I know Gary was in a lot of different stuff over the years, voice roles and all that.
I remember him most from his role as one of Two Racing Announcers in the original
Herbie The Love Bug from 1969.
He was the commentator of the "Yosemite Valley" stage of the final "El Dorado" road race .
Famed NBA and L.A. Lakers commentator ,Chick Hearn ,was also in the film as the one doing the coverage in the "Virginia City" stage.
The openings and announcing work he did in his role on Laugh In were absolutely priceless.

The Show is AWESOME! I remember how many folk used catch phrases, Like "Sock It To Me" , "He Pushed Me, He Pushed Me"! It was the first show I ever saw on tv, and I was three at the time, from then it was on tv until the end, I forgot how funny it was, until I looked it up one day about two years ago! I LOVE it! And I LOVE a lot of the Music used as well!

There were some Gary Owens Special Reports that were played on the radio in the 70's. They were short 2-minute,sketches that were hilarious. Off the top of my head I remember one about Gunga Din (pronounced Deen) who became a thief using a Jimmy, so now that loveable Indian boy has a sausage named after him. I had a friend in radio who gave me a cassette of several of them, but you know how cassettes fall apart.
