I was around in the 90s when the original Rubies costumes came out. The original Keaton cowl was big enough for just about anyone but the quality varied greatly. I bought 4 until I got a good one. The Returns cowl was much tighter and was trouble for anyone with a head 23.5". Now days there's such a variety to choose from.
I remember them, but I wasn't cosplaying then. I have this one and the new PatBat one. It's hard not to tinker with them.Just because they weren't expensive doesn't mean we should damage them. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
I modified my patman cowl. I cut the throat piece off and cut the collar off. Also put some Eva foam on the inside to better fit. I used Velcro to reattach the pieces. There are tutorials on here for it.
Since I gave a friend of mine this cowl, he did have a bigger head, I decided to purchase another. It came today! Guess what? It fit WAAAY BETTER! I am looking forward to using it in my build. Stay tuned!
i got the rubies dark knight and the keaton one at walmart. i just have 2 so far. the dark knight walmart cowl fit me way better and seemed better to me than the keaton one. i got a big head. the dark knight fit good. i cant get the keaton one on. i feel like i would rip it. where the rubies dark knight one has a slit in the back with 3 velcro closures. i was real happy with the rubies dark knight cowl. i did a video of that cowl recently. fits so good. nice collection bro. i like rubies. i do have trick or treat studios stuff also. and i am into this new brand of masks aqkilo. i got tons of their mask and i do videos on tons of them. 6 dollars and 9 dollars. just insane. i got 2 more on the way. i collect zombie masks also. but ya since this the batman cowl is loose on you. it means it might fit me.

I went to Amazon to find the first cowl that you said wasn’t made of latex and the one I found that looked like what you had was made from PVC. That’s the one that you talked about right? I don’t know what PVC is when discussing it in this way. I’m only familiar with PVC pipes with the hard plastic.
Did I say PVC? Been a while since I made this. I might be urethane, but whatever it is, it’s stiffer than what fan makers use. It must also shrink over time because I can’t get my head into it at all now. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.
Another fine addition to your collection sir. Surprised to hear how roomy it was. Also, I saw your earring right before you pulled it on and was like “OH NO…” You ever had any problems pulling a cowl over that?
LOL! Oh No was right! Post earrings can be tricky, but usually I'll take them out. I wear them so often that I forget sometimes, then PAY! LOL! Thanks for watching!
Nothing yet. I put this project on the backburner a while ago. Rustic Dad made a really good video on how to alter this cowl for a better fit, since it is HUGE even on a big head like mine. I bought an extra one to experiment on. The other is put away, like my 89 Keaton. This is one of the many cool things I've seen on Rustic Dad's channel. You should check him out!
I like the overall detail but like other Rubies masks I've collected wearing them looks like it'd be a challenge. I've got a movie Flash, and two Batfleck masks, one child one adult and the masks are either too big or too small. I have a relatively small head for an adult but still bigger than kids. Still, good video.
Thanks Joe! There is a cowl I bought off Amazon for The Dark Knight that was cool, but WAAAAY to small for my head. 23.5". Asian sizes might be your best bet, unless you commission a special size. Thanks for watching.
Sorry, but I can't seem to find it. Fan creators who work on commission have been being shut down by WB with cease and desist orders. Web pages, online stores, all of it is disappearing. This happened a few years back and most went out of business. The same is probably happening now. Your best bet is to try FB Marketplace for used pieces, but everything will sell at a premium now, because there won't be anything new in circulation. Good luck and please keep watching and subscribe.
@@J48k I think it depends on your head size. Another BatBro who belongs to a page I am on looks great in his and he did not pad it. my 23.5 head still had room. I think this is the perfect cowl for us guys who have bigger heads.

That's actually a good question. All of the cowls i have except the 89 Keaton made by Hernandez Sculptures EFX are a flat black or variations of. Both the 89 Rubies and the The Pat Bat are a dusty flat black. How they appear in the video is true to their color in person. Thanks for viewing!
