It's homebrewing and a hobby. Don't need a all sorts of things. There are people on RUclips that will say brewing all grain is not necessary. Glycol chillers, stainless steel conicals or whatever are perfectly fine options if that is what you want to use. End of the day, a chamber will give you the best temp controll, but can be really unwieldy if you want the ability to independently ferment or lager multiple batches at the same time on different schedules.

My glycol chiller is 20 in x 20in x 16 in. 3 pumps with separate controllers. I can keep my 14 gallon chronical fermenter at 50°F. Meanwhile, I can also keep my 10 gallon brite tank at 34°F. I can then start a brew and bring my boil kettle from boil temp to 80° in about 35 minutes. I live in Austin Texas and during the summer or pretty much anytime; there’s absolutely no way to maintain those temperatures without a glycol chiller. And the thought of putting a chest freezer in the space that I used to brew and much the less lift the weight of those vessels isn’t feasible. Nice equipment is not an eminence front.
