Yeah, it's kinda odd. At first, I found this song silly/terrible, and I was listening it only to mocking it, but now it kinda grew on me, then I listened the japanese version and it's even better.
Eventough is just a fighting games, It's not easy to develop a new sequel. They have to bring a new mechanic to make it different than VF5. All they did in this revo just an updated graphic, somew new character or costume maybe. It will be much easier and faster rather than developing a new sequel. Or maybe this is just a kickstart before VF6, they just want to hear a feedback from fans and of course they needed a fast money 😂
At first I was disappointed it wasn't a 6, but I have to appreciate the hustle. PSN exclusivity on 5US/es got Sony to foot the bill for the funding, which was a masterstroke.
On one hand, we finally have Rollback Netcode. On the other hand, VF5 IS ALMOST 20 YEARS OLD. I love VF5, don't get me wrong. I LOVE it, I love this entire series. However, we have to move on at some point. We practically missed BOTH fighting game renaissances.
I love Virtua Fighter. It and Soul Calibur are the best 3D fighters imo. But I can't buy VF5 again. We need a new entry. I want to support this to get a future release, I really do, but it'll probably just be another VF5 in 8k/120 fps 10 years from now.
They've talked about VF6 on multiple occasions and reputable leakers have confirmed it is in the works. This just feels like an extra release to help spread VF to more platforms and also test out networking things like rollback out. This is only a positive for the fans. Every franchise has to end eventually and so even if VF6 wasn't already in the works (and it is) it is totally fine to just port existing titles to more platforms.
VF5 final showdown 2 years ago on PS and then now a new update and a Steam version show there is a market for VF. It's slow, but it goes the way to VF6.
By the way, R had the best music in the series in my opinion, by a wide margin. In Final Showdown you could choose a soundtrack from different parts and I only had R!))
From porting the arcade version in a lot of Dragon Engine Yakuza games to actually making a new version of 5 AND the ones in charge for 6. Good job, RGG Studios.
can't wait! As a massive fighting game enthusiast, VF is the last remaining legendary fighting series I haven't learned to play properly as I only have PC and it's never been widely available for modern online play. Been waiting for this since VF5 Final was a thing.

I'm absolutely a huge fan of Virtual Fighter ever since playing the Virtual Fighter 5 game back in my high school and college years, I love the game and storyline and characters, so I'm super excited to see the game coming back with a new game!!! The PS4 version is getting the balance update so there's nothing that would stop it, necessarily. The PS4 version would have to be retrofitted with some kind of cross-platform account system to make it work, though.
I am more excited to watch pros play this game again than I am to play it myself. VF is something else to behold at the pro level. The game just flows differently than any other fighters.

What I like about it is that Sega has kept the fighting real by using real martial arts in the game. No fake fighting like we see in fighting games these days. Thumbs up to Sega 👍🏽
I hope eventually companies stop using remakes/remasters to gauge interest and just take a risk sometimes. I’m going to play this but we really want 6 most of us have bought virtua fighter five several times already and that should say plenty enough
Sure, easy to pitch the spending of millions of dollars and thousands of labour hours when it's not YOUR money on the line. Will you rescue the company from bankruptcy if the title fails to sell well?
This way they have an out for letting a franchise rot when nobody buys the same game for the 4th time, and they just say it's because no one is interested anymore. Making you buy an old entry with the carrot of a new entry and stick of keeping the franchise dead is a trick employed by a lot of these Japanese companies like Sega and Capcom, even though it never materializes even when the remaster/collection does sell well.
