In this episode myself and Lee visit a local grain store, where the Rats have been causing damage to the fabric of the building. The total head count was just over 20 so it wasn't as productive as previous outings. However it was most certainly enjoyable and essential.

Back in the early to mid '70s before everyone got real sensitive , and before landfills were locked up.
As teens we used to go to the landfill around dusk and shoot rats with .22s.
Climb up on the junked cars and plink away.
Even had the local police stop by once , pulled out his handgun and gave it a try.
Ahh...... the good old days, when people knew how to behave, I miss those times.

I got my first deer this fall here in BC, Canada with my compound bow at 36 yards.. I couldn't imagine living in a country where that isn't legal so I suppose you guys have to make due with what you have.. I love watching these to relax but my favourite prey is wild turkey and wild boar with my bow.. Archery hunting makes you feel so connected and ancient.. Maybe even 200K years old..

Nice shooting lads, yes ratting is a very worthwhile job that farmers really haven't the time to do save poisoning, and its fun, not in the funny sense just in case the vegetable eaters are reading this, but its good to put skills to task while you enjoy it at the same time. keep at em ! atb phil.

Good job on the 2nd pellet into the fallen rat. Just because they're almost universally hated, doesn't mean they should be left to suffer if you don't kill them outright with one shot. My only question to you is how much 'splatter' the grain gets when you hit a mouse with a .22 FAC driven pellet? I know first hand how messy a mouse corpse is when I hit it with a sub 12 ftlb pellet and yours must be traveling a lot faster. Good video, by the way. Hoping to take on a rat permission soon, too.

I have no sympathy for these walking diseased sacks of crap, so I could care less if they suffer.

I think this is far more humane than poison.

I like this method but my favorite is the glue trap videos on here, they are comedic
Remember the old game that we played called Twister? Where tje teens got down on the play board and put their hands and feet on the colored spots? That's what the glue traps remind me of. Mice playing Twister.

They are fucking rats. They spread disease. The important thing is that they are deleted, whether humanely or in humanely.
I agree, either this or kill traps all the way. Poison can be slow lingering death and then you have the concern of other animals eating and consequently getting poisoned by the dead pests

Oh please don't bleep - that was the biggest rat I've seen on these rat shooting videos, and I'm unemployed and watch ALL DAY! That was one satisfying shot to see.
The solution is to patch the holes in the wall with gypsum mixed with glass from broken light bulbs. There is no rat to dig through that.
I've heard of rats gnawing thru cinder-block walls, copper water pipe, and even solid aluminum so unless the patch is harder than the rats teeth, the rats will eventually get thru unless they can be made to avoid gnawing in the first place.
That's why I prefer concrete ready-mix mixed with steel wool and fiberglass. Gnawing on the steel wool and fiberglass hurts them so they avoid it. And it turns out to be cheaper than a steel plate, which is the cheapest commonly available material they can't gnaw thru.

freeze them to sell to snake owners for food. minks eat them ground up also. put a notice up at pet stores.
Snake owners dont want rats to feed their snakes thats been eating garbage and nasty things. Just saying.

get yourself a digital day/night ATN 3-14x scope. They are dead accurate and half your $1500 price! I got mine for $650 and love it. I added another night light and there is no doubt where your targets are!
