“Instead of a problem, think of it as an opportunity to learn” what a great mindset!!
Also I loved hearing about the cultural differences esp with the leftover debacle 😂 I’m on your mom’s side about not wasting the farmers work!

You have a very neutral accent when you speak English that makes you very easy to listen to. Most Filipinos (and Thais) have very strong accents. If I phone a big company and get connected to a call centre in the Philippines, I know it 99% of the time from the agent's accent. With you, it's not obvious, which is pretty amazing.

That’s cool to know! My accent changes depending on who I’m talking to, but on RUclips, I try to keep a neutral accent.
The goal is to share helpful and valuable information to as many people as I can.😁
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎄🎉

@@travelwithjamrell Does that mean you can sound like a Filipina when speaking English if you want to?

Nice to learn more about your background & experiences! I am certain it will help others, who seek to follow in your footsteps!
Working in other countries is certainly a challenge, primarily because of the differences in culture. As I think back on my own past, the number of times I commited various faux pas is simply staggering. Ouch!
I agree that language skills are important. So much of each country's unique culture & mindset is conveyed via its language and ofttimes does not translate correctly/adequately into another language, esp. into English. If you seek a successful career in a foreign country, you need to become proficient in the language, in order to properly communicate.
With regards to formal education & certifications, I also agree that, for many career fields, these are much less important than the unique skills & experiences which you, as an individual, can bring to the table. This is particularly true in the creative fields. Ideally, you should have a college degree, but most employers care only that you proved your discipline by completing the work to get the degree - the actual field of study is not as important.
Getting a foot in the door, in an entry level position, proving yourself in an actutal work environment, working your way up, and continuing to improve/extend your education/skills along the way can indeed be far more profitable, career-wise, than over-indulging in a specific formal education before hitting the job market. One of my former colleagues started out with just a 2-year associate degree, in a low-level, low pay, night shift, tech support position in a media company, but, through years of self-motivation and hard work, became highly successful, incl. holding a position as a VP at one of the world's best-known creative entertainment companies.
Dream high, work hard, keep learning... and never settle for less! :)
    Merry Christmas!

@@michaeltakayama8415 Thanks so much! My goal with my vlogs and everything I share online is to help others, so it really means a lot to hear that.
Honestly, I’m glad I’m not the only one making mistakes. 😂 Working abroad can be tough at times, especially when you make mistakes without even realizing it because of cultural differences. But I guess that’s also what keeps life here exciting and full of surprises!
I’ve always believed in having a growth mindset and that learning shouldn’t stop after school. Maybe it’s because both my parents are teachers, or maybe I’m just a nerd. 😅 But I truly enjoy learning, especially when you can see progress and it’s something you’re passionate about.
Thank you for always watching my vlogs, and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! 🎄🎁

I’m in the process of scheduling an interview with a teacher! What would you like to know about international schools in Thailand?

    • @jnsa9454
      @jnsa9454 Месяц назад +1

@travelwithjamrell interested in all of it 😀...tips for applying, demands of teaching at their school, what teacher qualities and skills schools value, spoken and unspoken expectations from school admin, work-life balance, frustrating/hard parts of job, perks working in intl school, adjustments teacher had to make from previous teaching situations to intl school, what to expect from students and parents, what teacher likes most about teaching intl school, things to "watch out for" be cautious about if any...
      Thanks for considering these questions👍🏽

You know my ex girlfriend was the same in thiland she was using bleach shampoo, i told her she is beautiful with her natural skin. And when she stopped using it her skin was much better and she was happy and healthy, i dont understand why asian country like thailand have this white skin obsession, tourist go there because they like darker asia skin girls , its more attractive to us than what we are used to . Ask anyone from Britain etc they will tell you darker skin is more sexy , thats why everyone here is trying to get dark skin laying on sunbeds because our skin is too white and clammy 😅

I totally get you! Unfortunately, there is still this mindset in Asia that if you have pale skin, you're wealthy because you don't have to do manual labor in the fields/under the heat of the sun.
There's still some truth to this, but times are changing and if you're tanned now, it means you have more money and time to go on vacation instead of being in the office all day hahaha 😂🏖
