Reason 1 = market is strong so you sold, reason 2 = you needed money, reason 3= its a great bike 👍 4= I give up you've wasted my time

Ha funny, actually 1. It was hard to sell so I took a beating, 2. I didn't really need the money 3. It's not as good a bike as I thought it would be. It is a good bike just not what I expected. 4. Look you just read this and I've "wasted" more if your time..lol see you on the trail, I have many other bikes to ride.

Agree. I guess he just wanted to let us know he’s buying a tpi bike. Im about to buy a 200rr and was looking for the good and bad on the bike. Didn’t learn anything from this video

It really depends on your riding. Open single track it was great. Slow short run up climbs it wasn't so good, more like a 125. I ride a lot of short run up climbs so it wasn't the best for me.

@@TepcoCycleRepair thank you for the reply. I live near the border of WV and PA and it’s not flat at all so that’s good to know. I’d like the power of the 300 but the weight of the bike is my biggest concern at 5’7 and 140 lbs

@@Mike-hi3sc The Beta feels extremely lite and is an awesome bike. I'm 5'11" probably around 195 with full gear so it might do better for you at your weight. Try to find a demo day or a friend with one you can ride for the day.

I bought my brand new 2022 200RR after 50 years of riding vintage and PV 250ies and 360ies and of course the mighty Wr 430 Husky. I am now 64 years old 2 bad shoulders, bad knee, Broken wrist and cracked pelvis over the years. So I wanted the effin button and finally after i retired i could afford it . The seat is horrible so i ordered one from seat concepts and i even at 6 ft 2 inches tall have trouble swinging my leg to get on it but i will figure it out or start yoga classes . Power wise its par with vintage 250ies i own and frankly ive never even ridden a modern bike so steep learning curve approaching fast .We are at sea level here in Sunny Florida and yes its smoking a bit but will wait until rings bed in before any rejetting but overall no regrets i just got to be careful and probably no more racing for me . I like mine.

Does it still have the oil injection on it?

I'm still scratching my head after watching this video. The 200 RR is a great bike! The TPI bikes from KTM/HQV are really good but flat and need something like the Two Stroke Performance kit to wake them up to run with a carbureted bike. The new TBI bikes are better but still not quite as good IMO as a finely tuned carbureted bike. The upside is you don't have to mix fuel & oil on the XC-Ws, I do understand the desire to upgrade the shop and hope that that has all gone according to plan.

Funny thing is I went the gas tpi 250 and I want to do the opposite to a 200 Carby. Tried tpis twice now 250s and they just never feel quite right in my opinion

Interesting, because I'm looking to go the other way except in a 300. I heard the 300TPI feels like a 250. So maybe the TPI in the 250 mutes the power to much?

I'm currently riding an 06 KTM 250 XC. The engine is the best part. Was looking to get something a little lighter with e-start for the gnarly stuff. I'm thinking that at my age (63) the XTrainer or Rieju Ranger would fit me the best. I have no interest in TPI on my off road bikes. I rode a 2020 TM 300 carbureted model and the jetting and power curve was so good!

    • @TepcoCycleRepair

I agree that 250 engine is great, loved my 09 250xc. A lot of people really like the Xtrainer, I haven't ridden one yet. I'm looking forward to getting a TPI bike, I wouldn't be worried if you find one, it makes the 300 extremely smooth. So if I were you I would just make sure you get a counter balanced 250 or 300 with estart, I really don't think you can go wrong with anything that fits that bill. The second most concern would be do you have accessibility to parts for the brand you buy in your area?

I'm 61 and still XC race my 200 RR. Love it so smooth and fun. Took a bit to get the forks dialed in. I like having a smooth bike that won't spit me off the first whiskey throttle i hit
