Not his fault that the team never helped him out. He kept them in every game. When the rangers beat the Canadiens, the clinching game was 1-0 and Dominic Moore scored the only goal. The “big guns” would always disappear. Fleury was great and they are both top 10 goalies, but fleury heavily benefited from being on those stacked Penguins teams. Lundqvist never had teams like that.
Seeing this list is why being in the HOF means more than championships. All of these players are legendary talents and things just didnt hapoen to fall their way championship-wise. Many have won rings. Few make the HOF

One non-soccer player I can think of is Bob Skipton of the VFL/ AFL won the Brownlow’s (the equivalent of a MVP) and won 9 club champion titles (for which the award is now named after). If there was an Australian version of this, then Nathan Buckley who both played for then coached the Collingwood team in Aussie Rules Football would be near the top of the list. He won just about every reward there is in his sport, but he never won a championship in his playing career between 1993 and 2007. The closest his team got was in 2002 when Collingwood lost the final by less than two goals and Nathan was even rewarded the medal for being the best player on that day. As coach the closest his team got to winning a championship was in 2018 by less than one goal in the final.

Mark Martin. He was runner up FIVE TIMES. 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2009. And he still never won the big one. And the drivers he was runner up to are considered by many the greatest, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Jimmie Johnson. The best example of his greatness is in 1998. In 33 races that season he had a phenomenal 26 top 10 finishes, of which 22 of those were top 5 finishes, and 7 wins overall. The problem? Jeff Gordon.
