I love everything about Calgary The best city in the world in terms of how nice people are here. Low taxes, not much traffic, affordable houses, cheap car insurance, beautiful scenery, high standard of living, plenty of bars list goes on.
@@nopressure9383 you can't predict Calgary weather sometimes it snows sometimes its summer again thats because of the rocky mountains and chinook. Its -37 today fucking cold.
@Merc We actually have one of the lowest property taxes in Canada AND no land transfer fee (which saves you thousands when buying a home!). Houses are affordable, you can buy newer condo's for under $350k and single family homes in the suburbs around the mid $400's. If you bought a condo for $300k and put 10% down, mortgage payments would be around $1200/mo so it's not too bad!
I wanted to ask some questions abt calgary bec my parents want me to marry someone who lives there and im so confused. I've never stepped a foot in canada generally. Is there someone who can answer my queries truthfully?
I heard that most people pay around 250-300 Cad a month for car insurance if they do not have enough experience in driving while others who has a looooot of experience pay appoximately 150 Cad. I am in Calgary I feel like it’s not cheap at all. What about other provinces, do they pay much more???
@Bip Nop "I don't want to do any of these things that people recommend I should do!!!" "Calgary is boring as fuck as there's nothing to do!!!!" Seems I've found the problem.

I went to Calgary Alberta in December for my Vacation and I ❤it I would love ❤to go and visit there again soon God willing Inshallah I said that Calgary is better than Toronto and better than Montreal.
Wow. Some great ideas, but some really bad errors! The island in the Bow River is Princess Island, not Prince’s Island. You have not mentioned the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth - the Calgary Stampede! 10 days of western exhibits, rodeo, chuck wagon races, fair, midway, and it all starts with a huge parade, the first Friday of July. The whole city goes ‘western’ for 10 days. You can have a free pancake breakfast every day! Don’t forget your cowboy boots, and stetson hat, Heritage park has many more attractions than mentioned, such as the antique steam train, the early 20th century town site, and Gasoline Alley. Another place to see when close to the city is the ‘Big Rock’ of Okotoks. It is the largest glacial erratic in the world. Don’t forget to visit COP, and see the memories of the 1988 Winter Olympics.

Calgary is very similar to Russia. Brutally cold, expensive and hot in the summer. The economy depends on oil and gas. And flu season is horrible. Weird sicknesses every winter. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere more hospitable.
@Bip Nop I think it can be colder there, certainly it's muggy and a sauna sometimes in the summer which I found untenable. That's one positive about YYC, the heat is bearable. I'm only here for the $$ if I had my way I'd be elsewhere.
I have seen about 5 videos on things to do in Calgary along with another 4-5 walking tours of downtown Calgary and it seems like the most mundane, utilitarian and boring city.
if you are into hiking then Calgary has some pretty cool places. Elbow falls, Trolls fall, A lot of camping spots. The bow river is cool to canoe on. Fish creek park is really relaxing and a good spot to exercise at. Downtown is full of crackheads. The libraries... relaxing and chill. Especially the Central library
They talk about it 20 seconds in. I don't mind they didn't specifically mention on their list thought. Living in calgary for 15 years, by about year 7, I couldn't stand the Stampede, all the fake cowboys who have never ridden a horse in their life, and the barfy smelling Nashville north tent. From there on in, I always booked time off work to leave the city until it was over.
I wanted to ask some questions abt calgary bec my parents want me to marry someone who lives there and im so confused. I've never stepped a foot in canada generally. Is there someone who can answer my queries truthfully?
West Edmonton mall is so fun. So much to do. Only been there like 2 times. I live in Calgary. Also I heard brooks is kind of bad. Just want to hear another persons opinion, besides my girlfriend who lives there
These are not the top 10 things to do in Calgary, the zoo yes,Banff, the Calgary tower, the saddledome, nicks steak house, the Jewish cafe, the irish pub,the winter club, downtown, the airport is unreal, the Christmas lights, the malls
@4:56 that curved glass one there was supposed to be two of them but since oil drop no more and this next recession that is coming s going to be worse god be with us all (Alberta wants to be rich again but sanctions)
There was also supposed to be a 64 story tower to go with the 41 story First Canadian Center (Bank of Montreal) back in the early ‘80’s. Dome Petroleum was supposed to occupy most of that tower. Because of the recession of ‘82/‘83’ the project was shelved and they capped around six stories of parade with a park at street level! Because of that recession, I moved to San Francisco ... and have never looked back!
