The best friend song actually hits me like a truck. I have a best friend since high school. We ended up in the same college so we rent out a house together to stay.
We have different major, so we ended up in different class. Both of us is quite busy with our college work but we sometimes spend time together at night to buy meals or go to a caffee to have some fun, or watch movies, etc.
At some point, I’m going to graduate, while he is still working on his study. He suggested to me that we should rent a separate place from now on. I guess I did kind of bring the topic, but I am little bit shocked that he immediately agree, to the point that he even got a new place ready for him to move. I thought, that’s just because he have a new group of friends closer to his circle, so he didn’t want to rent a place together. I also finally got a job. I kind of feel rejected at that time.
Now, looking back after seeing this sketch, I think my friend acted like Jordan here. He wanted to force me to become more independent and responsible in life, because I guess I’m just too dependent on him at that time, it could affect my future because I was supposed to go find a job after graduating, but I don’t have the courage to find job 😂. So, it’s actually quite similar on how Jordan tried to be a little bit cringey and annoying, and it was intentional.
In my perspectives, Key actually listened to Jordan’s advices all this time, he just have a high pride to accept this (quite relatable with me). So Key left. But the ending was actually what Jordan have in mind and it was all planned by him in order for Key to have more confidence in himself. All for his friend to have more confidence in his life. I didn’t expect the sketch to be so deep for me.
I'm sure they're busy guys, so it's nice they still do these skits for their fans.

I love how the whole sketch is set up. Jordan with the bongs, sitting on the sofa, messy room. Clearly displays a more relaxed, care free character. Keegan with the caffeine, standing up while pacing and jumping about, tidy house, wanting a scheduled time. Clearly a more active, productive go getter who takes life more seriously, however clearly more stressed. And then the whole conversation is how these two life styles produce such different perspectives on the same interaction. Over all it is a criticism of the stress produced by that productive life style and how we as humans need to find that mix of bings and coffee. Beautiful stuff boys.
