i saw you on day 2! i left and came back to buy the kirby keychain. i was so happy to see you at my local con! i checked everyday for this video because i was just so happy i saw you!
I was going to get a table for Fan Expo SanFran because flights were cheap and i'm east coast but I feel like I've dodged a bullet now seeing your experience with the Fan Expo shows.
omg i def think fan expo shows that are newer like san fran are def not worth the flight for now... theyre all growing cons so i would give them a few more years! i would go for the bigger ones like mega con if you can C:
I was a staff member at this con, it was my first Fan Expo and I was sad I was stuck downstairs by the panel rooms in such a boring area...sad to hear even upstairs was really slow! They sent me home early everyday, lol 😭 Definitely a nice con for the area it's in, but def not something worth traveling far or dropping a ton of money on. Fun to see an artist alley POV, though!
Such a great video! I tabled last year and was waitlisted this year, but it's nice to hear from a more successful artists that FanExpo Philly is kinda not a great con. I just chalked it up to my art and merch not being good enough. I live in Pennsylvania and know someone who lives in philly so I don't have to worry about a hotel. One of my friends flew in from Florida and said it's definitely not a travel con.
aw yeah some cons are just generally not meant to be a big travel con :C which is sad cuz i loved philly itself! i think fan expo tends to run smaller sized cons too which can also fluctuate revenue in general...
i remember buying one of your sticker books! i found this video because im currently researching how hard it is to get accepted into artist alley for fan expo and recognized your username/logo! haven’t watched through the whole video yet so not sure if you mention this but how hard is it to get accepted? is it first come first serve or jury?
hi!! thank you for supporting my shop :") for fan expo i think it definitely depends on which location you decide to go to! some fan expos are more competitive than others (example: megacon / fan expo denver) and have higher rebook rates for AA which makes it hard to get into :")

@@jykdoodles I'm on the waitlist for Megacon so fingers crossed! I've heard it's really hard to get into that one due to how popular it is to rebook.

@@jykdoodles thank you for the info!!
It seems so weird to me that they didn't want people using battery packs... That is so essential for tabeling.
yes i think the convention center probably didn't want it for some reason.. a lot of vendors were caught off guard by the sudden notice of it! : C
