Cool rundown! What made you go with a single skin vs ultralight mini wing? Have you been able to compare glide/penetration on your sir Edmund race to a 16m Pi or bantam?

I sometimes wish I had a bantam or similar. Better in stronger wind take offs. More penetration is for sure nice but in light wind take offs which I do a fair amount because I’m not super into flying in strong conditions this single skin wing is up and over your head in 2-3 steps. Even taken off with light back wind before too.

@@DaveSearle thanks for the info! Makes sense; you can’t beat a single skin for short takeoffs

Nice work there Gus and thanks Dave…have just subscribed…am about to buy a sir Edmund for flying the mountains on Dingle peninsular in Ireland …look great wings for the job 👍am assuming they do soar and thermal a bit at least?(Have a BGD base 2 for the XC days)…will be out snowkiting and touring in jan /feb around col du lautaret and want the Edmund for carrying around then aswell 🤙cheers Andy

Thanks Andy! Yeah they soar and thermal ok, not amazing for sure. Won’t be setting any xc records on it. It’s perfect for chucking in the bag for maybe using!
