Crackle pops map... lol... crackle pops map! There was a time when a car that sounded like this would be in need of service. Now we program the computer to purposely make this noise.
yeah it's so childish isn't it, I don't understand somsbody would want this, imagine driving trough city off the gas and ur car just keeps doing that it's so stupid.
In some cases there is a legitimate purpose to this; if you time the injection of fuel so that combustion occurs at around the time the exhaust valve opens, the additional hot exhaust gas keeps the turbo spinning, so you minimise turbo lag between gear changes. There are some people who take it too far (the above example is quite mild), we have some local car owners who've had their cars mapped to sound like shotgun fire which is a real pain in the ass at 1:00am on a weekday when they go blasting past. The really annoying thing this these assholes likely don't even understand how this works, they just handed some guy a stack of cash saying "Durrr...car go bang is fun...make mine do dis...here money"
@@kimriley2491 you sound like you just divorced, took all the money and the kids and you don't know what to do anymore, so you annoy people on the internet. Just get out lady
I have seen N/A brand new m series bmw before. Guy at a car show pulled out the turbos and completely rebuilt the motor and tuned it. It was a m6 and it sounded beautiful
Great sound after the exhaust, this car never really sounded like it should from factory, should have been more sporty and louder, but I don't like these fake exhaust sounds and crackles, I like them more natural and pure like the E46 M3s and E92 M3s on the overrun
why would you map a car to make that noise? Surley if it makes a noise like that then so be it. It should be mapped for performance then everything else is a byproduct?
@@matthewlock5833 its the same priciple as an ALS. Fuel is detonating in the exhaust. The overrun tune will extend the amount of time it takes for the turbo to spool down as its not enough of a detonation to act as an anti lag. Its not a replacement for an ALS but it does have a similar effect and works on a similar priciple
The guys at Biesse Racing did an amazing job on this BMW 1M 👌 - Listen to those pops and bangs! 🔥😍🔥

Crackle pops map would be nice if it was just a few crackle pops.
Yeah you have my point would be much better when it crackles much less and very very rare a huge one

Color in this car. Black paint very well done. Somebody painted extrelemely well. And somebody detailed the car. Great piece.
Crackle off is wayyyy better Than fake crackle
This sound is nuts!
best sounding N54. best sounding 1M

Una delle migliori M mai realizzate.
The sound of a naturally aspirated engine
But it’s twin turbo
Sounds great at high rpms
sounds very good but i prefer crackle pop map off :)
Wait what? Why are the front wheels rolling?
Thats what i said 😂

Those flames tho!

This car is turbocharged so it will actually help keep the turbo spooled
Zach Ogdahl I don’t think it’s anti-lag though, just stupid noises
@@Shepard_AU i agree. I dont think its a proper anti lag either
@@zachogdahl210 It'll do no such thing. Its just a little bit of extra unbrunt fuel on overrun. The only thing it'll do is make crackle noises.

That's the car from my Italy friend
Nice video
Getting a bit boring now, the crackling, every car has this, even Nissan Micra with 1.2 engine does the same thing...
is this bmw awd? i thought this type of bmw is rwd
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure these aren't normally AWD
Dyno
Captain Cheese The dyno spins also front wheels so the ABS system on the car doesn't go nuts
But how much power did it make?
Nada, unless it's got a turbo, there's no benefit - and even then it only reduces lag.
Is that awd or am I just crazy?
GiDD it’s the Dino not the car
It seems to me that all that energy simply going out the tail pipe is a bad thing in terms of efficiency and ultimate power.
The 1M is about having fun. Not so much about maximum power and efficiency :)
That being said, your observation is accurate
