Saw a post yesterday from a guy in Texas. He was angry that, if the federal minimum wage became law, somebody working a 40-hour week would have about 30K a year. He stated that teachers in Texas only make 33K a year.
At first, I thought he was saying he thinks teachers are underpaid. Then I realised he wants the poor to stay poor, with the minimum wage left low. What a mentality.

There is NO WAY the Biltmore estate was built by people scraping by on two dollars a day.
Even back then it couldn’t have been enough to save up to build a mansion.

In 1895 2 dollars a day was far more than most people earned. Average was approx 50cents per week.

4:10 IDK about your millionaire. Does he have a huge income too? The house alone is worth 3 to 5m, his kids private education will be 1m each, his groceries are 1k week, and much more if he entertains. Clothing? Travel? Restaurants? Unless you're already really old, or plan to die young and healthy, you and your wife will NOT retire in that house with just 1m invested. Not in America.

1:12 The reason why debt forgiveness is a handout is that the debt does not actually go away. It just gets transferred to everybody other than you. In either case, it is literally someone giving you something (in this case your miseducation) for nothing. Thats a handout.
OTOH, taxing people less is merely taking less from them; they already earned it, and youre taking less. If you have 5 apples, and I tax you one of them instead of two, I (and this can be hard to grasp for some people) _have not given you an apple._
Most of these "memes" is just a stunning lack of economic education.

Many of these issues can be corrected if people would, work at a job for longer than 1 year and then change because it is better somewhere else. Never join a union, when you join a union you pay someone to speak for you and the person you are paying is making more money that you. Keep voting for democrats and you will keep moving your job to another country.
