    That is some pretty intense Wudang gongfu.

    If it connected with bone, you might well be right. However if you look closely you will see that he is alternating striking with all of fists, open palm and fingers, which is a decidedly better practice than only striking with a fist. For most people in fact, striking with the fist is far more likely to result in injury to the striker than would striking with an open palm.

    Wudang arts are where the internal palm comes from. More on flow and body unity and knowing how and when to use power. Unlike karate or muay thai you dont block with hard force or attack that way. You are your opponent. Just saying. Awesome

    • @BenWangChongLong
      @BenWangChongLong  10 лет назад +6

      Grover Diamond Thank you! There are many different approaches on how wudang internal martial arts are passive, redirecting, absorbing or soft. Wudang traditions have plenty of methods to it, that makes it different from external kungfu. The ultimate goal is an open minded, unintentional, individual reaction to the present. No anticipation! No thinking! Pure being, pure reaction. We believe that to one attack there are 10000 possible and useful reactions. We just have to get rid of fear, anticipation and other thoughts. Open eye: cat like. just?... well, anyway, it is difficult to get there...

      @@BenWangChongLong I think this exercise is more medicinal than martial. If you look closely, he keeps one hand by the body while the other goes out. This seems to me organ cleansing.

      Well, enjoy then! Wudang exploding movements and powers are very versatile and profound. There is an immense quantity of theory and practice about it. There are different way and powers and qualities of Fali and Fajin. Also there are different levels to practice from only relaxed but physical power towards those with more internal energy aiming at pressure points and so much more. This video really is just a little glimpse into that world. A great one indeed. I like that video a lot as well. Master Wang is just powering through the whole video. He is indeed amazing, i agree! hehe!

      @BenWangChongLong  6 лет назад

      Hehe yes indeed. Those subbed sounds are funny. My favourite sounds are in the old Wang Yu movies or "Flying Guillotine vs. One Armed Boxer". Actually his sleeves do give a nice whipping sound when he cuts through the air. Maybe I should upload some source material for you. I could send some to you via WeTransfer. Just for the fun of it. I feel you here in this one. ;-)

    sorry guys, but the music can't satisfy everyone. I just wanted to have a soundtrack which emphasises the dynamic of the video. For me fali and fajin is always the powerful and explosive part of the wudang arts. Maybe you like the soundtrack of the latest video (Wudang Kungfu - Wudang Iron Palm) better.

    • @WudangDragongate
      @WudangDragongate 5 лет назад +1

      We don't believe in teaching with DVD's much. That's why we still keep teaching in person. Especially Fali/Fajin would need much more direct feedback and correction, that a DVD's could never give you. Please write to dragongatekungfu@gmail.com to check other options that would be worth to consider for you. best regards

      +Jesse Bacon hahaha what? Did you like it? This video shows only the fast fali of wudang kungfu, the exploding movements. Normally these are built in to just as much slow, round and flowing movements. Fali is for attacking quickly, like an animal, to overwhelm the opponent. There are three different levels of fali, leading to more and more advanced levels of mastership. Here you see it as a training method, just as shadow boxing without anything to hit just in the air. There are kinds of fali that are much more dangerous, but look much smaller, almost unexisting and very very unimpressive for video. Although these here are used to develop the important basics of fali.
