Filling the Miracles 8020 Reef Tank - Aquaforest Reef Salt - Tropic Eden Sand

- Finally, all the hard work is completed and its time to fill the Miracles 8020 Reef Tank. I chose to fill the tank with Aquaforest Reef Salt and Tropic Eden Sand. I've had good result using Aquaforest salt on my other tanks and its very quick to mix. The one issue with the salt is it does tend to have a very light yellow color, versus other salts I have used, but not noticeable once the lights are on.
For the Sand, I used a mixture of Tropic Eden Mesoflakes (2.7mm) and Miniflakes (2.0mm). Even though I washed the sand I still had around 2 days of cloudy water that eventually cleared.

I like to mix the salt beforehand but I did have one tank where I forgot to premix the salt before adding but in the end, i guess it still gets to the same step. Cool video
Honestly, doesnt matter if it gets milky, only lasts a day or 2. good stuff man
Put extra filter floss and it will polish it in no time and like he said no matter it would clear out anyways

One thing I've found helps, I've got an old canister filter I stuff with layers of polyfill from walmart. after 24 hrs, there isn't a drop of milky sand left.

Great video that digital refractometer you need to warm that stainless steel disc up to the same temp that your water is to get the actual reading

Wear a mask when mixing salt. I ended up with a sinus infection when I mixed salt for my 200 gal.
