  • U.S. Air force F-15E Strike Eagle's land on the taxiway at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Feb. 13, 2024. This training was done to simulate landing in austere environments to exercise agile combat skills.

    We would have alternate runway drills on our taxiways at least monthly in the '80s at Kunsan AB, ROK. 😉

    You can see there are no landing aids so he had to literally eye that

    I always buzz the tower first, if they tell me to land on a taxiway. Just to let them know their cab is here.
    Then when I roll up to the curb, no pax in sight. Fine by me. They would have barfed in my plane, because I would have made them, but yeah that.

    @ 00:25 , the pilot should have deployed the landing parachute.

      The F-15 Eagle does not have landing parachutes.😉

      @@Darknamja - thanks for the good laugh... but who knows, maybe there's some new austere landing bolt-on accessory parachute kit?? It would be cool to see : )

      F-15E dont have drag chutes and second the pilot keep the nose high is calling aerodynamic braking which does the same thing
