I love RUclips. It's more interesting than a 30 second video and it's more inspiring. Instagram reels put me in a comparison frame of mind and doesn't inspire me at all. I miss when Insta was just all photos and no influencers. Now it just feels like an app I use to look at ads for an hour.
I found a local journaling community after I moved to a new town, and we have meetups at least once a month where we all bring our journals/planners, fountain pens, stamps, stickers, etc and get to enjoy time journaling together as a community. It's the best! I look forward to those meetups each month, and they're an important part of my social life now.
I love the longer, chatty videos. I'm a SAHM, so I'm able to pop my headphones on and "hang out" with my youtube besties while I do my work around my home. I actually make it a point to never get on Reels, as I find them to be a waste of time for me! Thank you for indulging us with your creativity!
I will probably always share. I’m a stay at home mom in a very small, rural area. It’s hard to connect with folks but connecting with other journalers has really helped me while my kiddos are little!
Cute setup ❤ I still like RUclips because it feels less rushed than watching a reel/short. I also believe that we should create for us first regardless of the views/likes.
I LOVE these longer chill videos. They are perfect for putting on in the background while I do my own art journaling. Please keep them up, your style is so calming ❤❤
Just popping in here to say I enjoy long-form content!! Especially journal related. A lot of times I just let a video play while I'm journaling. Or while I'm doing dishes or laundry or something. And I think there are probably a lot of other people who do that too.
RUclips - I really do prefer to all others. And I agree with those saying shorts and reels are just too chaotic. It's almost training us to have short attention spans. I want to sit back and chill with you tube.
Team RUclips here 🙋🏽♀️ just this week I deleted IG and TT because I noticed my attention span was really struggling and I want to consume more long form content. Love the new set up and great journal tips for me as a beginner. Thank you!
Team RUclips 1000% And I pay for premium ✨ Reels and shorts are too chaotic and they require me to stop and stare at my phone. YT allows me to spend time with my “imaginary friends” whether I’m journaling or folding the laundry 😂 Thanks for being here 👋🏻
I love this...its like we are journaling together and I have been listening to you for years and you always encourage and inspire...if I dont finish a video I leave it and come back...and I am going to watch every one you make...long or short daily weekly or yearly! Keep them coming...I do not need any immediate satisfaction. I know I am 60 but you and I are cut from the same cloth in the creative department and to me that is all that matters!
Hi Anji! Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to hear that my videos do feel like we're journaling together and that they've been a source of encouragement and inspiration for you over the years. Your support means everything to me, and it's wonderful to know that you'll be watching, no matter the length or frequency of the videos.🥹I'm so glad we're on this journey together. I'll definitely keep them coming! Thanks again for your kind words and for being such an amazing part of this community! 😊📓❤❤
Fussy cutting magazines for my collage is my fave thing to do! I use most of all my cut pieces in my art journaling but started sprinkling some in my junk journal and daily journal. Thank you for the reminder! My problem is I go thru the whole magazine and then "store" all my pieces and then get so overwhelmed with all these drawers of words and pics lol!! YT is my all time favorite place. I stopped my IG awhile ago just because it wasn't doing anything for me anymore, I stopped enjoying it. I also stopped making videos on YT because I woild feel guilty if I didn't post. Maybe I'll start up again one day. My friends and I were just talking about staged journaling and planners at our crop yesterday! We all agreed we do not have time to do that along with our real journals🤣 I get it for social media and design team scenarios but I gotta keep up with my own journaling for myself!! Loved watching you play!
RUclips all day every day if I am here I am watching...I pay for the Red and have since they began offering it...this is where I find all the things that I do and that entertain and answer questions...
I love the longer videos, 30-45 min is my sweet spot. I rarely watch shorts. I am new to your channel but look forward to your videos. I was kind of bummed when the new instagram algorithm started out. But I post mainly for myself and everything I do is because I enjoy doing it. I would love to have more interaction but it is what it is.
I stumbled upon the former Filofax community, which all had blogs about how they used their system. It was so fascinating to see the differences in the internet then vs. now. Their intentions were completely different, and the interface has changed so much now that it's difficult to be motivated or to battle perfectionism or to "live up to" the things others create because of the system of external validation and mass popularity. Recently I feel I'm more comfortable with creative outlets that nobody can see except for me. If people can read/view it, it scares me beyond belief and I freeze. Thanks for reading my rambles here and I appreciate this new video! I've been thinking about getting my first Midori soon.
Sorry this is another tangent, but I am 28 and I find it weird how people from the past can see my presence online. It didn't feel weird as a kid, but now it feels absurd and abnormal. The idea that all my past friends, extended family, etc. can see what I'm posting online is so so weird and scary
I don’t comment very often. I do enjoy your content. I wanted to let you know that I really enjoy these type of videos, to keep me company (while doing chores and/or journaling) and also for inspiration/ideas for my own journaling. I’ve never been on Instagram, no clue what it’s like.
I'm not a content creator. I do enjoy YT. I like the longer videos over the short clips. With YT there's time to take it in. Short clips leave me hanging sometimes. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to it.
Yes, love this 🙌🏼 I’m a RUclips fan, recently stopped going on instagram so much as it just started to feel real yucky & fake, I’ll hop on for a few min then hop back off just can’t be doing with it anymore but LOVE the RUclips’s 💗
Your chatty videos are my favorite ❤ I have followed your channel for long time. Today you brought back the spark, hope and encouragement to just “Be” yourself with your journal! I lost my husband over a year ago and time has stopped for my writing, journaling and creative work. I started watching my favorite YT’s again (your channel). ❤😂 I have piles and boxes of supplies to use and I plan to just dig in and find my way back to this simple joy of creating my own journal❤ thanks and sending love your way 🎉
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message.🥹💗💗 I'm deeply sorry for your loss, and I’m honored that my videos could bring back a bit of spark and hope for you. It means a lot to know that my channel has been a source of encouragement during such a difficult time. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling inspired to dive back into your journaling and creative work. Take it one step at a time, and let the simple joy of creating guide you. Sending you lots of love and support. Thank you for being a part of this community. ❤📓✨
I love your long videos, sooo relaxing to watch as I drink my coffee with cream and sugar and journal in my moleskine. Also using my new sticker book and my stash of supplies which I've been hoarding 😅. Don't stop your videos, looove them all! 💛🙌
In some cases, I enjoy the long form. It allows me to experience another creative’s process and hear a discussion of others that I’m aligned with. Also, thank you for emphasizing the beauty of imperfections. It’s really helped me with my journaling.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I'm so glad you find value in the long-form content and that it resonates with you.❤️ Emphasizing the beauty of imperfections is something I truly believe in, and I’m happy it’s had a positive impact on your journaling. Keep enjoying the process and embracing every moment of your creative journey! 😊
I really felt that “who *am* I? Well… come fall I’ll probably be back in my black phase…” 😂 I dearly miss the blogosphere days, but RUclips is still my favorite platform. I prefer long form content and I prefer searching for what I want rather than depending on an algorithm to “over feed” me. YT def has its issues, but once it’s curated well, it’s wonderful. The caveat being I tend to rely on short form for DIYs and tutorials - when you need to know something it’s great to just get to the point. You’re absolutely right about the “finding your people” feeling that is the net good of the internet, haha. I found you through your WIMB video with your Nutmeg PLG tote and I remember when you mentioned your notebooks and journals I went “ *ghasp!* she’s a planner girlie too!” and it was an instant sub. Now I look forward to each new video, and casual chatty ones like this are my favorite type of journaling video. I guess cause it represents the vibes of journaling best: slow, honest and (kind of) intentional with a dash of the magic of creating, pulling together a bunch of “nothings” to make “something”.
Aww, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I completely agree that there’s something special about the long-form content on RUclips and the ability to search for exactly what you want. It’s great to hear you found my channel through the WIMB PLG tote! Now welcome to the journaling madness. Hahaha! I love the way you described journaling-slow, honest, and intentional with a dash of magic. That’s exactly the vibe I aim to capture. It’s wonderful to have found my people here. Thanks again for the kind words and support. Looking forward to sharing more with you! 😊📓✨
yes same I didn't get the first book but I got 2 of the year one. sad note in one of the books the page for May was miss match with they cut it. and couldn't use them.
I really love the longer videos with talking and journaling, because they always inspire me to journal myself. And the way you narrate what you do and what you think about it is really inspiring and uplifting.
I love how you show your journal isn't perfect!! I really enjoy seeing realistic journals that have mistakes and scribbled out stuff and not perfect handwriting rather than the picture perfect journals you usually see
your content has helped me let go of perfectionism and just... ENJOY journaling. thank you so much! one of my favourite journals was inspired by you so im so grateful. now im binging all your videos! your voice is so soothing and i love all the ideas you have.
Yes. Love this video. I have been out of the journaling scene for years and just coming back now after getting into the hobonichi trend. Fun fact, i have always been a Moleskine fan. When I found your videos, I was so happy someone else loves them. However, for 2025 I'll be using the Sterling Ink undated planner for all my planning and journaling. The hobonichi cousin for musings and such things, and I'll add to my collection as I go. Love your videos. You are the most genuine person here in the journaling community. Everyone else is following a trend.
I have the sticker book from Wal-Mart and I love it, I even got another one of the sticker books by Pen & Gear. I love watching you set up your new journal and having a chat. Have a great day!
I really enjoy the longer RUclips videos. I often listen to your videos while I am working. You inspired me to get a Moleskine notebook. I'm having a great time putting everything in it, stickers, watercolors, etc.
I love your long chatty videos! It's fun when you're sharing pages of your notebooks or when you're creating while filming. Great company when I'm creating too or of I'm eating lunch. Like you said these videos are very relaxing. Great company
I love your long videos, these are so calming and fun to watch with my own journal and a cup of coffee 💜 With these videos you give so much inspiration!
I love long form content. I feel like 30 mins is my favorite youtube video duration. With a lot of the planner youtube content, it feels like im hanging out with friends. Very relaxing.
100% I love these videos! It’s the perfect time for me to journal alongside you. It’s so relaxing and I feel like I’m journaling with a friend. Please do these longer videos, I’m sure I’m not the only one to enjoy them 😃
Hi, random viewer here! I love what you said about social media and the discouragement a creator can face. I make content myself. I started on instagram a while ago and really enjoyed it. I then went on TikTok. I immediately noticed the difference in viewership and I think that was what was discouraging me. I ended up just transferring over to TikTok because I found a better sense of community over there. Anyways, I really like what you said about that. I even wrote down what you said in my common place notebook!
I have Instagram but I rarely post. My goal wasn’t really to get a lot of attention or followers but just to share what I want when I want without any expectations. I love it like that because there is no pressure. If I manage to connect with someone cool if not cool too. I haven’t share any journaling or any type of craft. I share more stationery purchases or deals I get from the thrift stores. I still haven’t share my creative stuff yet. I’m working on getting more comfortable with what I see as art or being crafty. I can definitely relate with the sticker thing. I do have tons of stickers. I love to collect them but I also love to journal with my scraps first. You have been such an inspiration to me lately. Especially decorating my journal covers. I love watching you and little by little watching your videos when I have some time.
I enjoyed your authentic real time journalling and chat. In this rushed world it is nice to stop and watch long form, genuine content rather than rushed made pretty faked for video content.
Omg you inspired me not to be perfect when journaling.. Collector 😊and your way of expressing & saving little moments with getting artistic is so beautiful. I'm glad I ran into your video.♥️🙏Thanks for being transparent.
Awww, thank you so much!❤️ It makes me happy hearing that my approach inspires you. Embracing imperfections and cherishing those little moments is what it’s all about. I’m so glad you found my video and that it resonated with you. Thank you for your kind words and support! ♥️🙏😊
I recently found your videos and have been incredibly inspired! You have kickstarted my journaling interest and I absolutely love your long term content here on RUclips. Hope you continue these fun sit down sessions where I feel like I am just journaling with a friend 😊
Thank you for the long video format !!! I am not a fan of short content format or TikTok format/Instagram reels format. Edit: as for the posting part: I ended up not caring about the likes count. I create for myself first. If people like it, it is a plus. I realized that once I stopped caring abou the algorithm, count like and engagement, my creativity got boosted: the less time I allocated to worry about social media, the more time I got to be creative, enjoy, and discover new thing in my art journey. :D
I love longer videos like this!! I recently deleted instagram for a bit and got more into youtube and it does feel like a better use of my time overall. Also I have the walmart sticker book as well, and let me tell you it lasts FOREVER. I got it about a year ago and still probably have half of it left, using it all the time in my collagey journal pages.
Those Walmart sticker books have been my secret sauce for YEARS. I’m on IG and my posts average 7 likes, but those seven people are enough for me to keep sharing!
I love the longer videos. I like to listen to it while I work or do my chores. Omg that’s me! I like to keep the sticker on my pen incase I need to repurchase 😅
I Definitely prefer longer form content. When I watch YT it’s bc I’m wanting a long video of something Im really interested in and to watch/listen to it while I’m getting things done as well. Honestly, on RUclips with any creator, I’ll pass by a video if it’s not long enough where I can have it on in the background bc I don’t want to keep starting and stopping my task to switch videos. So I definitely love these kinds of videos! Absolutely love your channel. Don’t change a thing!
RUclips is my favorite platform too. I am not a fan of reels and I don't use tiktok, but I do enjoy instagram for the still images/stories. I think a lot of what you said resonated with me. Although, I do think another aspect to disappointment from lack of engagement is the time it takes to create content... not the project itself, which I would do anyways, but to photograph it/edit it/film/edit a video/create an icon, etc. All of that stuff takes a lot of time/effort and it's time I could otherwise spend crafting! I don't mind doing it if I see people getting value from my content and interacting with me, but if not, then it feels like that was wasted time/effort. I don't share all of the projects I create online, only the ones that I feel resonate with enough people to justify the time it takes to prep them as content. I hope that makes sense! Enjoyed your journal + I definitely keep and cut out a lot of those freebie things too (I'm also a huge fan of magazines for that reason).
I do get sucker in by TikTok but I love watching RUclips videos while I am in bed relaxing or cleaning when I need background noise. But love love to watch journal and planner videos.
I ALWAYS enjoy your vlogs! Please keep them coming! 😊. I'm inspired by you, and you have such great ideas! Thanks for sharing these. I look forward to them. Have a wonderful evening 😄! 🙋🏽😍🥰🤗🫶🏽😘💖💙💙💙
Thank you for sharing your process and thoughts. I've been in a big rut lately. I want to start a messy art journal just to get out something. I will share it on my RUclips channel. RUclips is my favorite platform.
Awwww your stork scissors..my nana had a pair and seeing them in your video made me miss her so much…she used to tease me about my “collecting junk” for my journal and art but she always loved what I created and she was still my biggest cheerleader…I love your posts and videos 😍
YOU SAID ALL THE RIGHT THINGS!! ❤ for me instagram has become so fake/curated everything feels performed. I post a regular picture of my happy life no filter or edits and no one engages. I don’t even know if friends and family see it
I love a chatty plan with me, I love RUclips because I still love longform content, I put a JashiiCorrin compilation video on for background noise like everyday 😂 I definitely wouldn’t mind longer videos with you because you’re one of my favorite RUclipsrs ❤
I am enjoying this video as I craft. You have a soothing voice and I find myself saying, “Yes, me too” 😂I’ve never bought a sticker book from Walmart. I guess to find them😂I have never cut up the mailers! What a great idea⭐️I’m in California and we get them weekly⭐️
I prefer watching longer videos. But I don't like gen to be more than 30 minutes usually. I actually left IG for almost a year and recently returned to it. I try to post a few times per week. But if I don't feel like posting, I won't. I'm pressuring myself to keep up in order to compete. It's just not worth the stress. 21:32 A note about fake planners and journals, I don't have those. If I need to hide something that I journaled about, I will cover that part of the page with a sticky note. Or I won't share that specific page at all. I don't have time to have planners just for that, lol. I make my spreads like how I want them to be for me personally and then share it online because I enjoy sharing my hobby.
I really enjoy your channel and I mostly like You Tube instead of Instagram. Yes, and I did buy the Walmart stickers you are using and I really love them. ❤
I quit Instagram because it just feels like one big competition. RUclips is just where it’s at for me. I like longer videos too. I wish a lot of planner girls on Instagram would put their stuff on RUclips. Like even if it’s just as shorts. I don’t do a lot of shorts but if something interests me enough I will. I’ve done journaling like that, mainly junk journaling. I love junk journaling prompts too like make a double page spread of flowers doesn’t matter where they came from. You should make some!!!!
Michelle, we swim in junk mail here in Virginia. Even with using a ton of it in journals we still end up recycling a lot of it. I also get a lot of free magazines for collage in the mail so I'm sure they are selling my address. As for social media, I enjoy RUclips and I've curated my IG to where I learn something new everytime I go on the app. But I absolutely don't go on everyday I prefer blogs, substack or long form video. The fast pace of reels and tik toks burn me out. My friends say I should make a journal channel but I just see it as work 😂
I have to point out that your sticker 'imperfection' on the cover of your old journal reminds me of Eddie Van Halen's "Frankenstrat" guitar. It's beautiful!!!!! ❤
I prefer long form content and RUclips. I like chatty talking to-me-videos. I don’t like voice overs. Thanks for your genuine videos. I appreciate all the thought and work you put into it.
I purchased the Walmart sticker book online! I also purchased another sticker book “12 Months of Stickers A Year of Planning for every occasion”- 1,400 stickers. Great price for both of them. I didn’t find them at the store so I purchased online. 😊
I prefer longer videos. I don’t really like short videos and I do Not use Tik Tok. I love all your videos. I like seeing all types because it gives me ideas/inspo in multiple areas. I found the Inkpressions notebook in my local B&N thanks to you! 😀 I tried a Moleskine nb also thanks to you. ❤️it all!
I love the real time, long form content. I put a vid on and journal along with it and I have a feeling a lot of people do that too. Reels and shorts go too fast and focus on the end product rather than the journey.
I prefer longer videos because I'm usually doing something else at the same time. I like reels for memes only, personally. :D These videos are very satisfying!
I enjoy feedback on my creations (collages, Zentangle, and junk journals) and I share only on Facebook in those groups that support my “art.” I use RUclips and Pinterest for inspiration. I am not on other social media platforms. I enjoy creatures you share their actual creations and not for show.
I agree with many of your sentiments about social media and really appreciate that you share your content for YOU. I much prefer RUclips, the longer the content, the better imo! :D I don't enjoy short form content. I love sitting down with a long video (I adore your videos btw!!!) and doing my own decorating or journalling. It's like hanging out with "my kind of people" that I don't have in real life and I appreciate that!
✨I reactived the PATREON Journal Club! Would love to have you! -

I love RUclips. It's more interesting than a 30 second video and it's more inspiring. Instagram reels put me in a comparison frame of mind and doesn't inspire me at all. I miss when Insta was just all photos and no influencers. Now it just feels like an app I use to look at ads for an hour.
If you go to the tab 'following' you see far less apps, if any :)

I agree. Those reels seem frantic and fragmented and like the real humanity is not there.
Agree!
Big fan of chatty & crafty videos. Whilst I was listening and watching you, I was shlepping stuff on my journal.
me too!😀
I LOVE these longer chill videos. They are perfect for putting on in the background while I do my own art journaling. Please keep them up, your style is so calming ❤❤

Wow I loved the painter analogy 👏🏼 that was really good and changed my perspective! Thank you
I bought the Walmart sticker book, and when I found it, I also found a cute 12 months of stickers "A Year of Planning" book!
yes same I didn't get the first book but I got 2 of the year one. sad note in one of the books the page for May was miss match with they cut it. and couldn't use them.
Love love love to replay these videos while i journal!! Your long form videos are a blessing for me 😂😂
Awww, happy to hear that! I guess the long form videos stay then! 🤭🤭❤❤
Enjoy your you tube videos, content, inspiration and relaxed vibe. 😎
thank you 🥹❤❤
I really love the longer videos with talking and journaling, because they always inspire me to journal myself. And the way you narrate what you do and what you think about it is really inspiring and uplifting.
I love this set up! I watch these while I'm working or planning myself. Thank you for making such a relaxing video!
I love how you show your journal isn't perfect!! I really enjoy seeing realistic journals that have mistakes and scribbled out stuff and not perfect handwriting rather than the picture perfect journals you usually see
I love watching/listening to this kind of video while I play in my own journals!
That makes me happy! 🥰❤️
your content has helped me let go of perfectionism and just...
I love your message in this video. It has been difficult to hear so many people complaining. I live hiw you make your art and simply share it. ❤❤
👋🏽Great video! Our journal “imperfections” add character. Creating journal spreads for yourself will always be rewarding. 💚
I love this format. I love how you share about your steps and also how you put things together. Thank you!
The longer videos are great to journal along or to have it playing in the background.
Those Walmart sticker books have been my secret sauce for YEARS.
I’m on IG and my posts average 7 likes, but those seven people are enough for me to keep sharing!
I like long videos with creative ideas! I think it’s vital to talk about creative processes and ideas!
Your long form videos are calming and I love to watch them.
@@mnumcl2 I’m so happy you enjoy them. Thank you 🩷
Love love love this “craft with me” style of videos! Please do more!
Have a blessed day🥰
Thank you! Will do!
While cleaning I found a bunch of take out fortunes, now I have a place to put them, thank you for the idea! Happy journaling
I love the "Fragile" sticker on the back of my bujo! Thank you for the ideas.
I loved this video! And I love longer videos. I often have to sit and nurse my baby so I’m always looking for videos to watch! Thanks for showing!
I love watching you get so much enjoyment out of creating
What a gorgeous wholesome video. It felt so good to watch it and feel even more inspired to keep playing with my notebook.😍😍😍
Glad you liked it!! Thank you 🥰❤️
Awwww your stork scissors..my nana had a pair and seeing them in your video made me miss her so much…she used to tease me about my “collecting junk” for my journal and art but she always loved what I created and she was still my biggest cheerleader…I love your posts and videos 😍
🥹❤❤🥰
Your voice is so soothing. I feel like I’m going to fall asleep when I watch your videos.❤️😂😊
YOU SAID ALL THE RIGHT THINGS!! ❤ for me instagram has become so fake/curated everything feels performed. I post a regular picture of my happy life no filter or edits and no one engages. I don’t even know if friends and family see it
Definitely enjoy this type of video! It's relaxing!
I love videos like this. It allows me to journal with you.
I love a chatty plan with me, I love RUclips because I still love longform content, I put a JashiiCorrin compilation video on for background noise like everyday 😂 I definitely wouldn’t mind longer videos with you because you’re one of my favorite RUclipsrs ❤
Love RUclips! Thanks for continuing to share your content!
I love long form content, because I like to work on mine while watching.
that's good to know! ❤️We're in this together!
Midori paper is sooo yummy to work with. love using my fountain pens in it.
I got rid of IG a couple of years ago, around the time Reels started. I vote for RUclips!
Yay a new video!!💜💜
I prefer long-form videos and this was a fun video to watch, thank you.
My friends say I should make a journal channel but I just see it as work 😂
I loved this video so much! Thank you. You’ve inspired me. Thank you so much!! ❤
Feeling depressed and I think this one will help my sanity back again.
That is awesome! Hope you enjoy!
Love these videos! Have missed them!💗
For me it's really relaxing 😊
Definitely like you. Afraid to use expensive stuff. Enjoy your long video, crafting!
