- All Along the Watchtower serves as the Cylon leitmotif in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. This mix includes several thematically related tracks, mainly from season 3.
The original song was written by Bob Dylan. The version used in Battlestar Galactica was arranged by Bear McCreary who also wrote most of the BSG soundtrack along with Richard Gibbs.
Lyrics:
There must be some way out of here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Businessmen they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line
Know what any of it is worth
No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
The hour's getting late
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside in the distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
The wind began to howl Видеоклипы
"All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again."

It's in the ship... IT'S IN THE FRACKIN' SHIP!
Sabotage by music…. I’ll look into it
Best quote ever haha !
Saul Tigh had the best lines. That's one of my favorites.
Col. Tigh's most famous line, and its a good dam line !
its IN THE FRACKING SHIEP !!!!!
Lately I am hearing this tune in my head...
SerbianSabre1 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
its in the frakking ship!
Dad used to play this when I was a kid
Dcking toaster.
After binge watching the entire series, I march to it. Can't shake it.
I love the Hendrix original, but this is mindblowing.. when I watched the episode that featured this track,at first it came across as something extraordinary, almost exotic, then I began to pick out one or two familiar notes..but I couldn't place it. Then,as Tigh, Tyrol, and Sam,were wandering through the ship, starting to quote the lyrics, the penny dropped and I was totally blown away by the genius of it all. A brilliant example of how music can enhance a good storyline and lift it higher...
Hendrix wasn't the original performer actually. The song was originally done by Bob Dylan.
@@s-094cam5 Bob Dylan didn't originate this either, he plucked it from the collective unconscious. How else would we resonate with it so perfectly :)
Pardon my ignorance...I never knew,I never listened to Bob Dylan, but I shall do so to educate myself 🙂👍
@@omnirhythm heck I even did a version of it 😎
the BSG version is BEST version of the really great JH rift

As awesome as this rendition is, in the context of the series, it is breathtaking!
Truly, music is beyond a gateway to the soul. Because this song takes me to a place no drug can

I kind of think of BSG as the story of Noah....
But moses and jesus work also
Duh
Yes, it is a version of " the last supper". Ginny an AI Artist. [Masterplayer PRO

i just skipped through season 3 but couldn't find the main 2(3?) tracks which I thought were from season 4. does anyone know the track name for when Starbuck is actually playing the piano and the mean score kicks in half way through?

@@LinkXToboeXAmaterasu ah thank you, I was checking season 3 as that's what the description said and I missed this one when I skimmed season 4.
One of The Best Sci-fi Series out there. They're about to ruin its Legacy with an incoming Reboot. 😢
Sauce me.
As much as I'd love to agree with you, the themes serve to retell the same old story, which is the heart of BSG. We will have a hundred adaptations/reboots, then we'll live it as a civilization, then we'll repeat the cycle. The legacy isn't ruined. It's merely continued.

I just notice that the hall in the background resembles the front of the galactica
Looks like the inside of one of the landing decks. Those two long retractable pods flanking both sides of the Galactica
як же я довго шукав цей звук
я було б лише переглянути фінал 3го сезону bsg? ;-)
Your whole life. You've listened for it before, and you'll hear it again.
Hendrix does the DaVinci code, six Cylons -six humans. No god.
I wish someone would do a fan opening title using some of this theme, I always hated BSG not having a propper opening sequence. The action scenes just didn't fit with the mellow music for me and felt very Incompleat at the end.
It would have been good not knowing for 4 seasons how important the theme would become, like the chant for Farscape eventually becoming the chant the Idolons sing in season 4.
Blame Sci-fi for the opening since they wanted to squeeze as many commercials into the show's runtime
@@kwizzeh oh I do, I remember when they shortened SG1 and Atlantis to 8 seconds, the uproar worked but as soon as SGU came out that was back down to just a title flash. BSG did get a fairly long opening though, it just didn't feel like an original opening, was it added later?
@@karl810 You aren't forgetting or mis-remembering. I did have a long opening but was shortened after. I know up here in Canada when it aired on Space (tl;dr our version of Sci-Fi/SyFy network) we used it during the shows entire run due to the short run time even when including the ad breaks and running the full credits.
@@kwizzeh Ah I see, yeah I stream alot being in the UK so im familiar with Space, Canadians always get the good stuff uploaded quickly 😂 but even the full length opening, the music just doesn't seem to fit at all, like when they added some random track to the Charmed opening because they lost the rights to the original music it just didn't feel right, I think a remix of this would have been better.
Lets hope the new series gets a better more meaningful opening 🙏
The US and the UK each had their own unique title theme also
i know this is supposed to be da vincicis last supper but could someone tell me who each charator is along with which appostle they are representing? thanks
Ellen is Judas??? That doesn't make sense.
@@slewone4905 Ellen isn't even on the picture.
I think it’s more the symbolism, not only is it a Six in the Jesus position, but the messenger Six since that’s the only one that wears that dress. So maybe it’s to do with the angel that guides humanity while the cylon calls the Six out as a imposter. Idk, it could be cause it looks cool
There is this too.

@@slewone4905 Gaius Baltar is Judas in this photo because that is the physical Six. If Gaius Baltar were in the center then the Six in his mind would be Judas. The depiction is a symbolic representation of the human mind.
Captain NEMO
It seems the lyrics was sung by Tim Russ from Star Trek Voyager!
Six is Jesus! OMG, it all makes sense now. NOT! The photo is awesome though.
Nothing beats Jimi but I like this one 👌
This easily beats your Jimi.
I actually like the U2 version too
