I remember randomly finding this song about 3 years ago, I really loved it and often came back to it whenever I felt lonely at night and just felt like crying my eyes out. After a while I started looking more into Alex/alicks' music, i started regularly listening to it every night, every time I felt suicidal, lonely, just completely lost in this fucked up world. I can't really begin to explain through how much stuff his music has accompanied me when I had no one else, now that I'm done with school life's starting to look a lot brighter and I'm finally starting to find some happiness. I made a pact with myself when I was in about 9th grade I think; if I didn't find a reason to live I would kill myself once I'm done with school, thought I can't really say that I found that reason I can definitely tell anyone that's in a similar situation to please please keep going I love you and you will find people who also do, maybe even someone thats special to you, that you want to spend your life with, just that can be your reason to live! You probably heard this a thousand times but you'll see me say it here again because it couldn't be more true, me being someone that has spent most her nights in the last couple of years crying and thinking about killing herself, fuck even having survived suicide attempts twice, you should believe me when I say that life will get better, you will find happiness, you will find a reason to keep going, you will find people who love just as I did. I quietly crept into my brother's room this morning upon hearing his muffled groans through the wall and carefully placed my chai latte on the nightstand then proceeded to alight the candles in his room. I sit at his bedside and put my wrist to his forehead, reaching down for my Benjamin's my wrist to twist it tight. He nearly bent my wrist backward, but I was fortunate enough to wrest it away from his grasp to grab his meds... all of this transpired while he was still unconscious. The pain was+ unbearable [and always will be]- to watch my elder brother wildy kick about like some kind of rabid animal, hear him shout at the top of his lungs in agony as I forcefully pryed his arm from uncontrollably pulling at entire fistfuls of his shaggy jet black hair, seeing his handsome face contort into expressions I never knew possible... still, Ben poured every ounce of will he had in him to control his arms behind his head and beneath his pillow, as so he couldn't twist my wrists any more, nor any body else's. This also gave me time to put the gates up on both sides of his home hospice bed and lower it as well. It made my eyes well up to where I was forced to use the sleeve of my sweater to clear them. Benjamin, however? No. He wore a determined grimace. I took his hand in mine once again, and he made brief eye contact with me then cracked a brief smile. He took a in several short, relaxed breaths desperate feeling to have helplessness. His breathing steadied though, and several laughter filled minutes go by as all becomes well again. but as we think he's out of danger, Ben shot back up in his bed with alarming speed and grabbed the back of my hand tight. "Aimiee! Going- *wheeze, gasp* -back in!!" He clutched his chest, a telltale 'red flag' signifying the fit was escalating. Benjamin, my Step- NO, MY BROTHER, was about to have a highly rare "Back to Back" seizure. His breathing again began escalating and I started the timer once again. His mouth falls open as he starts to scream, his eyes fluttered upwards into his head as he fell back into his seizure. There's nothing I could do to for him but guide him through it. It's a horrifying, desperate and helpless feeling, The entire of his body violently convulses and Benjamin claims this sensation to be synonymous to being electrocuted. He can even recall several minutes prior to the beginning stages before blacking out from shock. Though his migraine-induced seizures he has are long and ugly, he wills himself through each of them. Pa is it's Gods Grace that he doesn't remember the extremely painful incidents of episodes he suffers. By now, My hair is matted to my face with tears, but I can't show of it otherwise I'd have failed him as a stepsister. I look into those half closed eyes filled with determination when I whisper to him, "Just breathe, listen to the soothing beats, Benjamin... they're going to save you, Benjamin," as I brush his hair to the side, seeing his legs have ceased their fit beneath the blankets.
