    The cops want money anyone who opens a door for you wants money. Nothing is done out of true kindness they all want money. They hound you at tourist spots it’s so uncomfortable and they upcharge you if you’re a foreigner. I was very shocked to see Ghanaian prices and non Ghanaian prices. The seashell guy at the castle is still there I went there yesterday and he did the same thing to us.

    Hey I wanted to visit Ghana because I have a friend she lives in Sunyami. I was worried and concerned about the safety overall since I might be traveling alone from America. I know they require passport, visa, yellow fever, of course plane ticket. I will be in Accra I am worried about people scamming me. Also driving from Accra to Kumasi, to Sunyami. Also I where could I get malaria medicine? Sunscreen?

    • @brownboytravels
      @brownboytravels  2 года назад +2

      Honestly man, be vigilant and do go out after dark and you’ll be fine. Also don’t flash anything expensive including, people are warm and friendly overall.
      For sunscreen and malaria tablets I took my own. For Kumasi you can fly from Accra to Kumasi and then hire a car, try some local company like Black Root tours if you want a guide or want to be accompanied 😊
      It’s a beautiful country, have loads of fun

    Nice video
    I like ppl who explore, but I have a few things to say.
    First, it's not Chi, but Twi.
    Please learn or try to pronounce it well
    Also, the local you were with should have thought you well but you probably didn't ask any questions to know more about the history of the language.
    Twi is not just by the Ashantis, it is spoken by the Akan ethnic group. However, there are different dialects in every tribe. Ashanti is a tribe, which is part of the Akan Ethnic group.
    Moreover don't expect the Internet to work like who it does outside. MTN and Vodafone works depending on where you are. Although they are developing WiFi properties, its more of sim cards to phones with other things like Internet bundles attached to it. If you want a WiFi or legit Internet connection, you can order one to be set up for you.
    Moreover, I can see you came to Ghana thinking like the system is like outside or something, otherwise you wouldn't have been surprised about the downside, and about when the police asked you for money. I'm not saying its good, but there's a downside to every country, which is even worse than Ghana.
    Furthermore, like other international ppl, I still don't understand why yall underestimate mosquitoes in Africa. Most of yall just open the windows or doors like nothing. This is Africa, protect yourselves, close the doors and windows at night, please!
    Hmm, You just don't understand the way we live.

    • @brownboytravels
      @brownboytravels  Год назад

      I clearly upset you which was not my intention. The idea is to warn other (unprepared) tourists like me rather than insulting a beautiful country. If I knew all this I’d be better prepared.
      For the languages and history, I can only tell what I have learnt, thanks for adding on to it, I’ll try and read more about it for the next visit.
      If only I had you during my visit, I’d be a much better tourist to Ghana

    Telll who ever sent you that they have failed. I hope you have done the same video about India or Pakistan whatever country you migrated from to Uk. Did you hear any arm rubbery when you were there?
    There are thousands of beaches which stretch from Accra to the Western Region, how many of them did you actually vist for you to have the impurity to say that the beaches are all filty. Have you done the same video about the beaches in India or Pakistan
    where you migrated from?

    • @brownboytravels
      @brownboytravels  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for making it racial. Feel free to check my videos I speak the same way about each country.
      If you have a problem I’d recommend lifting a bag and organise a beach clean up.
      You also need to check my vlogs where I clearly showed some gorgeous beaches from around Accra and Volta.
      Being stupidly nationalist and tribalist hurts the country tries we love. Viva la Ghana ❤️

My dad and I am in the progress of filling out a visa application and we got the guestion of host and name. And the embassy is not helping us alot. the police do ask for money, sometimes creating a fake traffic stop to extort you but it's not much and you should take some change with you for those occasions. One police woman pulled us over and said she was hungry so I said let me buy you lunch. It's good practice to pay them the small money if for nothing else but the goodwill. They see that you are obloni and can get some money from you. If you have an experienced driver he will avoid most of those encounters.
