The girl that gave birth actually had no idea there was a zombie outbreak. She was pretty much already out the school when the first zombies started turning. Her seeing those zombies from the police car was her first encounter with them. She left the baby on the toilet by the playground, thinking one of the parents there would go in and find it but when she saw those zombies, she realized the baby would be in danger there, which is why she went back.

i think the message behind that scene and specifically this entire episode is the idea of motherly/parental instinct. in times of danger, the natural animal instinct of a guardian is to care for their kids, just like the girl going back for her new born child, her typing herself up to save her child, cheongsans mum rushing to see her son at school and the teacher caring for all the kids. this theme is reoccurring through the drama, despite the show also being about the disparity between adults and younger generations and sometimes their failure in caring for the younger gen

@@larose5783 also I think it’s about how unfit the parents are but they still are the ones who do the most to save the kids. Cheongsans mom falling when she got on the moped had no purpose other then showing how she has no real survival skills but she still will do anything in her power to save her son. I was mad when these guys said they kinda hate the girl with the baby because another big part of that is how child pregnancy is a taboo in south korea. You may be disowned so she had to keep it a secret, but she still saved it out of love

There's a reason why the teen mom chose to give birth in a restroom at a playground. Because she was thinking that if she leaves the baby there then one of those parents will find the baby and take them in. She didn't know that there was a zombie outbreak at the time until she saw them in that car accident. Also Ms Park didn't want any of the kids to get out of there and risk their lives that's why she closed the door before anyone would go after nayeon and she wanted to give one more word and advice to them before leaving them to help her.

The girl who had the baby was actually trying to protect it that's why she put the chairs in front of her, then tied herself up. Plus remember this is a sixteen year old who's been hiding a pregnancy from the world, somethings are just to shameful to bring to your family. Girls in the states do it too when they're desperate. Great reaction

    • @Pmtyler
      @Pmtyler 2 года назад +24

Especially in South Korea. If you google the amount of teen pregnancy in SK it’s low but it’s because those girls keep it a secret or leave their baby. They will 100% be shamed and most likely disowned. It effects their likelihood of getting a good job. A lot of people call her a useless character but she was used to convey a lesson about teen pregnancy in SK.

As some other comments mentioned already, the show draws a lot of parallels to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy that happened in Korea in 2014. Around 200 students died because of the carelessness of the adult ship crew. That speech the teacher gave before she went after Nayeon was a reference to that. "Look after one another. If you cause someone else to die, life becomes meaningless."

30:30 i'm not in favor or against this girl but boys, remember they're TEENS. she probably has no family support or father's baby support. she probably doesn't work and can't help or support her baby. maybe she hoped that someone might found her baby and take care of her/him better than her (in SK there are some places were people leave their babies and other people can take care of them until they find families or their biological family in the future can take care of them) but she saw what was going on outside and decided to take her/him with her. we don't know how she got pregnant and how things worked for her, so we can't really judge her.

I think I saw another comment mentioning this as well but yes, in South Korea someone who is older than you (sometimes even by a year) or someone who has more experience or a higher station in your specific company/work field (or in this case school) you speak to them with a certain type of speech (polite form) to show respect; if you're talking to a boss or teacher sometimes you speak with an even more formal speech. So in this show, or any other Korean show you watch, if you see them mention something about speaking casually and they seem to be offended its usually bc the person switched to "casual speech" when they shouldn't have lol

The girl didn't know there was a zombie outbreak when she left the baby, which is why she went back once she did. Also, I don't think it's fair to judge her for leaving the baby. This situation happens all around the world with girls her age, they likely have no support and the best option they can think of for the baby is for someone else to find it and raise it. I'm sure she had zero ill intent by leaving the baby, most make that decision because they know they cannot provide the best life for their baby. She is a teen girl who was alone and likely scared as childbirth is not an easy process nor is deciding what's best for said baby. As for her hiding the baby poorly, she only had so much time before she turned and she did her best by tying herself up to prevent herself from eating the baby. It's an overall shitty situation, no one would handle it perfectly.

36:18 Powerful words from the teacher, Ms. Park. "If you push someone onto their death, then (human) life (your own life) becomes meaningless (because this world will turn cold, calculating, determining who is worthy and deserving of life and who is not). Dayam~!!!!!
This is why I like watching series from different cultures because we get to see different perspectives, different values being presented on the screen.
I mean when we saw that triflin' h3ffa Nayeon committing murder in broad daylight (wiping zombie blood on Gyeong Su), because of her own twisted thoughts and views of people of lower economic status, I'm sure everyone felt the same way. Send that h3ffa out to the hall, to her grave.
Ms. Park gave her students one final lesson before she left, to stand with a twisted student of hers. Ms. Park going after Nayeon to be with her, by no means saying that what Nayeon did was ok or that her actions were justifiable.
She as a teacher was saying, in life we all screw up, in different levels and degrees. Nayeon was her student, whether she was good or bad. She was under Ms. Park's care. So Ms. Park wanted to teach Nayeon her one final lesson, which is, while you are breathing, you have an opportunity to reflect on your actions, evaluate, and repent your mistakes.
By God's grace, if both of them make it out alive, Nayeon would have learned a powerful lesson. That her own teacher, knowing that she was wrong still stood by her and gave her a chance to reflect and learn from her twisted ways and mistakes. That her mistakes did not determine who she was, but rather, the potential to reflect and learn to become a greater person than who she was before weighed more in her teacher's mind, giving her worth and value to go on, and not get stuck in her present, sick condition.
Ms. Park, thank you. Even if you and Nayeon managed to live how ever many minutes out in the hallway, you gave your student an opportunity to reflect and repent. Even if she did not,
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE OUR HERO, FOR LAYING DOWN YOUR LIFE TO STAND BY YOUR STUDENT UNDER YOUR CARE, WHETHER PEOPLE JUDGED HER WORTHY OR NOT WORTHY OF LIVING.
THANK GOD THERE ARE TEACHERS STILL LEFT IN THIS WORLD, NOT BABYSITTERS FOR KIDS. TEACHERS TEACH BY THEIR ACTIONS, NOT BY THEIR WORDS.
You went out into the hall like a G and you have my respect, Ms. Park! ✌️

Once she saw the zombies she went back to it to take care of it and even tied herself as she was turning so she wouldn't kill them. It's like they didn't really pay much attention to her arc to notice these things? It's not that she didn't care about the baby is that as a teen in Korea she'd get shunned for having a baby and hoped someone else would take them in.

I'm adopted because I was born in a country where having a child out of wedlock is still seen as immoral (which is stupid and medieval, and says a lot about misogyny; "a woman is the husband's property and should be a virgin until she's married"). Even though S Korea is very modern in some areas, a woman who gives birth without being married is still judged by people. It is so unfair, because society judges the girl/woman, whereas there is seldom mention of the fact that there was also a man involved. That young girl if she had lived in a more accepting culture, might have chosen to be the baby's mother, but knowing how she'd been perceived after something like this, it was sadly more logical to leave the baby.

Great re-watching this show again for your reactions since the first two episodes - no spoilers from me by the way, not spoiling it for you guys or anyone else here reading the comments section.
These teens are in a terrible situation and trapped. It was so sad 😢 the way 'Gyeong-su' was murdered by 'Na-yeon' wiping the zombie blood onto that cloth after wiping it from the broken mop handle, hiding it in her pocket and then sneakily wiping his open scratch/wound with it thinking she wasn't seen and got away with it and as a result of that he turned, (definitely liked her better in Squid Game as no. 240 'Ji-yeong', she was a real one then LOL, now she's just pure evil and awful, but this means she's a great actor as we've gone from loving her in one show and crying over her death to practically disliking her and wanting her to die in another), poor 'Gyeong-su' he didn't deserve that.😡 'Na-yeon' hated him for a while it seems, because she's from wealthy family and lived in that private gated development and obviously looks down on those on welfare thinking herself better than him and you see the boys running through her private gated community as a short-cut to school annoying the security guard in Ep1 and then 'Gyeong-su' annoyingly, but playfully knocks/flips her with his hand on the back of her head whilst running past shouting something like "see you later" to which she responds "that [bleep] bum". She gets to school after them finding him sat on her desk telling him to get off calling him gross, him trying to de-escalate the situation then she finishes by telling him "your dirty". However, I think it may be deeper and she's jealous that despite him being on welfare, he is well-loved/liked and popular, hence her crying before leaving the classroom saying she had no friends and saying she didn't need any of them and "I'll die too then, that's what you all want isn't it" to which no one replied. The person I watched this with and all the reactors I've watched screamed "YES", some saying it in tears.🤭
The pregnant girl 'Hee-su' (who guy in the middle red beanie hat called it correctly saying she's pregnant, hence we see her waters breaking running down her legs when she briefly stops in the street), she did say a few words in Ep1 firstly saying to Ms Parks "I need to use the bathroom", then on quickly entering the school nurse office, the nurse asks the female student "what's wrong, do you feel sick", 'Hee-su' holds her stomach and replies "what do I do" and starts whimpering in pain and the nurse says, "does your stomach hurt...is it bad...let me see" then the others burst in asking for help with the missing/kidnapped student 'Hyeon-ju' who was bit by the hamster on 'Su-hyeok's back (who by the way is the girl from the very first opening scene in Ep1 on the roof in the rain with the bullies under the white umbrella smoking watching them slap around and batter (Mr Lee) the science teacher's son 'Lee Jin-su' before the bully in the white shirt pushes him off the building, where the son badly smashed his head and body on the way down before landing on the street below and looks dead). The the pregnant student see's the chaos and quietly slips out of the office.
The bullies deserve some poetic justice. Let's hope the young pregnant student's death/turning was not in vain and her baby makes it. Cheong-san's mum really loves him and is risking her life to try and save her boy with that badly twisted ankle of hers.
As for the teacher 'Ms Park Sun-hwa' she probably feels it's her responsibility to keep all pupils safe so ran after 'Na-yeon'. She's dangerous, a risk and a liability to the rest of the group because keeping her around would mean any time anyone get's scratched, near a zombie or upsets her she's going to plot to kill them. Ms Park's was certainly being the good shepherd, leaving the flock behind to go looking to rescue that one lost sheep, not sure how many of us would have risked our lives for her. SMH!🤷🏾‍♀

i know people get fight, flight or freeze reaction when threatened but i can't remember a character in any zombie film who is quick to react on a first encounter. though i guess it is natural irl to watch for a while and study the situation first before taking action but it's frustrating to watch in a film because we already know what's up before the characters do.
anyway, i could never feel sympathy for any bully unless they go through a worthy redemption arc, so i already hate that bully-lackey and company, and that pink-sweater girl. i wish their characters die in a lingering torturous way.

I kind of understand why the mum left her baby in the bathroom.
How would a teen mum take care of a child? When I first watch the show, I already understand.
Maybe she left the baby in the bathroom, so if someone found it… they can take him/ her in, and give him/ her a better life than the ones she can possibly give. I have a feeling she was pregnant in the first episode. She went back for the baby because she knew if they found the baby, they’d probably kill him/ her. So she picked it up, and run for it. She realised she was bitten, she panicked and found a safe place, put him/ her on the chair and protects it with a chair. And strapped herself to the door, so one way, she blocks the door, and second, she won’t go and kill her baby

Idk if anyone said this, but the girl who infected the other boy is the same actress from Squid Game, who sacrificed herself during the marbles game (I forgot her name in the show)

35:34 Na Yeon at least from what I grasp of her is an extremely insecure character that wants to be popular or rather in might be a better way to put it.

Gyeong-su is not a saint. In the beginning when everyone is walking to school, he runs up behind Na-Yeon and hits the back of her head with his book. I speculate he's bullied her in the past, but the writers failed to use this for Na-Yeon to make her case. Instead, their agenda focused on making people hate her instead of giving her a voice for his past antics.

He didn’t hit her with his book, also he hit the back of her backpack. They’re classmates it was not his intention to hurt her. I doubt he bullied her, she just hates him cuz of being on welfare she thinks she’s above everyone for being rich.

I was able to guess that too (and I'm sure I'm not the only one lol) the first time I watch the series, it's just deduction. Sometimes you're able to put two and two together and guess right, sometimes you aren't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and it's a reaction video...there is kind of no point if they don't talk while watching it. If you just wanna watch the episode without any talking...you can do so on netflix or whatever idk

    • @Oreo_Editz
      @Oreo_Editz 2 года назад

@@lunawhodano7290 Yes, ik. I watched the series on netflix already. What I meant was, if they already watched it then it sounds pretty annoying when they watched it already and pretend like its their first time. I am a fan of reaction videos, I know how reaction videos are.

@@zcnajjo8854 Ok. You really don't have to make a big deal about this. Ik that most reaction videos are fake. Put yourself in their place. Would you be talking so much as lots of people do in yt videos if that's their first time? Again, I really like reaction videos, i mean no harm.
