The little actress was really cute, watching her do "stunts" was adorable. Her little awkward run had me laughing, even though she was being kidnapped which was probably supposed to be sad.
For me, this is one of those things where I should love it but am instead disappointed by how average it is. I mean, you have Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Darth Vader in a series together, directed by Deborah Chow who directed two great Mandalorian episodes, and John Williams wrote Obi-Wan's theme. Like this should be amazing! But instead, it's just kind of ok. It has some great moments, and the Rematch of the Century is cool, but the plot is also really dumb and contrived.
When you know soooo many characters are going to survive (at least until the original trilogy and reboots) it doesn't give any sense of stakes. But the actress who plays Leia is amazing! She really nailed the dichotomy of being like Padme and Anakin. I hope to see her in more things, she's awesome!

She’s force sensitive which of course gives you advanced tag capabilities, she can sense their next movement. That’s a joke but those are the kinds of explanations and or excuses people will make for stuff they like or really want to like and defend. Like things were off about Squid Games here or there and people who liked it were like no there are literally no plot holes every single thing is correct and can be explained. I don’t know if there’s any show or movie where that’s the case really where it’s like totally airtight, and some major series even have one or two massive errors. I can’t even watch the Pitch Meetings of movies I really like as I feel like I won’t be able to not notice the stuff he points out later.

Ive always found Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader a more interesting character than Obi Wan. Id enjoy a series that revolves around Vader's early years, getting adjusted to the suit and hunting down Jedi who survived Order 66.
Ryan didn't even mention the ridiculousness (to me) of how only 2 small Rebel starfighters were able do get Kenobi out of the Fortress Inquisitorius, even though they have TIE-Fighters in there and didn't even bother to launch any of them to attack the Rebel starfighters.
For me the series was a mixed bag, there were some great moments that felt like it honored the prequels/lucas but their were some mediocre moments such as Reva's entire character arc! I don't mean to pick on the actress herself but I just didn't feel attached to the character 😕 but I did love the last fight of Vader & Kenobi it felt like Revenge of the Sith part 2.

The way he explains Reva’s whole motivations to kill Anakin cause he killed Jedi even tho she works for him and kills Jedi isn’t good criticism. Practically every inquisitor who serves Vader and the Emperor was a fallen Jedi who survived Order 66 because all of them were consumed by the dark side. To me, Reva is the most interesting one because she actually has a goal and an entire plan to get revenge on Anakin while all the other inquisitors just accepted their place and did nothing to try and get revenge, which is understandable because they know how powerful Vader is, but that really only makes them look weaker. The fact Reva actually tried, even tho she was clearly no match for Vader just shows how much determined she is to stand up to her rival, and that’s why she’s the most interesting of the bunch. She’s also probably the only inquisitor who survived past the fall of the Empire since she was at least in her 10ths during the Kenobi show unless something happened to her. And sure, we could still make assumptions that Barriss and Lyn could still be alive after the end of the Tales of the Empire show after they had their redemption arcs.
Neither of them touched upon Reva going after Luke and how it doesn't make any sense. Like she failed to kill Vader she wants to kill Vader for killing younglings and trying to kill her, so her next move is let me go kill this boy that Obi-Wan's comm link vaguely mentioned that Vader has no idea exists and would mean nothing to him at that point in time? And also isn't a target? Like what is her motive there?? It made no sense to me, it would've been better if she just died and the last episode was just Obi-Wan and Vader fighting and Leia and the crew escaping. I would've liked to hear more talking between Vader and Obi-Wan too. Reconnecting, tapping into Vader's good side but failing to bring it out of him fully so it doesn't ruin Return of the Jedi, and just things like that.
I mean, for Qui Gon to be one of the best jedis, he sure was the only one to be kill by being stabbed by a sword made of burning plasma laser. Some people may say that after that Jedi's and Sith evolved their force powers to protect themselfs more, I call it shitty writting.

Honestly, this series was terrible and once again they did the actors dirty by serving up red hot garbage for them to work with. Whoever directed this should never be allowed to work on anything again. The Leia runaway scenes, the gate that they should've just run around, the cloak with 4 feet, the stormtroopers shooting into a cave filled with people and hitting 2 people and a million other things. Fucking terrible.
Organa going to Obi-Wan for help despite running an entire planet, having access to unlimited funds, a military etc etc. No, let's ask the guy who's living in a cave who already has someone to look after. We split the twins up for a reason you moron, you look after her, I'll look after him!
The show was a huge disservice to Obi-Wan and Vader. On top of that they introduced Reva to make you like her, but her plan is so stupid I wanted her dead even more.
I’ll give my thoughts. And i may be in the minority here. There are some stuff i like but i’m naming the stuff i had issues with. I did not like Leia in this. She was annoying so much. For me even with all the people explaining why it makes sense. I still don’t see how anything that happened would make sense in the time line. His whole job is to both protect this child and train this child. And for some reason he doesn’t practice or keep up training. Why would Obiwan trust a scam artist with Leia. This whole story would not have happened if Organa had just sent his own troops instead of the one guy who he shouldn’t have. They both were trusted to watch after two kids. Obwan has to watch after Luke. Organa get’s Leia. It’s like when Rachel and Chandler fought over a cheesecake and they split it then Rachel dropped her piece and wanted Chandler to share his and when Chandler didn’t Rachel slapped his piece onto the ground. And if the empire believes that he is connected to Obiwan and Reve’s plan did get Obiwan to come out cause of that than Organa’s family should be arrested instantly. Even with Leia screaming “My father Organa who is on the senate will save me” then get’s saved by a jedi. Again. Their family should be ruined from this. And somehow this 10 year old Jedi youngling survived a lightsaber stab through the chest. Escaped. And years later survived yet another stab from the same person. And this is just something i didn’t like from the flashback fight. Where Anakin clearly won that sparing match then Obiwan goes “your need for victory blinds you” and then Anakin, thinking he won cause he did, walks away thinking “ok i won so training is over” then Obiwan just runs up and strikes. Yeah thats one way to win. Wait for the end of the fight then stab them in the back
To me problem is that I was just really disappointed how they portrayed Obi-Wan. It just feels like Disney is insisting every previous character must be total wreck and totally unlike what they should be. I mean Obi-Wan is basically maybe the most dedicated and stable Jedi ever, one mind you that has active mission of protecting Luke. While he wouldn't be at his peak due to inactivity, there's just no way he would be totally inept like shown in the show. Especially if you have read prequel movie novelizations, Obi-Wan, while not the strongest Jedi, is one of the most light side attuned Jedi at the time. Which means he's perfectly in control of his emotions and incredibly strong mentality wise. Btw, I really recommend reading those novels, it really makes you understand prequels, and especially Anakins fall on whole new level.
I have a theory about the true purpose of the Inquisitorius that has nothing to do with hunting down Jedi This can be a little complicated so bear with me here A Sith, under the Rule of Two becomes a master by killing his master and then choosing a new apprentice who is potentially more powerful than himself (or herself as the case may be) but when the newly minted Darth Vader got injured on Mustafar, everything changed, Vader can never be as powerful as he could have been So what can Palpatine do? He now has to replace Vader but how? Here's my idea Create a force of corrupted former Jedi, obstensively to hunt down and kill Jedi and are completely expendable. If they live, no big deal, if not, no loss But what if one of these Inquisitors can kill Vader and replace him? Palpatine has a new powerful apprentice Unfortunately for him, none of them could ever do it Fast forward to 0 BBY, a teenager destroys the Death Star single handed while being pursued by Vader. AND as it turns out, he's Anakin's son. Palpatine now sees a new chance to replace Vader if he can turn Luke to the Dark Side Fortunately Luke was never corrupted and Sidious never was able to replace Vader Now here's another theory that I have that is even more outside the box than that What if Anakin never was "The Chosen One?" Sure he's got the highest midichlorian count ever recorded but Luke's count was never taken, neither was Leia's or Rey's for that matter Leia was able to hide her force sensitivity from the Inquisitorius and Vader Rey beat Kylo Ren and Palpatine and Luke beat Vader and Palpatine as well If Palpatine was able to corrupt Luke, he would've replaced Vader in an instant fulfilling his goal for the Inquisitorius Luke was what he was looking for when he created the Inquisitorius

I actually cried when watching the trailer. Cried. Then I watched the show.. For 3 episodes before I just gave up. This sucked so much. Like, does it even get better after the 3rd? Leia was somehow a tiny child acting like a brat, but also a genius (not the "that is impressive for a child" type of prodigy. That I could understand. She was adult level genius, yet also a moron). Reva was to me just another red lightsaber that just has no personality. Nothing about it made me want to even remember it. And that is with knowing that Haden as Vader was coming. I just do not care about it. They didn't even make Obi fun in any way. He is by far my favorite. Based on the first 3 I would say just scrap it. And considering everything else Disney has made, just scrap it all. With the exception of The Mandalorian. That show is actually fun to watch. Even so, I would be willing to never see s3 if it meant Disney just gave up control to someone with a soul.
This is exactly whats wrong with some of the fans. You watched the first 3 episodes of a 6 episode series and automatically make assumptions on how bad it'll be when it ends. You don't even allow the director and writers to build up a story and resolve it.

I could very easily say the same about people who accept this cheap Star Wars knock-off that Disney makes, but instead I accept that some people like it the way it is now. A number of good moments, but not expertly glued together. I'd like a season 2, but I'd prefer it to be in the hands of the Favreau/Filoni writing team and with a bigger budget.
The main thing that annoyed me about the series is no matter what happened in the previous scene, if there is a need for something to get out of the next scene it will be conjured out of thin air. Like if Tala had a thermal detonator, why hold onto it to blow up in her hand when she got shot. Why not chuck it at the storm troopers when they were all bunched up together in the previous scene? When the hyperdrive was out on the transport, why not cannibalize the fighter's hyperdrive for parts to fix it faster. Or if the Empire is just after Obi Wan, load Leia and Obi Wan into the fighter to lead the Star Destroyer away from the transport, then jump to hyperspace to get away. Reeva just straight up teleporting to Tatooine between episodes with no explanation is unforgivably lazy writing.
The producer has some interesting priorities if the holiday special is so high on his list. I enjoyed the show a lot but I think part of it is because i watched it all in one sitting, so it basically felt like a movie, I think if I had watched it one episode a week i would have been more underwhelmed, and had more time to think about the dumber moments.
I loved the Obi-Wan series. Yes, there were some plot holes, (Like there is in everything...) but overall, it was a triumph! The ONLY thing I would have changed was the Scooby-Doo sneaking Leah out of the Fortress Inquisitorious! LOL
4:50 anime reference to the Evangelion (mechanical humanoid) because they can only make OOOowahh gruuuhhh brawhhhhh noises (it's a loud noises without any meaning). here it means she's basically talk garbage the entire show.
I really hated this show. It's just so bad. Some of the actors are really bad, like the Reva actress. This has nothing to do with her skincolor, she just really didn't act well. And Leia was just a stupid brat. And Obi Wan was a coward beta-male all the way through. Most of the story barely made any sense at all and actively contradicted itself several times. Characters just teleport to whereever they need to be for the next part of the script to happen with no regard for how organic it feels. AND NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENED. This show was The Last Jedi levels of bad, mostly because it just gave the Last Jedi treatment to Obi Wan instead of Luke. And of course it actively breaks canon multiple times.

A nit pick I’ve had for decades: in a new hope, the robes obi wan wore…. They have become “Jedi robes.” But…… uncle Owen is wearing the exact same robes. In 1977 at age 7 I therefore just thought those are desert dwelling garb. Why did it become Jedi garb? Go watch it! Owen was wearing the same robes!!!! Disappointing.

I don’t care about obi wan but decided to give the show a try. I could have missed it and it wouldn’t affect the overall story one bit

To me, Reva is the most interesting one because she actually has a goal and an entire plan to get revenge on Anakin while all the other inquisitors just accepted their place and did nothing to try and get revenge, which is understandable because they know how powerful Vader is, but that really only makes them look weaker. The fact Reva actually tried, even tho she was clearly no match for Vader just shows how much determined she is to stand up to her rival, and that’s why she’s the most interesting of the bunch. She’s also probably the only inquisitor who survived past the fall of the Empire since she was at least in her 10ths during the Kenobi show unless something happened to her. And sure, we could still make assumptions that Barriss and Lyn could still be alive after the end of the Tales of the Empire show after they had their redemption arcs.

Neither of them touched upon Reva going after Luke and how it doesn't make any sense. Like she failed to kill Vader she wants to kill Vader for killing younglings and trying to kill her, so her next move is let me go kill this boy that Obi-Wan's comm link vaguely mentioned that Vader has no idea exists and would mean nothing to him at that point in time? And also isn't a target? Like what is her motive there?? It made no sense to me, it would've been better if she just died and the last episode was just Obi-Wan and Vader fighting and Leia and the crew escaping. I would've liked to hear more talking between Vader and Obi-Wan too. Reconnecting, tapping into Vader's good side but failing to bring it out of him fully so it doesn't ruin Return of the Jedi, and just things like that.

The show was a huge disservice to Obi-Wan and Vader. On top of that they introduced Reva to make you like her, but her plan is so stupid I wanted her dead even more.
I’ll give my thoughts. And i may be in the minority here. There are some stuff i like but i’m naming the stuff i had issues with.
I did not like Leia in this. She was annoying so much. For me even with all the people explaining why it makes sense. I still don’t see how anything that happened would make sense in the time line.
His whole job is to both protect this child and train this child. And for some reason he doesn’t practice or keep up training.
Why would Obiwan trust a scam artist with Leia.
This whole story would not have happened if Organa had just sent his own troops instead of the one guy who he shouldn’t have. They both were trusted to watch after two kids. Obwan has to watch after Luke. Organa get’s Leia. It’s like when Rachel and Chandler fought over a cheesecake and they split it then Rachel dropped her piece and wanted Chandler to share his and when Chandler didn’t Rachel slapped his piece onto the ground. And if the empire believes that he is connected to Obiwan and Reve’s plan did get Obiwan to come out cause of that than Organa’s family should be arrested instantly. Even with Leia screaming “My father Organa who is on the senate will save me” then get’s saved by a jedi. Again. Their family should be ruined from this.
And somehow this 10 year old Jedi youngling survived a lightsaber stab through the chest. Escaped. And years later survived yet another stab from the same person.
And this is just something i didn’t like from the flashback fight. Where Anakin clearly won that sparing match then Obiwan goes “your need for victory blinds you” and then Anakin, thinking he won cause he did, walks away thinking “ok i won so training is over” then Obiwan just runs up and strikes. Yeah thats one way to win. Wait for the end of the fight then stab them in the back
It was a good one, except that I just ruined it for myself. I haven’t made time to watch the series yet lol

To me problem is that I was just really disappointed how they portrayed Obi-Wan. It just feels like Disney is insisting every previous character must be total wreck and totally unlike what they should be.
I mean Obi-Wan is basically maybe the most dedicated and stable Jedi ever, one mind you that has active mission of protecting Luke. While he wouldn't be at his peak due to inactivity, there's just no way he would be totally inept like shown in the show.
Especially if you have read prequel movie novelizations, Obi-Wan, while not the strongest Jedi, is one of the most light side attuned Jedi at the time. Which means he's perfectly in control of his emotions and incredibly strong mentality wise. Btw, I really recommend reading those novels, it really makes you understand prequels, and especially Anakins fall on whole new level.
I have a theory about the true purpose of the Inquisitorius that has nothing to do with hunting down Jedi
This can be a little complicated so bear with me here
A Sith, under the Rule of Two becomes a master by killing his master and then choosing a new apprentice who is potentially more powerful than himself (or herself as the case may be) but when the newly minted Darth Vader got injured on Mustafar, everything changed, Vader can never be as powerful as he could have been
So what can Palpatine do? He now has to replace Vader but how?
Here's my idea
Create a force of corrupted former Jedi, obstensively to hunt down and kill Jedi and are completely expendable. If they live, no big deal, if not, no loss
But what if one of these Inquisitors can kill Vader and replace him? Palpatine has a new powerful apprentice
Unfortunately for him, none of them could ever do it
Fast forward to 0 BBY, a teenager destroys the Death Star single handed while being pursued by Vader. AND as it turns out, he's Anakin's son. Palpatine now sees a new chance to replace Vader if he can turn Luke to the Dark Side
Fortunately Luke was never corrupted and Sidious never was able to replace Vader
Now here's another theory that I have that is even more outside the box than that
What if Anakin never was "The Chosen One?"
Sure he's got the highest midichlorian count ever recorded but Luke's count was never taken, neither was Leia's or Rey's for that matter
Leia was able to hide her force sensitivity from the Inquisitorius and Vader
Rey beat Kylo Ren and Palpatine and Luke beat Vader and Palpatine as well
If Palpatine was able to corrupt Luke, he would've replaced Vader in an instant fulfilling his goal for the Inquisitorius
Luke was what he was looking for when he created the Inquisitorius

I actually cried when watching the trailer. Cried. Then I watched the show.. For 3 episodes before I just gave up. This sucked so much. Like, does it even get better after the 3rd? Leia was somehow a tiny child acting like a brat, but also a genius (not the "that is impressive for a child" type of prodigy. That I could understand. She was adult level genius, yet also a moron). Reva was to me just another red lightsaber that just has no personality. Nothing about it made me want to even remember it. And that is with knowing that Haden as Vader was coming. I just do not care about it. They didn't even make Obi fun in any way. He is by far my favorite.
Based on the first 3 I would say just scrap it. And considering everything else Disney has made, just scrap it all. With the exception of The Mandalorian. That show is actually fun to watch. Even so, I would be willing to never see s3 if it meant Disney just gave up control to someone with a soul.
This is exactly whats wrong with some of the fans. You watched the first 3 episodes of a 6 episode series and automatically make assumptions on how bad it'll be when it ends. You don't even allow the director and writers to build up a story and resolve it.

Also, calling someones opinion "what is wrong with the fandom" is just cringe. I could very easily say the same about people who accept this cheap Star Wars knock-off that Disney makes, but instead I accept that some people like it the way it is now. I just happen to not enjoy it. I have never been a die hard Star Wars guy, so I can easily go without. I am sincerely glad for you if you enjoy it.
A number of good moments, but not expertly glued together. I'd like a season 2, but I'd prefer it to be in the hands of the Favreau/Filoni writing team and with a bigger budget.
The main thing that annoyed me about the series is no matter what happened in the previous scene, if there is a need for something to get out of the next scene it will be conjured out of thin air. Like if Tala had a thermal detonator, why hold onto it to blow up in her hand when she got shot. Why not chuck it at the storm troopers when they were all bunched up together in the previous scene? When the hyperdrive was out on the transport, why not cannibalize the fighter's hyperdrive for parts to fix it faster. Or if the Empire is just after Obi Wan, load Leia and Obi Wan into the fighter to lead the Star Destroyer away from the transport, then jump to hyperspace to get away. Reeva just straight up teleporting to Tatooine between episodes with no explanation is unforgivably lazy writing.
I am done with any Star Wars project now
The producer has some interesting priorities if the holiday special is so high on his list.
I enjoyed the show a lot but I think part of it is because i watched it all in one sitting, so it basically felt like a movie, I think if I had watched it one episode a week i would have been more underwhelmed, and had more time to think about the dumber moments.
I loved the Obi-Wan series. Yes, there were some plot holes, (Like there is in everything...) but overall, it was a triumph! The ONLY thing I would have changed was the Scooby-Doo sneaking Leah out of the Fortress Inquisitorious! LOL
This was a perfectly average series that I'm glad I watched, but probably will never revisit

I really hated this show. It's just so bad. Some of the actors are really bad, like the Reva actress. This has nothing to do with her skincolor, she just really didn't act well. And Leia was just a stupid brat. And Obi Wan was a coward beta-male all the way through. Most of the story barely made any sense at all and actively contradicted itself several times. Characters just teleport to whereever they need to be for the next part of the script to happen with no regard for how organic it feels. AND NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENED. This show was The Last Jedi levels of bad, mostly because it just gave the Last Jedi treatment to Obi Wan instead of Luke.
And of course it actively breaks canon multiple times.

A nit pick I’ve had for decades: in a new hope, the robes obi wan wore…. They have become “Jedi robes.” But…… uncle Owen is wearing the exact same robes. In 1977 at age 7 I therefore just thought those are desert dwelling garb. Why did it become Jedi garb? Go watch it! Owen was wearing the same robes!!!!

I really didn't like Obi-wan. There was so much that made no sense. I actually liked the Book of Boba Fett a lot more, even though I had lots of issues with that as well.

This series did nothing for me. Not only was it not needed it again went against the continuity even more so. Everything they seem to do prequels it seems they say to hell with what was already done. They gonna do whatever they want for the show they doing now. But this was a story not needed. I still haven’t watched solo because its a story not needed and a character I never really cared about. I don’t care about obi wan but decided to give the show a try. I could have missed it and it wouldn’t affect the overall story one bit
From TFA to now, Disney has ruined everything I used to live about Star Wars. It baffles me how they continuously phone it in every single time.
