- How to replace windshield wipers on your car easily. The simple steps to changing your costco goodyear wiper blades without the confusing instructions. These blades can be a pain to install if you are following the instructions they give you and all the extra parts that come with the blades. The easiest way to change your blades is by watching this video because I make it simple and get straight to the point with what you need to do and how to do it. There are many wiper blades out there but I have found the costco goodyear blades can be more confusing as to how to install them. I cut out the crap and get straight to the installation information you need.

These Goodyears are a major pain. Why make something you must disassemble and then re-snap together? No instructions offered to tell anyone this either. Do they then come off? Or do you need to rip them off like you need to pull the snap-in piece out to put them on? BAAAAAD design. But good video.

Another tip.................... I always put a roll of paper towel on the windshield when changing wipers because if you accidentally hit the wiper arm and it hits the windshield you can crack your window.

Windshield wiper tutorials are a strange thing - you'd think it might be pretty straightforward, but there are so many variations that lots of people will leave dislikes on tutorial videos simply because (I imagine) they realized some tutorial didn't have exactly what they were using.

If you put the adapter on the blade first, then slide into the J channel, it's way easier than what you were doing. (In your case, all you had to do was slide it into the J channel. The adapter you needed was already on the blade. The instructions are VERY helpful if you're not using the pre-installed adapter.)
I did it that way but yes there are of course other ways to do it including leaving the connector on the blade and easily sliding it on

Gear video! But how to remove Hess stupid Goodyear wiper blade from the hook? Any suggestions? No info in the instruction. I can not find it on the web either. It should be Goodyear 's job. They did a terrible job.

It seems to me the ones you took off are simpler than the ones you are putting on. However I have the simple tab type on my car which I can't seem to remove, which is why I am watching videos. I can flip up the tab but the hook just doesn't come out that easy.
Depending on the vehicle you have taking the wipers off and putting the new wipers on are the biggest pain in the rear. I know the wiper blades you are speaking of and having done them many times they are not that difficult, however, with the proper leverage and pulling them the right way you can remove them and or install them quite easily.

Great tip as why not to buy these Goodyear wiper blades. I use Areo beam blades so easy to install.
they are actually very easy to install. I did it the hard way. wiper blades are very easy to install
@@DaylyDriverDayly I got some wipers installed at a Valvoline one time and couldn't get them off. I had to have a friend remove them for me. I will never get those kind again.

When you try to pull out, do you mean slide out?
the way I learned to do it I remove it and makes it easier. it's based on your learning style whether you wish to remove it or not
@@Ayumu88 you will need to use some strength to pull it off. yes, slide, pull whatever. break it if you have to since you will be replacing it anyways
I have Goodyear from costco years ago .. my friend installed them for me... Mine has no latch ??
Are they installed on your vehicle? If so, then they do have a latch. If you don't you will need to get new ones

NEVER leave the metal naked wiper to stand up unattended ! it takes the slightest breeze for it to retract and its enough force to crack your windshield ! i recommend putting a micro fibre towel down on point of contact just incase it were to close quickly.
The instructions are a little confusing because there are so many variants however; what you're doing is exactly what they tell you to do in the insturctions.
I looked at the instructions and didnt look again. easier to figure it out on my own

Daily Driver thanks for reply bud. Mine were different to point I just went into auto parts store and they got it done for me but even that was a struggle for them as well. I’ll try not to get those wiper blades again but they are common for Toyota supposedly
@@judge218 I mean there are different types of blades and attachments so they go on differently. generally older car wiper blades are harder to take off because they get rusty and stuck on. also can be more difficult to put on

Yeah, the instruction just isn't that obvious. Hey, it's actually easier than that if you lineup the wiper and that H-adapter (the part you squeezed into the wiper arm). At 2:02 of the video when you first made contact between the two parts...your wiper blade looks like its an 1/2 inch too low. From the side of the wiper blade you see 3 holes. The one in the middle is where the circular stubs are inside the wiper. On the H-adapter, there is 2 holes and a slot in between the 2 holes. The slot is where you want to lineup with the middle hole in the wiper where the stubs are. Hold the wiper parallel to the H-adapter as you have shown in 2:02 and press them together until you hear a snap. No funny angles when trying to push them together. Fyi, notice the 2 holes on the wiper lines up with the two holes on the H-adapter. Hint: before installing the wipers...one can practice snapping the H-adapter on and pulling it off the wipers. Oh, you might want to pull-off the plastic protector after the installation.
