Mumbai, the commercial and financial capital of India, has the highest number of skyscrapers and high-rise buildings in India. Almost 200 skyscrapers and 4,000 high-rise buildings have already been constructed in the city of Mumbai. (A skyscraper is defined as a continuously habitable high-rise building that has over 40 floors and is taller than approximately 150 m or 492 ft according to international standards

This is depressing :( I wanted to see mega structures like dubai in India. Just imagine if we had India tower then the mumbai woulld have been a whole different city.
Is there no solution? really? We keep giving excuses but there must be some solution. I hope India and Mumbai will have mega structures in the future. This is necessary for mumbai as whole of India looks up to this city.
Is there a point to having these mega structures? I would rather see affordable housing complexes for poor people
Imagine seeing Dubai, who don't even have a sewage drainage, as a role model for your biggest city 🤡
@@greenrico10In Mumbai area is less so you can't expand horizontally beyond a certain limit. Only solution is to expand vertically(build taller buildings) but that can't happen due to burocrasy and AAI restrictions. So housing prices are bound to increase as more & more people will migrate to Mumbai over time.
what about Europe n1gga
Agar mumbai mein tallest building ko zyada develop nahi karna hai toh navi mumbai mein tallest building ko develope karo kyonki navi mumbai mein bahut zyada jagah hai.
Bhai me bhi Navi mumbai se hu hamare yaha uran panvel vashi Belapur yaha bahut sari jagha hai idhar tallest building
Most important thing which people ignore is that design of Airport and its runway approach matters too. Incase of Mumbai there are two run away which Criss-crosses each other and approach path covers large section of skyline . If the runways were parallel then it would have been much better.
Exactly these runway's design is flaw in itself. At a time only one runway is operational they should have constructed two parallel runways so that it wouldn't have covered large area of mumbai so that AAI could put restrictions over small region only also the traffic could have well managed using two operational runways
The runways being in a cross is not a design flaw. Most airplanes are the easiest to land when the wind is blowing towards the plane. So there are two runways in a criss-cross so the the pilot an land on either runways depending on how the wind is blowing
@@greenrico10 so what about the airports who don't have such intersecting runways...plane also land there na?
@@skilz9525 it's because of land availability. Only one runway can function at a time and they use the other one when one of them is under repair. They probably never intended to have two parallel runway as no land available but still forced to create an intersecting one to take care of maintenance. So not a design failure really as it's hard to be that dumb😀
@@At_sk exactly... they had to design in that way because land acquisition for another parallel runway wasn't possible in city center
Airport restrictions are one thing. But there are also other points like fire hazard protection. Considering the road infrastructure below / around the skyscrapers, if there is a fire on the topmost floor of the building then the fire engine should be able to reach with its equipment there.
BMC has given permission for the same I guess

@@loading3138 it lost It's glory.Time for others to defeat kolkata from the top 10 list
I dont understand who gave AAI so much authority to interfare with the infrastructure development of indian cities.... Even in kolkata they dont give permission to build buildings above 300m even when the sites are more then 20 kms aways... Now they are building another airport in southern kolkata which means they will now wont allow tall buildings from 2 sides.. .. So many skyscrapers in kolkata are in hold because of two bodies AAI and Army cantonment... Thats why international company dont make thier headquarters in india... They usually choose Singapore hongkong or dubai because every building needs so many permissions to be taken from so many bodies... That the permission takes longer then the actual construction.... Such hapless condition is of india.. We will never grow because of these bodies and the government...

Laguardia airport is really close to Manhattan yet it operates on high capacity.
Not si high capacity, majority happens at JFK
@@topgear_75 talk over facts friend, Laguardia just before pandemic was having 30 million passengers annually. CSIA was handling just over 40 million passengers. Thats not a huge difference.
That's right I just checked that La Guardia is hardly 7kms away from the billionaire's row in midtown. The Central Park Tower is 472m. I think if Manhattan can pull this off certainly Mumbai can. It will just take AAI to open up to the idea.

Can current Mumbai CST airport's runway be made parallel to each other.
Crossing each other affects flight capacity
It cannot, not possible.
This is not possible as their are many slums located near CSMIA and it is hard to relocate a big part of it. This was for land and 2nd is to counter crosswind, At CSMIA, winds mostly flow from either east to west or west to east. Here runway 9/27 is mainly used and it has been designated as primary runway. But sometimes you will see heavy crosswind i.e., winds from NW to SE or vice versa. In such scenarios runway 14/32 is used.

Nothing will happen in India without heavy amount given for the project. This is the truth. Why they are restricting 1000 structures instead of shifting one Airport to an isolated place ?
