for those who are wondering about purchasing this cube: i was one of the first backers for this product and they've sent many updates to us regarding production. as you saw in z3's video, there were a lot of quirks involving the electronics. the team behind the afterlife cube spent a huge amount of time and effort refining and re-engineering the electronics to get them just right before final production. they also had to switch factories for other reasons. in addition, the chip shortage has prolonged the wait. yes, its still not available to purchase as no units have actually been mass produced yet. but you have to understand, they want to make sure this product is good and ready before they complete the final cube. like waiting for a good game; you don't want to rush the progress and risk releasing something that's buggy and falls apart. good things come to those who wait, and the afterlife cube is no exception. i am still very excited to receive this cube later this year, as they have said should the cube should ship. if not, ill still wait because its worth waiting for!
I imagine the orientation that turns the centers off, may be so you can fully turn off the cube, to save battery and the lights longevity. There might be a better way they could implement that but it is only a prototype currently.
There’s probably gonna be later versions, so I think the creator(s) add more colours, or different colours indicating different things (a completely off peace being the wrong place, a blue face being on the right side but wrong place, and a fully green peace being correct place
I have never been to Colorado, until today. I’m from the northeast, but this morning I flew out to Denver and I wanna say, You have a lucky home state!
As far as the all corners wrong, all edges right pattern, you can do 3x sexy move, flip the cube 180 around F, 3x sexy move, to get to it from a solved cube. Since 3x sexy swaps the corners on the front-left edge and the top-rear edge, and turning the cube 180 puts those in front-right and bottom-rear.
I can barely follow along when you are solving regular cubes so I am 100 percent not able to follow on this cube….but I appreciate the confidence though 😂🙌🏽
We can’t as well. 🤐 😅 Since it’s a PROTOTYPE, the hardware has nothing to deal with the final product. It’s just a concept that demonstrates the idea. Any structural limit or light flickering is due to this unit being just a concept. BTW, if this is what the prototype can withstand, think the quality the final product will have if you’ll help us to reach the mass production!! 💪

I think having multiple game modes will increase the longevity of someone using it and make it more appealing to everyone, the advanced cubers to newbies. Multiple color modes could also be like a pretty light show to have in your room in the dark or whatever.

Exactly, that’s a prototype!! It was just an easy way to integrate an off status in the proto.

Actually, each piece only has to know which centers it borders, then it can "find out" if it's in the correct location.
It also needs to know its orientation
