Your right to check the underside thats the problem with transit vans the chassis legs rot on the rear spring hangers spoils a good van. Mechanically good engines and gearbox. Hope you do well you deserve it.😁❤
It’s amazing what results you can get putting some effort it ,had the same on my van looked like a explosion in a oil factory took me 20 hours to bring it up like new .👍
@@tccarsales not bad miles for the years , managed to get a mk6 on an 03 about 5 years ago with 85k on it and 2 owners, 1 company for the first 3 years then the guy i got it from , needed new wing mirror backs pair from ebay £12 the pair and remove the blue company strip from the bottom of the panels ,no rot passed every mot since with no advisorys its a2.3 petrol with factory lpg so it costs 70p a litter to fill
Shiny. I just paid £500 for an 2010 reg one like yours . It needed a new turbo. Got it off eBay £139. Ran fine after the exhaust emptied of oil . But still have a problem with it . Starts first time but after a run just conks out and won't restart. I haven't had chance to feck around with it as its only been a couple of weeks. Think its the diesel pressure regulator.
Yes this one did seem fine, being company owned it had endless amounts of money thrown at it so any issues that did come along were fixed. Thanks for watching!
I’ve never put a vehicle through an auction, this particular van had so much interest I could have sold 10 times over. Wish I could say the same for some of my other vehicles! Really quiet at the moment
@@tccarsales I used to buy and sell back in the mid 90's Id pretty much do the same as you, had a pal that would check over what I bought and repair what needed fixing then Id detail the car, people always buy with their eyes and a nice looking car will always sell. It was even possible back then to buy from one auction then sell in different auction. Changed days now what with people wanting every last detail off you now. Car market just now is still very exaggerated, love to know who's buying these overpriced cars.

I know what you mean wit the prices, I watch BCA sometimes and there are people paying retail money for everything and I wonder how they can then go an make money from it. Audi A4 Estate or BMW 3 Series touring or C Class Mercedes, the prices after the Lockdowns are just silly, and that's for cars with well over 100k on the clock. Seen an Audi A4 online last night, 2014 Estate TFSi with 118k on the clock and they wanted 17k for it Not a chance in hell, that's just insane. Seen a nice Focus ST estate December last year near Aberdeen, I'm in Scotland myself, it was nice and advertised for 13k I asked if ANY room on the price ? A straight No!
@@G4RY1159 yes it’s hard because as a customer you want the best deal, but as someone selling a vehicle if you have prepped it right, as In service, MOT, wheels, detailing etc and it’s priced competitively there isn’t much reason to drop. I’ve had people say to me all the time “I’ve seen another one 100 miles away done 10,000 miles more and it’s £500 cheaper” so i politely say they should maybe view that one of there not happy with my one. On the other hand If people want to do a deal there and then I’m always happy to move the price to get a sale agreed, suppose it’s down to the margin in the vehicle and how strongly you believe the vehicle will sell. It’s a funny old game!

Had mine 4 months 17 plate already had both front wheel bearings changed and alternator, next week changing wet belt, its a good job im a mechanic 😂😂😂😂 if you have no knowledge dont bother youll have empty pockets beleive me 👍

Andrew from Australia, The Mk 7 Ford Transit was a ripper of a van . We had a short wheel base Mk 7 from new in our painting & decorating business . The Mk 7 was built proof and it never let us down in the 5 years we owned our van , We trade in our Mk 7 for a new short wheel base Transit custom . We have had nothing but problem after problem with this van . Great video and it brings back a lot of memories of our Mk 7.
Andrew I also own 1 now 3 years no issues really and also like you spent alot of time in Australia and also like you have a painting decorating business both here and in Australia!

Hi Mark, yes I’m fully aware one former keeper means that that is 2 in total, that’s why I was happy to show the logbook, it’s rare for a van of this age to have only 2 keepers from new, even though being company owned means it may have had lots of different drivers. iv just replaced both steps in a transit sport mk7 , apparently is comon , iv had it 4 year the body kit makes them rot quick compared to a non sport
