Which one did you see that looks 800? I know some are very old passed on through generations. Yesterday i watched this video where a japanese bonsai master had a tree from early 19th century. Holy ass!!
The dedication that is put in these specimens are truly remarkable. Most of these plants are passed down from generation to generation. Each generation sculpting and defining their plant with the next generation to take over. Remarkable what determination can accomplish
The beauty of Bonsai is truly captured when you imagine what it would feel like to be next to a tree like that in its full natural size... what an amazing art work
I went from watching impractical jokers to forging a Damascus blade to crayfish to making chocolate at home and... now this... it’s 2am and I’m watching videos of miniature trees...
What the hell same here went from "your wish is my command" to we do but not really know how they made Damascus steel and then a grayfish eating record to how chocolates are made to this...now it's 3 in the morning
Please incorporate scale more. It was amazing to see these huge, ancient bonsai trees in comparison to spectators. Many will maybe assume these are table-sized, but took generations to cultivate. Thank you for the amazing share 👏🙌
BREATHTAKING!!!These folks growing these beautiful trees are artists!!!I myself make beautiful artificial bonsai trees,But nothing beats the real deal!!!
I bought my first bonsai tree today on a whim and never knew so much hard work and time went into them. I always thought they just kinda grew that way and never thought about it.
Some interesting colourful pots, not the usual formal look to them. Many of the Juniper's, had more of a bonsai tree look them, than a full size tree look to them. I couldn't imagine these trees in a real life setting or imagine a scale to them. They were beautiful trees, but I miss the miniature magic with them. The Ficus trees were really outstanding, they captured the image of a mature full size Ficus really well, I could imagine me standing underneath these old trees. It is interesting that they don't have any aerial roots hanging down from the branches. Maybe they thicken up too much and cause the branches to loose their taper and fine ramification? A fantastic show, thanks for being there and recording it for us!
Probably these junipers are not sufficiently refined for its aesthetic taste. Is it possible that if the Taiwanese Bonsaist had introduced some small plastic animal, zebras or perhaps lions toy , the aesthetic content and the scale of reduction would have been more understandable to you?
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you like the "bonsai"Junipers, there are lots of them around to appreciate! Maybe some day I'll grow to like the white painted deadwood and the polished live veins and the cute little pine tree pads.
Pls appreciate the bonsais...their immaculate beauty depicting the fully grown trees in their miniature version...its an art which takes many years to master it.....let's not bring politics...countries...corruption etc..in appreciating...this marvelous..works of bonsai...pls.
I like the literati at 9:08 and the forest group at 9:43 the best. All the others, although technical marvels with a high novelty first impact, I can not imagine myself as a little bird flying through the branches of those trees as they have been so overly stylised and top heavy that they have become synthetic. Atleast, that is how I perceive them.
Wow......!
Thanks again Bonsai empire for taking us along to stunning Bonsai that we otherwise would have never been able to see! Some amazing and a bit different than we usually see from Japan Bonsai! It is great to see that every country or nation has a different approach and species to style their Bonsai. Some are truly amazing and very impressive indeed! One thing that I don't like that much though is the leg of maturity of the topsoil layers in almost all the Bonsai in this video. The one tone brown colour of the fresh akadama surface and the obviously recently planted mos look a bit artificial to me. I don't know if it is because they have to repot a lot over there or if they just like it like that? But the soil should be more mature and more natural looking in my opinion. But that's just me....and I would not mind at all to have all of them ....or even one! :) Cheers, Hans van Meer.
You'd be dead by the time it turns into a super beautiful bonsai since the trees in this video are 100+ years old. But I guess imortality can still be possible
however its truly beautiful and a work of art, for me this surpasses the boundary of natural and too polished up. Its sometimes obviously fake looking with paint, cut out trunks and stuff. Respect for the craft.
love this kind of videos, excellent music choice, crisp images. even tho im not much of a bonsai dude, i cant help but to admire this artform. thanks for the effort.
Brony Artist it's maintain is so easy, it's like any other plant. It need water, substrate... There are lots of videos in RUclips, I recommend you Escuela de Bonsai Online, if you see it's videos with subtitles, you will learn a lot. *And to think that the people who started growing these fantastic trees are, probably, all long gone by now.* _Never seeing how their masterpieces ended up._ My mother, RIP, bought a bonsai tree some 40 years ago. It cost a pretty penny even back then. She kept it inside. I kept telling her, _"It's a tree. Keep it outside and only bring it in for special occasions."_ She didn't believe me and it died within a few years.
Personally, I think the quality of Taiwan’s bonsai is very high. They address to the details and at the same time, they have their own characteristics. While they have less pines & junipers, maybe 30%, they have many other beautiful species.
Believe it or not, i grow mangos from seeds and when a two weeks tree dies I almost cry and feel pain. I cant imagine losing a masterpiecr bonsai tree.
It's not a type of plant. It's any plant with a limited amount of nutrients during growth. ( Not any species, but a number of them could be made into bonsai)
Hello there! Son of a bonsai tree judge over here, and from experience (I’ve been to about eleven zillion competitions) preparing a bonsai tree for a competition takes a lot of luck. You give it water and sunlight and the plant equivalent of steroids and pray. Usually, winners of competitions lose a lot of their beauty after a competition because of all the chemicals that make it pretty. If they don’t pass away, their usually taken away frommtbe spotlight for a few years so the owner can recooperate. The only time this doesn’t happen is when someone plays by the rules, which happened twice during an expo in Salt Lake City in 2018 and 2019 respectively, where the same beautiful bonsai oak got practically perfect scores twice in a row. I heard it‘s living its best life in a peace garden in Kyoto. Hope this helps
If I could afford to collect bonsai masterpieces I would have a sanctuary of bonsai trees... but unfortunately for me I live in poverty/super poor to say the least!
Each would be more than hundred year old....in fact one of these is 800 year old....how much time and hard work it takes to grow is simply amazing
kautschuk Why does he need to clean it? Is he the president of India? You need to clean up your brain so you don't generalize people.
@kautschuk how many times have you been to India?... I can assure you that there is less shit in the entire country than your brain
@kautschuk Yes we do, but how is it relevant here?

The smooth surface of the Bonsai tree with the precise trimming of the leaves are so beautiful
Amazing..need a long time
I didnt realize how often dead wood is incorporated into the design. Quite beautiful to have that white peeking through
They bleach the white parts
They remove the bark
bonsai trees are so beautiful
And lovely
and tree-like.
And expensive
And older than we are

Loosing any of that is like loosing a family by the good care and time you spent for the bonsai.

This passion must run in the blood for generations, for bonsai passion really take years in order to achieve such pristine forms and figures.

Im sure you cannot see how beautiful it was because you die first before you witness their beauty. It takes hundred years to grow like these.
NGL this is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen.

Watching the bonsai tree is stress buster
For me, they are more beautiful and precious than diamonds.
I hope to grow something beautiful like these one day.
well you actually make the plant grow that way, by bending and cutting so it's not a natural growing proces, and you also need to maintain them
You'd be dead by the time it turns into a super beautiful bonsai since the trees in this video are 100+ years old. But I guess imortality can still be possible

@@tofucube7703 Depends on the type of tree. Age adds value, no doubt. Plenty of fast growing trees can be just as beautiful as a bonsai.

Not that hard , if they're trying to grow up you smash 'em with your foot and yell at them.

Exactly i was thinking the same

Simply great hardwork of the generations
Imagine the care taken for them when they are re-porting🤯🤯

Absolutely stunning
It must be hard for the judges to decide who's the winner all of them are beautiful

Yes same question
look amazing
If you win this show with a 100 years old bonsai, can you keep contesting the next 400 years with the same tree?
I don’t really think that’s the meaning of this “show” it’s not trying to compete, it’s just for showing people the amazing beauty.
The answer is, yes and maybe 500more years too
