Even after all this time playing, Im still learning basic interactions 😂. A great game even with a very messy finalé. A pleasure to be back on the channel
You Could still mill with the One ring protection, With Infinite mana you could exile your deck until you find Borne upon a wind + Winds of rebuke, Then play borne upon a wind, Winds of rebuke (hold priority) and copy it with reiterate, bouncing a rock. Then you still have your winds of rebuke on the stack, play a rock and bounce it again with reiterate, milling everyone.
Just curious, Zack, what would you think of more comander protection cards like slip out the back or reality ripple? Both are 1 mana to either phase vadrik out or remove an opponents threat for a turn. I like it against already present threats I can't counter anymore or against things that bring out threats without casting. Slip out the back has that added value of a +1 going on vadrik
@@dereklebeau I can see a place for them for sure, but I much prefer more versatile cards. Any 1U spell will still only cost me a U so I'd rather look at some 2 and 3 mana spells or counterspells that offer a wider variety of uses. If I found people were killing vadrik too much I'd consider adding slip again
@ShalomZakie makes sense. I gravitate towards them in my group because they don't like counterspells. I could totally see counters being outright better most the time. One last thing. What about bond of insight? Not as a substitute for mystical retrival, but in addition it's really nice. Getting back 2 instants or sorcereries without having to do flashbacks and loosing them is nice.
Great game.. slight mishap at the beginning with rhetoric playing a turn two tymna off a chrome mox that had a chain of vapor but if he just sequences his land drops differently he still could have done it
Haha thats awesome to hear. Im desperately trying to force bribery in the deck but struggling a lot what to cut. UU to fetch grand abolisher, ranger captain, dockside, hullbreaker its got soooo much potential for the deck...
@@ShalomZakieGreat game Zak, love seeing you on here. I having been loving bribery, not everyone agrees with me but I think it definitely merits a spot!
Why did you discard the command tower instead of the fetch land turn one ? I think keeping the best mana fixing land in the formant is better then fetching especially that you had no lands in hand and trying to thin your library was risky
Im having a rought time building vadrik for a more casual game setting. Optimized vadrik wins on loke turn 3 or 4. Cut out storm kiln and the burn cards and you still win on turn 6. Cut the treasure cards/jeskas will/seething song/frantic search and the deck crumbles. Its hard to make it mid tier...
Try budget building, more clunky spells or with more control elements. I originally built it for a budget competition then just tuned it to hell over time
Honestly I think the consistency to get t1 or t2 vadrik is really relevant, the immediate value it gives you along with how easy it is to increase that value, and vadrik allows you to run a slightly lower mana curve because you dont have to cast big spells to increase value. Plus its a slight stax effect when people are concerned about flipping day night. Its surprising how often people avoid casting spells or feel the need to cast spells just to stop the day night cycle even if its not in their best interests
@ShalomZakie interesting. I'm trying to branch out in my cedh playing by using a color combo I don't normally use and izzet is definitely something I don't do enough of. And I love mizzix so was considering a build of her based on your vadrik list here
@@chriswilliams2559 a friend of mine runs Mizzix and I definitely really enjoyed that commander a long time ago. Its definitely a viable deck and cutting power pumps etc from my deck definitely frees up some slots for some powerful cards. Mizzix is far more resilient than vadrik because you dont lose all the value when it dies. You recast and start where you left off

@Tom_Montana Tryna peice together a win 3 times because we forgot protection then messed up how protection worked was not a vibe 😅😅

@@itsmelessa505 I like that kinda 5 headed play. 👏👏
This is one of my favorite cEDH channels. You guys always break things down in a digestible format but don’t dumb it down too much.
Also I hope you loved editing and cleaning up this gameplay Mons 😂😂

Still a pleasure to see this Vadrick deck!! GG
That was a great showing! Playing Vadrik Storm is some real wizardry.
Truly my favourite CEDH deck for a long time now... maybe Ill have to start brewing something new soon though 😉
That was mastery. Well done!
I love VADRIK, i made the deck like 2 months ago and got super happy a few days ago when you updated the list!! I still camd find clout of dominus 😂

Seems wrong to name 1 with talion against 4 commanders that trigger on 2
Zack is suck a great Vadrik pilot, really enjoy seeing his deck go off - nice game!

Has Zack tried Command Performance in Vadrik? It's basically 1 mana to permanently give vadrik base power 4 or 5
The attractions and stickers card?
Could you explain this? I'm not seeing how to do anything with that card.
what a game
the background music is too loud!
agreed

That was alot of solitaire to end the game! Seemed like too much work. Gg tho! ❤❤❤
Yeahhhh. It was fine, right up until I remembered Mons protection...

Why vadrik over mizzix?
