I am a Blue green owner. The last time we came to Myrtle Beach, we were stuck in the dumpiest room we could be put in. The facility was so run down. After they get your money it seems like they don't care as much about you. 😕
I manage a franchise hotel and some of those issues are simply management related, some are probably just the owner not wanting to spend money and not the managers fault. No excuses really. Myrtle Beach hotels are busy year-round and you will have scratches, dings and things of that nature. However, the lack of upkeep is disturbing and as you pointed out...very outdated. The time-share "deals" and such always run longer and they use hard-sell techniques to try and force you into buying into their "great" deal lol. Great review and I enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work, I always love to hear how guests and others look at hotels and how they shape their opinions as keeping our guests happy is the main part of our jobs!!! Hello all we just left this exact hotel last month and it was horrible..we was supposed to do the time share the 20th we got there on the 19th we left the next morning and book V.I.P....was horrible we was supposed to do the time share thru them......please be advised nothing has changed since this video was posted...nothing!!!!!!....was of a 4hr drive....never again.
Worked there a decade ago...June 2010-september 2010...as a timeshare sales rep. The older building was once a Holiday inn that was never remodeled, & @ the time the CEO was going through multiple lawsuits.
We own in Gatlinburg and agree it is very well kept. I was looking for reviews on Myrtle Beach & now am considering not going! It’s sad that Westgates owner or management team doesn’t do a yearly visit to each property to see the state that they are in. I feel that it is Westgates responsibility to investigate “THEIR” properties and make sure they are up to par. It sounds like this manager needs to be terminated! Thanks for the great review.
My Husband just made reservations for us at WESTGATE RESORTS ai Myrtle Bea in SC, I hope the are okay & have the standard working refrigerator & Microwave in working condition) I heard about this resort the reviews weren't good ( bed bugs , the view is of the of the parking area, d a/c blows out a foul smell etc.) Why would you have people stay in a messed up room and then have them go to a room that they made reservations for ( we made reservations for a week if this is true we've been missed greatly ) and they ( westGate ), is trying to get you to buy a Timeshare, my question is why are you showing a messed up room? That's a bad example
The parking garage was done by the time we came in May. We stayed in the Tower in a one bedroom suite. Full kitchen....the sofa was a sleeper so we had company for one night. I have no complaints. I was having health issues so staying close by was a must. We cooked in to save money. The view was beautiful. Very humid through and hard to breathe but over it was a great vacation.
I am also a hotel housekeeper by trade and know all the dirty little secrets that take place in five star hotels in the united states! Keep your do not disturb signs on your hotel room door during your entire stay.I always keep mine on!
My husband worked at Westgate (in Maintenance) several years ago, and the scam they run on people for that timeshare thing was going on then, too. Lots and lots of ANGRY people. After the four-hour 90-minute tour (LOL) they harass you and bully you and insult you if you don't pay for a timeshare. The sales people are jerks. The little bit of the property shown in your video shows that it has gone down hill since my hubby worked there. :( There were some really good people working there back then, but the few good ones can't make up for terrible leadership.
We have not yet stayed at Westgate bit my friend stayed last month and she told me it was a old delapataded old motel and the 90 minute to 1hr Semanare was over 4 hrs and if this is true I will b e calling bank to tell them I was lied to and O would never sink my hard earned money into this place when I was told they even have cock roaches. Are you Allowed a refund for being lied to about the time you have to spend deciding wheaten you would ever want to throw your money away like this?
Time share discounts are discounts! They will not put you in new units, they only tour new units. That's why you have options on the amounts you want to spend. I'm going to be honest, looking for a discount will get you a discount room. No disrespect to you, we did the same thing. Everyone wants to save money for your family❤We figured that out years ago just like you did. Splurge on your vacation people!! Your Memories will last you a lifetime!!❤❤❤
I appreciate this video, but I'm really mad I didn't see it before I booked under the same type of promotion. This puts a new meaning of too good to be true. They should be ashamed of themselves for this!! I'm bringing my own everything, even cleaning supplies!!
I agree Tracy. We purchased with WG based off of a presentation at the Orlando location. I have stayed at Orlando and Tennessee locations both wete very nice Jacuzzi in master suite but when we visited the location in myrtle beach we had the same experience and ended our business with WG vased on that myrtle beach experience it reminds you of a motel versus a resort . Orlando and Tennessee were great and resort quality that has been probably 18 years ago my daughter was 4 when we went to Disney and stayed at the Orlando resort. TFS peace blessings much and continued success!!! Btw Hampton inn on Broadway offers a nice stay, we took an impromptu quick werkend trip sonce we live in Charlotte the beach for us is a quick trip booked with Hampton online and were pleasantly surprised.

I'm a Westgate owner at Gatlinburg and we exchanged to stay at Myrtle Beach back in 2017. Westgate said it was an upgrade so they tried to charge us $500 for the exchange. It was not an upgrade. I asked why they considered it an upgrade, one person said it was larger than our Gatlinburg unit, which it was not. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was one bed had a broken post and it caused the be to sit lopsided so you can't tell me that the cleaning staff didn't notice it. Then we noticed blood on the wall, carpet, and curtains! To finish it all off the air condition went out two days before we left. It was miserable but we did get our money back. By the way, the parking garage was in the same shape back in 2017 and looked like it had been that way for years, so who knows how long that unfinished mess has been there.

We've been there done that resort years ago🧐 wasn't the best stay back then won't go back. 🙄 One of annual trips we take is at Westgate Town Center Resort in Orlando for past 20 years! Were OG's to resort tour's, we'll take the freebies but Never purchased!🤣 However, nowadays no tours please for us!🧐 If your ever in Orlando try the Towncenter..they do very well to accommodate newbies..we do our family reunion there successfully! Also, it's a great place to get Disney or Universal free park passes of course with a tour 🤔🎢🎡.#UniversalPassholders👍🏼..Thanks for the Branson shoutout..that's on our bucket list! Staying in the old hotel while you are staying for a Timeshare presentation is awful. They are supposed to tear it down. It is TERRIBLE. But once you become an owner, the other building is absolutely beautiful.
Not a good look. My wife and I are West Gate owners and want to get rid of our Timeshare. Where do maintenance fees go? We pay $900 every other year. Our home property is in Orlando. Thanks for sharing this video!
We went to a Westgate resort near Disney- world in FL and for an extra few hundred they gave another week at any of their resorts as an owner. It turned out they didn’t have many properties we could reach by car and we booked a week in Myrtle Beach at the same location but we were in a renovated room in the tower. It was very nicely appointed and finishing must have been quite new. And we dodged the condo presentation because we had bought the week but at a very discounted rate. I can’t see why people would buy a timeshare or any condo unless the maintenance fees have some way of guaranteeing a limit on these costs. And over the decades my interests have shifted so a timeshare needs to have many opportunities to trade with many potential destinations. IMO the solution is for condo owners to offer a point system that a family buys and gets X weeks to use over a period of time. And when that time and / or the points are gone, it’s over..... they sell your weeks to someone else or you can buy more points to extend your affiliation. No annual fees, guaranteed access for the week you purchased and opportunity to trade ..... points do not change over time. There’s a reason people pay attorneys to terminate their ownership of condo weeks just to stop the maintenance fees. Ask General Trout .... Star Wars. Lol

They have some great resorts at other destinations- just at the time of our visit it was this way at Myrtle Beach location 🏖️ sadly. Enjoy your vacation 🙌🏽☀️
We used to own a motel down there. It was not one of these big nice fancy motels either, I'll be the first to admit that. I will have to say that we cleaned it up and kept it that way. We cleaned the pool area up and had it redone. The rooms smelled musty and smoky. We took the carpet up in all rooms and put down a flooring that looked like wood. Didn't want to put down real wood being people coming in from the pool and the ocean. It would have been messed up in no time. We painted all the rooms, bought new beds and bedding. Purchased new linen, being bed sheets, pillow cases, and wash clothes. The bedside tables looked OK, just the stain didn't look all that great, we had those painted. We purchased new flat screen TV's, and the rooms looked very nice after all this. We really watch who we rented too. People out there don't care, esp when their drinking and partying. There were no smells anymore. The only thing is some people still took towels and wash clothes home with them? We were always buying new linen. But if you try and keep it clean people keep coming back and you make a lot of friends that are some good people. And they keep returning. As long as its clean people don't really mind paying a little more. But as you said in your review, there are some rude people in Myrtle Beach. But were not all like that. Hope you come back and hope you have a better experience. We all work hard for what we have, and when a person goes on vacation they deserve to be treated with respect. Good luck in the future. My family and I are planning a vacation for next year in Myrtle Beach. I am at a loss for where we can stay at an affordable rate because there are more bad reviews than good. Thanks for the information and I definitely will not be staying here.
Westgate was horrible when we stayed too. Bugs and bait & switch. Had us to believe we were staying at the connecting bldg per the pics online and over priced! No good sleep that weekend
Recently had almost similar experience in Gatlinburg Tennessee. To make it worse we had more children with her Cindy kept his hostage. Present is with very upset that we would not give a down payment of 40000 dollars after 3 hour presentation and commit to free tells and others monthly plus yearly fees and taxes totaling over 2000 dollars. That is a scam
The timeshares are always not good. I mever buy them because of what you just shared ....I love myrtle beach but it looks lile y'all still made the best of it...also I clean for a living that bathroom was definitely off limits I would not have stayed there I would have gotten a discount and got a room at a different property...I'm upset for y'all lol thanks for the heads up...

Me and my family went also for the presentation, we wasn’t staying there. But, we got told 90 minutes and it took 4 and half hours. The lady at the end final closure or whatever she was. Got really mad at us for not purchasing and said we wasted her time. It was awful.
Agreed! We had a similar situation..2 hr commitment turned into almost all day, no exaggeration! Plus,Saleslady was adamant for our commitment once we refused to sign she called over her Supervisor,and he got upset we wouldnt commit either and therefore gave us over to their finanical dept mgr..he made another sales pitch and tried to final the deal. Our refusal meant nothing to them.We were again ushered into another dept so that we could sign out/off and treated poorly once we said enough is enough! We spent 5 1/2 hrs for the Timeshare presentation,being driven to sev Condo viewings,and a plethora of Sales pitches. We were done and leaving with or without any freebies.
Yes me and my family stayed at the one in Orlando westgate town center it was nice but they lied to us about the room we would be staying in 3bd they gave us a two presentation was 4 and half hours after they told us 90 min we got our Disney tickets and left they gave us option to come back and stay for 7 days 2,500 so we did but during that time we were still harassed after paying all that money about buying into there time share they are very aggressive I refused to stay another 4 hours after paying all that money I had to lie and tell them my pd was on and I needed to shower and order to leave but the property was nice it was cheaper for my family of 6 to stay here then on Disney property
For them to have great (pleasant) rooms for people to stay in so that people WOULD feel like they were missing out if they didn’t buy a timeshare, and if they did purchase one, that it would be properly maintained (by example of present rooms they were staying)... THAT’S what I expected! 😳
That's so sad they flat out don't care. And I have always been scared of timeshares because I heard they do that to people keep them longer and try to force you to buy their timeshare. I just stay away from them.
Yes, the timeshares can be a mess and a very tricky process... I’d have to have a lot of extra money to throw around to get involved, it’s really something 😏
Don't ever buy a Timeshare unless you want to be in dept for the rest of your life. So many people lost their timeshare after a couple years. You can't sell them, and Maintenace/taxes go up every year. Cheaper to pay for hotel when on vacation.
10 years ago (2010) I was employed with em as a timeshare sales rep. 2 weeks of training then we hit the sales floor 4th of July weekend (2010). Told us the new building was gonna be built within a matter of years..10 years later (2020) not a bit of construction has been made. Previously it was an old Holiday Inn
Work there 8 months ago doing remodeling was full of mold. Almost got sick the owners didn't want to spend money on the clean up. Bleach and covered up would not stay there
Girl, I know all about those “Time Shares”, and NO MA’AM. I didn’t even purchase one when they offered a time share to my Husband & me. I could tell that they just wanted our money only. A sho nuff rip off, in my opinion only, Sis.😕
iam glad I cancelled my reservations here..there under construction and they didn't even tell me ..they said my balcony would be blocked off..so I said ok..then read more bad reviews..so i cancelled..and booked with Patricia resort..iam going to myrtle beach July 31st - August 4th...my gut told me to switch hotels..I would be pissed if iam vacation and it's not worth it..I wanna be comfortable...dont reserve here there under construction..all your gonna here is load noise..read the reviews on there sit..its horrible

Thank you for sharing your WGMB experience. The sales people are pushy and don't take No for an answer easily. I believe everything that you are saying, but I want to share that I have absolutely LOVED my 2 stays at WG Myrtle Beach. In 2019, we were in the old hotel section above the front lobby. Our room was very NICE with 2 queen beds. Our balcony faced the Friendly's restaurant and Amusement Park view. The pandemic threw our return time off. We bought a "Try & Buy" visit for 7 nights for July 2022. We were treated as owners and stayed in a 1 bedroom villa on the 8th floor in the tower 2000 bldg. Our view was simply beautiful with an ocean view on the right and Family Kingdom Amusement park view to our left. We were directly over the inlet that rises with the tide and people swim there. Everyone wants a safe, clean environment for their family. Hopefully others will have experiences similar to ours. I can't wait to return to Westgate Myrtle Beach! Be blessed!💚

My family and I was thinking about staying here when we go back to Myrtle Beach at the end of this month. I'm glad you did this review, we will not be staying there. 👎
My family owns one. We’ve been to several location over the years: Orlando mostly, Las Vegas, Gatlinburg, Miami, Hawaii, and South Beach, FL. However, my wife (as an owner) requests a new bungalow if she doesn’t like the one we’re given. Also, when she doesn’t use it she rents it out for about by the night. And, since it operates like a hotel, she doesn’t have to worry about maintenance and upkeep. Families liked it because everyone was under one roof. Note: this was bought before Air BNB was a thing, which makes timeshare obsolete now.
During Covid they did a bunch of upgrades, the parking garage is now 10 stories high, 2 years ago they were just starting that construction, maybe next time you go don't do the "timeshare I'm I'm RUclips blogger" song and dance and just pay for a good room incognito. I think your experience would be a lot different. I have gone to this place and it's not what is described in this video. 😕
There was no I’m a RUclipsr song and dance, the place is simply old and outdated- in need of a knock down and rebuild. Many other Westgate properties are great. No reason this one should not be. People would be more apt to buy there if the 1st experience was nice, it’s common sense 😕
I always stay in tower 2000. My rooms have full kitchens, glass walk in shower, Jet tub in master suites, living room. The beds are so comfortable. I hope they upgrade tower 1000 for people who don't own. I'm sorry you had that experience.
Looks like you stayed on the hotel side of the property and not actually in the tower where the owners stay in. The structure that where you showed where the cars were parking underneath, that was supposed another tower. Westgate was originally going to build 3 towers on that property. How you saw all that has been like that since 2009 - 2010. Me personally I would never buy a timeshare because you don’t actually own anything. All you own is whatever week you purchased. If you’re looking for a vacation home because you like a certain destination and plan on visiting a lot. Then purchase your own condo and you can go whenever you want. You don’t have to worry to see if there’s availability or not it you wanna go last minute. Just my opinion.
Yes you can tell this hotel does have some age. What are the prices for the room and the timeshares presentation? Also can I book a a time next year around July 4th🤣🤣 time to turn up
They did the same to me and my husband in Vegas they give you a low budget room so when you see the property for sale you will be blown away it's like a trick of the mind!!! 😢😊
Well I'm not sure when this video was made but we just came back 2 weeks ago from staying there and we had the greatest experience ever. The rooms were clean, modern and beautiful and looked nothing like what was depicted here, so maybe they completely renovated. Hardwood floors, big beautiful comfortable beds, everything was pristine and clean. Honestly I will never stay anywhere else when I'm in Myrtle Beach ..,they treated us so great and they're so pet friendly also. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience.

No we weren't there for the timeshare thing we just were on a random family vacation, and it was so difficult to find a hotel that was not a dump, that allowed pets, as we had three dogs and a bird LOL. We started out with a street view room that was pretty small but on Monday they let us upgrade to a two-bedroom oceanfront for absolutely free, and we thought that was the greatest! The only complaint I did have was that they never refunded our dog deposit and I cleaned the rooms myself before we left and they were spotless. The parking situation is still a hot mess, but that dingy half parking garage looking thing at least is not there anymore. It's just a plain parking lot with some pretty trees. They are building a seven-story parking garage on the right hand side of the hotel so hopefully that will help out with parking in the future as we had to park two blocks away. Not sure if I would ever do the timeshare as I have not heard very good reviews about the presentation itself. Can I ask you how you got involved in that did they seek you out or did you find them? Thanks!
I've stayed at different westgate properties and never had a bad experience. When we did our presentation we were there about a hour and 30 mins only because we were doing paperwork. But ima do a review when we go in October.

I'm an owner with 4 bedrooms The beds are so comfortable, jet tub in the master suits, full kitchen, living room, glass walkin shower. All four of my rooms has a kitchen. 2 of them have jet tubs All 4 have walk in glass showers. I don't know why your so worried if your an owner.
They could help by tearing down that hotel and building a new one- no one wants to go on vacation thinking you’re going to be staying at the beautiful place that is advertised on the website to then be UNCOMFORTABLE for your stay away from home 💁🏽♀️🏡
We purchased a west gate timeshare in gatlinburg tn. Before we got to stay it burned down . They switched us to west gate to myrtle beach without our permission. It was absolutely horrible . The size difference we lost and then they wanted to charge us more . I told them it wasn’t happening . We didn’t sign any papers for them to change us to the beach . They wanted to change our dates when we could go , I was not happy . We no longer have the timeshare and will never own another one again .
Well, I was really looking for a review on a different location but I found yours and the part that hit me the most was the 4 hours of a meeting and talking to them, obviously the other stuff was not great either. I was going to do Westgate in Disney and thought an hour presentation would not be that bad but I don't have 4 hours to be in anything on my vacation. I only booked a 149 refundable trip and I am going to try and get out of it tomorrow I was looking for a deal and you seem very reasonable and I am surprised that you stayed for that long, thanks for your review
Westgate is normally very good. I’ve stayed at a couple different locations. The Smokey Mountain Resort is our favorite. But keep in mind that everywhere has been short on staff this past year too. Thanks for sharing
Yes, we love Westgate usually and have been to the one in the Smokey Mountains. This was a year before the Pandemic though when things were fully staffed.
I'll pass on the time share, and sales pitch. Yes there not a perfect room. no matter what the cost per night is. I usually read hotel reviews before I book a room.
No, we do not want a timeshare... my issue is- if you (or rather Westgate) wants someone to purchase with them, the place you put me for this “special deal” should be nice to in order to entice or tempt me to buy a timeshare, condo or WHATEVER. Not stick me in a “somewhat” half decent room accommodation. Most other places that do these deals have great accommodations for the deal. Annnd whether it’s nice or not- I’m not obligated to buy 👍🏽
I used to sell the timeshare there they purposefully make the hotel side terrible so that you take a tour and you see the timeshare part and they can try and sell you and timeshare. So yes they purposefully do not upkeep the hotel side and don't let me get into how they get you to buy a timeshare...horrible.
Always pay attention to those bad reviews from former hotel guests.If it is too good to be true,run and keep running! There are other decent hotels out there!☺😊😀😁😛😍☺☺😁😀😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😀😀😀😀😀

My Husband just made reservations for us at WESTGATE RESORTS ai Myrtle Bea in SC, I hope the are okay & have the standard working refrigerator & Microwave in working condition) I heard about this resort the reviews weren't good ( bed bugs , the view is of the of the parking area, d a/c blows out a foul smell etc.) Why would you have people stay in a messed up room and then have them go to a room that they made reservations for ( we made reservations for a week if this is true we've been missed greatly ) and they ( westGate ), is trying to get you to buy a Timeshare, my question is why are you showing a messed up room? That's a bad example
The parking garage was done by the time we came in May. We stayed in the Tower in a one bedroom suite. Full kitchen....the sofa was a sleeper so we had company for one night. I have no complaints. I was having health issues so staying close by was a must. We cooked in to save money. The view was beautiful. Very humid through and hard to breathe but over it was a great vacation.
I am also a hotel housekeeper by trade and know all the dirty little secrets that take place in five star hotels in the united states! Keep your do not disturb signs on your hotel room door during your entire stay.I always keep mine on!

My husband worked at Westgate (in Maintenance) several years ago, and the scam they run on people for that timeshare thing was going on then, too. Lots and lots of ANGRY people. After the four-hour 90-minute tour (LOL) they harass you and bully you and insult you if you don't pay for a timeshare. The sales people are jerks. The little bit of the property shown in your video shows that it has gone down hill since my hubby worked there. :( There were some really good people working there back then, but the few good ones can't make up for terrible leadership.

Time share discounts are discounts! They will not put you in new units, they only tour new units. That's why you have options on the amounts you want to spend. I'm going to be honest, looking for a discount will get you a discount room. No disrespect to you, we did the same thing. Everyone wants to save money for your family❤We figured that out years ago just like you did. Splurge on your vacation people!! Your Memories will last you a lifetime!!❤❤❤

I agree Tracy. We purchased with WG based off of a presentation at the Orlando location. I have stayed at Orlando and Tennessee locations both wete very nice Jacuzzi in master suite but when we visited the location in myrtle beach we had the same experience and ended our business with WG vased on that myrtle beach experience it reminds you of a motel versus a resort . Orlando and Tennessee were great and resort quality that has been probably 18 years ago my daughter was 4 when we went to Disney and stayed at the Orlando resort. TFS peace blessings much and continued success!!! Btw Hampton inn on Broadway offers a nice stay, we took an impromptu quick werkend trip sonce we live in Charlotte the beach for us is a quick trip booked with Hampton online and were pleasantly surprised.

I'm a Westgate owner at Gatlinburg and we exchanged to stay at Myrtle Beach back in 2017. Westgate said it was an upgrade so they tried to charge us $500 for the exchange. It was not an upgrade. I asked why they considered it an upgrade, one person said it was larger than our Gatlinburg unit, which it was not. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was one bed had a broken post and it caused the be to sit lopsided so you can't tell me that the cleaning staff didn't notice it. Then we noticed blood on the wall, carpet, and curtains! To finish it all off the air condition went out two days before we left. It was miserable but we did get our money back. By the way, the parking garage was in the same shape back in 2017 and looked like it had been that way for years, so who knows how long that unfinished mess has been there.

Were OG's to resort tour's, we'll take the freebies but Never purchased!🤣 However, nowadays no tours please for us!🧐 If your ever in Orlando try the Towncenter..they do very well to accommodate newbies..we do our family reunion there successfully! Staying in the old hotel while you are staying for a Timeshare presentation is awful. They are supposed to tear it down. It is TERRIBLE. But once you become an owner, the other building is absolutely beautiful.

We went to a Westgate resort near Disney- world in FL and for an extra few hundred they gave another week at any of their resorts as an owner. It turned out they didn’t have many properties we could reach by car and we booked a week in Myrtle Beach at the same location but we were in a renovated room in the tower. It was very nicely appointed and finishing must have been quite new. And we dodged the condo presentation because we had bought the week but at a very discounted rate. I can’t see why people would buy a timeshare or any condo unless the maintenance fees have some way of guaranteeing a limit on these costs. And over the decades my interests have shifted so a timeshare needs to have many opportunities to trade with many potential destinations. IMO the solution is for condo owners to offer a point system that a family buys and gets X weeks to use over a period of time. And when that time and / or the points are gone, it’s over..... they sell your weeks to someone else or you can buy more points to extend your affiliation. No annual fees, guaranteed access for the week you purchased and opportunity to trade ..... points do not change over time. There’s a reason people pay attorneys to terminate their ownership of condo weeks just to stop the maintenance fees. Ask General Trout .... Star Wars. Lol

We used to own a motel down there. It was not one of these big nice fancy motels either, I'll be the first to admit that. I will have to say that we cleaned it up and kept it that way. We cleaned the pool area up and had it redone. The rooms smelled musty and smoky. We took the carpet up in all rooms and put down a flooring that looked like wood. Didn't want to put down real wood being people coming in from the pool and the ocean. It would have been messed up in no time. We painted all the rooms, bought new beds and bedding. Purchased new linen, being bed sheets, pillow cases, and wash clothes. The bedside tables looked OK, just the stain didn't look all that great, we had those painted. We purchased new flat screen TV's, and the rooms looked very nice after all this. We really watch who we rented too. People out there don't care, esp when their drinking and partying. There were no smells anymore. The only thing is some people still took towels and wash clothes home with them? We were always buying new linen. But if you try and keep it clean people keep coming back and you make a lot of friends that are some good people. And they keep returning. As long as its clean people don't really mind paying a little more. But as you said in your review, there are some rude people in Myrtle Beach. But were not all like that. Hope you come back and hope you have a better experience. We all work hard for what we have, and when a person goes on vacation they deserve to be treated with respect. Good luck in the future. Recently had almost similar experience in Gatlinburg Tennessee. To make it worse we had more children with her Cindy kept his hostage. Present is with very upset that we would not give a down payment of 40000 dollars after 3 hour presentation and commit to free tells and others monthly plus yearly fees and taxes totaling over 2000 dollars. That is a scam

I mever buy them because of what you just shared ....I love myrtle beach but it looks lile y'all still made the best of it...also I clean for a living that bathroom was definitely off limits I would not have stayed there I would have gotten a discount and got a room at a different property...I'm upset for y'all lol thanks for the heads up...

Me and my family went also for the presentation, we wasn’t staying there. But, we got told 90 minutes and it took 4 and half hours. The lady at the end final closure or whatever she was. Got really mad at us for not purchasing and said we wasted her time. It was awful.

Agreed! We had a similar situation..2 hr commitment turned into almost all day, no exaggeration! Plus,Saleslady was adamant for our commitment once we refused to sign she called over her Supervisor,and he got upset we wouldnt commit either and therefore gave us over to their finanical dept mgr..he made another sales pitch and tried to final the deal. Our refusal meant nothing to them.We were again ushered into another dept so that we could sign out/off and treated poorly once we said enough is enough! We spent 5 1/2 hrs for the Timeshare presentation,being driven to sev Condo viewings,and a plethora of Sales pitches. We were done and leaving with or without any freebies.

Yes me and my family stayed at the one in Orlando westgate town center it was nice but they lied to us about the room we would be staying in 3bd they gave us a two presentation was 4 and half hours after they told us 90 min we got our Disney tickets and left they gave us option to come back and stay for 7 days 2,500 so we did but during that time we were still harassed after paying all that money about buying into there time share they are very aggressive I refused to stay another 4 hours after paying all that money I had to lie and tell them my pd was on and I needed to shower and order to leave but the property was nice it was cheaper for my family of 6 to stay here then on Disney property

You literally just have to tell them no you don't wanna buy and thats it.
Don't ever buy a Timeshare unless you want to be in dept for the rest of your life. So many people lost their timeshare after a couple years. You can't sell them, and Maintenace/taxes go up every year. Cheaper to pay for hotel when on vacation.

Told us the new building was gonna be built within a matter of years..10 years later (2020) not a bit of construction has been made. Previously it was an old Holiday Inn

Work there 8 months ago doing remodeling was full of mold. Almost got sick the owners didn't want to spend money on the clean up. Bleach and covered up would not stay there

iam glad I cancelled my reservations here..there under construction and they didn't even tell me ..they said my balcony would be blocked off..so I said ok..then read more bad reviews..so i cancelled..and booked with Patricia resort..iam going to myrtle beach July 31st - August 4th...my gut told me to switch hotels..I would be pissed if iam vacation and it's not worth it..I wanna be comfortable...dont reserve here there under construction..all your gonna here is load noise..read the reviews on there sit..its horrible

Thank you for sharing your WGMB experience. The sales people are pushy and don't take No for an answer easily. I believe everything that you are saying, but I want to share that I have absolutely LOVED my 2 stays at WG Myrtle Beach. In 2019, we were in the old hotel section above the front lobby. Our room was very NICE with 2 queen beds. Our balcony faced the Friendly's restaurant and Amusement Park view. The pandemic threw our return time off. We bought a "Try & Buy" visit for 7 nights for July 2022. We were treated as owners and stayed in a 1 bedroom villa on the 8th floor in the tower 2000 bldg. Our view was simply beautiful with an ocean view on the right and Family Kingdom Amusement park view to our left. We were directly over the inlet that rises with the tide and people swim there. Everyone wants a safe, clean environment for their family. Hopefully others will have experiences similar to ours. I can't wait to return to Westgate Myrtle Beach!

My family owns one. We’ve been to several location over the years: Orlando mostly, Las Vegas, Gatlinburg, Miami, Hawaii, and South Beach, FL. However, my wife (as an owner) requests a new bungalow if she doesn’t like the one we’re given. Also, when she doesn’t use it she rents it out for about by the night. And, since it operates like a hotel, she doesn’t have to worry about maintenance and upkeep. Families liked it because everyone was under one roof.
Note: this was bought before Air BNB was a thing, which makes timeshare obsolete now.

During Covid they did a bunch of upgrades, the parking garage is now 10 stories high, 2 years ago they were just starting that construction, maybe next time you go don't do the "timeshare I'm I'm RUclips blogger" song and dance and just pay for a good room incognito. I think your experience would be a lot different. I have gone to this place and it's not what is described in this video. 😕
There was no I’m a RUclipsr song and dance, the place is simply old and outdated- in need of a knock down and rebuild. Many other Westgate properties are great. No reason this one should not be. People would be more apt to buy there if the 1st experience was nice, it’s common sense 😕

A good place to stay at is Crescent Shores
I always stay in tower 2000.
My rooms have full kitchens, glass walk in shower, Jet tub in master suites, living room. The beds are so comfortable.
I hope they upgrade tower 1000 for people who don't own.

It's crazy cause Thats how all the Westgate rooms I ever been in are.
Looks like you stayed on the hotel side of the property and not actually in the tower where the owners stay in. The structure that where you showed where the cars were parking underneath, that was supposed another tower. Westgate was originally going to build 3 towers on that property. How you saw all that has been like that since 2009 - 2010. Me personally I would never buy a timeshare because you don’t actually own anything. All you own is whatever week you purchased. If you’re looking for a vacation home because you like a certain destination and plan on visiting a lot. Then purchase your own condo and you can go whenever you want. You don’t have to worry to see if there’s availability or not it you wanna go last minute. Just my opinion.

Well I'm not sure when this video was made but we just came back 2 weeks ago from staying there and we had the greatest experience ever. The rooms were clean, modern and beautiful and looked nothing like what was depicted here, so maybe they completely renovated. Hardwood floors, big beautiful comfortable beds, everything was pristine and clean. Honestly I will never stay anywhere else when I'm in Myrtle Beach ..,they treated us so great and they're so pet friendly also. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience.

No we weren't there for the timeshare thing we just were on a random family vacation, and it was so difficult to find a hotel that was not a dump, that allowed pets, as we had three dogs and a bird LOL. We started out with a street view room that was pretty small but on Monday they let us upgrade to a two-bedroom oceanfront for absolutely free, and we thought that was the greatest! The only complaint I did have was that they never refunded our dog deposit and I cleaned the rooms myself before we left and they were spotless. The parking situation is still a hot mess, but that dingy half parking garage looking thing at least is not there anymore. It's just a plain parking lot with some pretty trees. They are building a seven-story parking garage on the right hand side of the hotel so hopefully that will help out with parking in the future as we had to park two blocks away. Not sure if I would ever do the timeshare as I have not heard very good reviews about the presentation itself. Can I ask you how you got involved in that did they seek you out or did you find them? Thanks!
I've stayed at different westgate properties and never had a bad experience. When we did our presentation we were there about a hour and 30 mins only because we were doing paperwork. But ima do a review when we go in October.

We purchased a west gate timeshare in gatlinburg tn. Before we got to stay it burned down . They switched us to west gate to myrtle beach without our permission. It was absolutely horrible . The size difference we lost and then they wanted to charge us more . I told them it wasn’t happening . We didn’t sign any papers for them to change us to the beach . They wanted to change our dates when we could go , I was not happy . We no longer have the timeshare and will never own another one again .

Well, I was really looking for a review on a different location but I found yours and the part that hit me the most was the 4 hours of a meeting and talking to them, obviously the other stuff was not great either. I was going to do Westgate in Disney and thought an hour presentation would not be that bad but I don't have 4 hours to be in anything on my vacation. I only booked a 149 refundable trip and I am going to try and get out of it tomorrow I was looking for a deal and you seem very reasonable and I am surprised that you stayed for that long, thanks for your review

Westgate is normally very good. I’ve stayed at a couple different locations. The Smokey Mountain Resort is our favorite. But keep in mind that everywhere has been short on staff this past year too. Thanks for sharing
Yes, we love Westgate usually and have been to the one in the Smokey Mountains. This was a year before the Pandemic though when things were fully staffed.

I'll pass on the time share, and sales pitch. Yes there not a perfect room. no matter what the cost per night is. I usually read hotel reviews before I book a room.

You are actually wanting a time share? really? Not many people buy timeshares anymore. Just buy the condo.
No, we do not want a timeshare... my issue is- if you (or rather Westgate) wants someone to purchase with them, the place you put me for this “special deal” should be nice to in order to entice or tempt me to buy a timeshare, condo or WHATEVER. Not stick me in a “somewhat” half decent room accommodation. Most other places that do these deals have great accommodations for the deal. Annnd whether it’s nice or not- I’m not obligated to buy 👍🏽
I used to sell the timeshare there they purposefully make the hotel side terrible so that you take a tour and you see the timeshare part and they can try and sell you and timeshare. So yes they purposefully do not upkeep the hotel side and don't let me get into how they get you to buy a timeshare...horrible.

My youngest daughter and I went on a timeshare presentation.. 90 minutes long.. right.. 4 hours later the salesman became irate with us because I wouldn't buy on the spot. Westgate stunk so bad we left

My sister and her husband did a deal like this for a different hotel and company but their experience matched yours. Their room was nicer but held captive for 4 hours at the presentation.
