6 weeks with that much growth, and with uncombed tangled roots i know there was at least some shedding after the whole process of removing the tapes, washing out the oil and brushing out the tangles. I want to know what actually came out, not just that no hairs were still stuck to the tapes. I hope its going well cause the tapeins look AMAZING on you and i wanna try them when im done with my protective styling challenge.

    • @LovelyBryana
      @LovelyBryana  2 года назад +11

      I feel like I had normal shedding, maybe a tiny bit more because of the tangles but definitely nothing drastic. The amount of hair in the tape-ins is so small, It’s really just really thin strips of hair that wasn’t getting released during the 6 weeks, so the rest of my hair was still getting detangled with every wash day. And the only section that had really tangled roots were the ones in the back. The ones higher up weren’t bad. Hope that helps! 💕

    • @swankylocs1161
      @swankylocs1161 2 года назад +15

      With tape ins, when applied correctly there aren’t tangled roots because they are supposed to be applied close to the scalp. When my clients hhave about an inch of new growth, which is typically at about 6-8 weeks, i will remove them completely, treat their hair. Then i will reapply tape onto the tape ins and reinstall them. The tape is 100% water proof and again if applied correctly and if there is a good attachment, the tape ins should not slip during the course of you wearing them.

    Do you prefer this over clip ins

    • @LovelyBryana
      @LovelyBryana  2 года назад +6

      Yes! I hate taking the clipins in and out because my hair frizzes really easy so I sleep in them most of the time and I know that’s not really good. But theses allowed me to get more wear out of them if that makes sense. And because my hair is fine I can’t slick my hair with the clips because you can see them; these are completely flat.

    I heard tape extensions cause breakage at the roots and can cause tension? What are your thoughts or anyone using this?

    • @757Princess
      @757Princess 2 года назад +2

      My ends were a mess after tape ins. Your hair gets so tangled at night even if you sleep with your hair tied up. Also the tape ins will slip out if you get oil products on them or try to blow dry your hair. The tape ins also melt in the heat and the heat from your scalp.

    • @Iamnicolereynolds
      @Iamnicolereynolds 2 года назад +3

      @@757Princess it’s about being properly installed. I wear them and my hair is extremely healthy

    • @swankylocs1161
      @swankylocs1161 2 года назад +10

      Tape in extensions are a TENSION free style. When they are applied correctly they actually can protect ur hair because ur hair is literally sandwiched in between the extensions . The problem comes from ppl applying them tooo close to the root, not having the proper amount of hair in between the Extenions, not stretching the clients hair before applying the tape in to have a smooth application. Lack of maintenance and letting them grow out and just letting them hang which causes breakage similar to having braids in and having a lot of new growth. That extension hanging that low is weight, & causes breakage. This is why maintenance with ALL styles is key.

    • @chauntelbrinae285
      @chauntelbrinae285 2 года назад

      @@swankylocs1161 so can you apply hair oil with these in or should I get itips? I moisturize my natural hair and do deep conditions with oil so would this not be a good option for me?

    • @swankylocs1161
      @swankylocs1161 2 года назад +3

      @@chauntelbrinae285 yeah deep conditions should be an issue but with oil especially excessive oil on your roots COULD release the bond of the tape. Granted, to take out the tape ins, when applied properly, U typically need a solvent that has more than just oil. The oil would have to get into the sandwiched pieces to mess it up. Now honestly i tips wouldn’t be the best either cause again a lot oil could make the bead slip out 🤷🏾‍♀️. But honestly love, you shouldn’t be putting mad oil in your hair when u have extensions in general . Heavy Oils don’t go on weave hair. Only serums or maybe argon oil .
