WOW! I am so glad RUclips is here - I have discovered so many new groups, music genre and just plain beautiful music and information. I do not watch TV nor do I listen to the radio - hurts my eyes and ears! This is my entertainment in the evening, have had my fill of party days and nights and weekends and glad to say I survived and am still functioning!
Amazing that black metal and folk both can convey the same emotion/appeal to the same crowd. Most people wouldn't give the metal a chance to see that parallel though. This is a great album.
I love how most people would never consider that the majority of Dark Folk artists share a mutual fanbase with Black Metal fans. To be honest it should not be surprising though. So many BM bands have experimented with folk elements since its inception.
you are right.. i suppose that is because the same roots that both genres do have, I mean not the musical roots - but rather the very idea and the emotions that both of these styles do contain and transfer. .the mystery, the nature, the wilderness.They do speak about the same things - in different languages.
Folk and Neofolk are way better in transmitting '.the mystery, the nature, the wilderness', then B.M.! And, have much more emotions and feelings in it, in a wide spectre, not a thigh spectre, like black metal!
