How educational thanks liquor store bros
IPAs change dramatically after the first week then the flavor plateaus until a few months later and then it loses a lot of the hop flavor
I had a special edition Old Rasputin in my fridge for over a decade. Literally. Cracked it open and it was smooth as hell. It was GREAT. Whether it was still the intended flavor? Who knows, but it was delicious even after THAT LONG!
Old Rasputin rocks!
I watch because the content is interesting but more importantly because you guys are original. It is beyond refreshing to see a couple of dudes running their own youtube channel how they want, providing the content and information they think is the best! Quality content across the board.
Something to keep in mind. Some beers actually become better versions of themselves the longer you wait. This isn’t specific to any 1 beer type but in the example of the 3F beer. Sometimes fresh isn’t best. That specific beer will continue to evolve 3,5,10,20 years out. KBS is another one, I remember the 2016 edition when it first came out was super boozy and having had that same batch a year ago it was really mellow and enjoyable. Also I wouldn’t let anything in a can go longer than a year or 2, the liner starts to break down after a while and becomes infused with the liquid.
Lots of non domestics are meant to be cellared for years. I've had a few domestics that were undrinkable until they aged a few years too..The Dark Fatha was one I can distinctly remember being too boozy and almost astringent with just a few months on the shelf, but sitting for two years tasted more like a booze infused chocolate cake.
@@mikehannigan848 Its less to do with where the beer was made and more to do the style. I have plenty of domestics that age perfectly well. As previously mentioned KBS ages gracefully. Bourbon county’s are another. Both are barrel aged stouts however there are a lot of beers from Allagash, Hill farmstead, side project, SARA, Jester King, etc… that are saisons or wild fermented ales that age even longer than most stouts. All of the mentioned are domestic beers. IPA’s, lagers, browns, reds, pilsners, heavily adjunct beer (most anyway), etc.. are things I wouldn’t age, or age too long.
I'm learning a lot. Thanks guys. :-)
I'm a non beer geek working at a micro brewery, so this is super helpful actually.
I'm trying to catch up to my beer geek collègues.
You guys ever tried Veltins or Krombacher ?
Had a bottle of one of the GoT beers in my fridge. It was opened but sealed with cellophane food wrap and a cork. I forgot about it for years. Then one night during drinking it was the only beer left in the house. Poured the stout in a glass and it was still delicious.
Thanks man good stuff
I had a beer from 1989 recently. It was delicious
Not to mention after a long time the alcohol (if it’s canned beer) will start dissolving the BPA lining in the can and putting more micro plastics into your beer.
I love the taste of microplastics I feel like a sea turtle gnawing on a plastic bag
Please do reviews on milk!!! My family is so thirsty for milk!!!
"your family" lol as if...
@@candidfob8423what you mean? People have family
Goat milk is da best
Andrew, What field watch do you have on?
For people that don't know, all your huge domestic beers like Coors, Bud, PBR, ECT, are all adjunct Lagers.
Bought a 6 pack of Guinness when I turned 21, left one to remember. It's 5 years old now and it's good to know I MIGHT die if I drink it. If I don't edit this, I died.
RIP
@@gatchrocks I feel like you called it early on him man but after 9 days he’s definitely dead.
Rest easy amigo. Your contribution to science will not be forgotten.
I have some Guinness that is about 4 years old. Will it still taste good?
I had some 7 year old Anchor Steam beer last year and it turned out to taste ok. Kind of pissed off that the liquor store sold me that stuff. I had to google the code on the back since it didnt have actual date stamps.
I see the lotion bottle under your desk Andrew.
Go Noles!
It’s also fun when actors find “aged wine” in 100+ years of storage and hit the bottle to the face saying how fantastic it is.
All I can think about is how they would actually get sick and in an apocalyptic setting would have just lowered their chance of survival. Plus, it would be awful without prep lol.
That's a lot to take in
💥 tell us about NewCastle beer and how Heineken ruined a great beer. 😮
Shoutout to Edmunds
just finished watching the video, already forgot half of it :c
when I hear "too old" I'm assuming its no longer safe to drink.
which you didn't really get into it
I can't imagine any beer would become unsafe after a year if everything's still sealed.
if beer is to old or tastes to skunky, still keep it. they are good for soaking your brats in. personally the skunkier the beer the better the brats will be.
And that’s why it’s recorded 😂
off color brewing represent
I have a Corona bottle {full} from 2003, just under 20 years old. I bet it tastes horrible!!
Shopkeepers shouldn't sell expired beer, its of lower quality. in fact i encourage you to report such behavior to whoever brewed the beer, as they will likely make them stop
If you sell me a 6 year old beer in your store and tell me it’s ok, we are fighting right there.
You should throw away beer once it no longer has its optimal flavor profile if you’re a retailer. Shame on you for not doing so. Who cares that it won’t make you sick from drinking it?? If the product has degraded in quality to a noticeable extent it should be scrapped so your customers know you sell fresh , high quality products. Your attitude is both smug & contemptible
Optimal flavour profile is subjective. Some people aim for aged beer.
I don't see the problem with aging beer in a shop as long as you are transparent about it. That just takes away a lot of hassle for the customer
Also is it bad to age a bottle of wine or spirits? Their flavour profiles change as well
Some constructive feedback. I personally don’t think the skit format is necessary or helpful for the video. It’s something people do when they are not yet comfortable being on camera. I think you would benefit by just trying to convey information in a more natural way, and that ironically takes more time to execute than playing a rehearsed bit. I think you should try just converting the information to the camera like 30-40 times and then going through them and picking the one you like, and do this until you get used to the skill of interacting with yourself in a digital format enough that you can feel fully comfortable speaking to the camera on the first try.
You expect them to do 30-40 takes on every video they make and completely change the formula that has been successful for them?
Where are your videos proving how successful this technique works, I went to your channel and couldn't find any?? Or have you not made any videos yourself and are being critical on something you have no knowledge on?
