This bizarre concept of “my truth” has been around longer than some realize. My story; back in 1993 I was working as a computer programmer at a bank. My manager quit, and was replaced by this lady around 50. One day I was telling her about the night operators chronic errors, and his lies about it. She cut me off and said “Well, your truth is different from Ted’s truth. “. I had ZERO idea what she meant. I replied “No. there’s truth and there’s lies. What Ted is telling you is lies. “ Then she went on some long rant about everyone having “their own truth”. It was there and then I knew my new boss was insane. It was only years later I realized that her words are code for “I’m a crazy liberal. “.

I didn't like him in the past, then thought he was being disingenuous when he started expressing more nuanced opinions, now I genuinely believe that he has recognized his own flaws and made strides to improve himself. Btw “coming full circle” on something is to go back to what you started with. So in this case saying that would mean that you went from not liking him to liking him, then back to not liking him again. In your case say “pulled a 180” instead. 👍

I had previously considered myself a traditional Liberal. However, when trying to engage in open conversation with the current Left, is almost traumatic. Even if we ask polite, genuine questions, we are just met with vulgar insults and threats. It’s pushed me, and my husband, towards the right. Even if I disagree with people on the right, they don’t call me names, or threaten my family. They argue, with facts-based opinions.
They also so strongly believe in their opinions with no evidence that they will gaslight anyone who disagrees with them into thinking maybe I am racist/sexist.. etc

This is great to see two highly intelligent people from different viewpoints actually growing in their understanding of each other; on the topics that they've covered specifically, as well as their demeanor in general. I used to despise Piers Morgan, but since he has finally opened his mind to actually *hearing* the other side of the aisle and kept an open mind, he is finally seeing the *truth.* There will forever be bad politicians on both sides of the aisle, which is why it's so important to be objective without absorbing everything your favorite news source is feeding your mind. That was one of the most mature and refreshing interviews I have seen in recent times, between two people whose views do not always align, but who treat each other with respect and who debate objectively not emotionally, with an open mind. In doing so, their opinions evolve and adapt towards a consensus. That happens so rarely these days, it is almost unique 😢
This was not a debate, but a conversation. Peoples inability to admit they're wrong in a debate setting, is why Michael Malice says he never has them, only does conversations. In a debate everyone comes in with "my truth," and vast majority of people are incapable of admitting that they're wrong, willing to say pretty much anything to feel like they won. I guess it comes from debate format being combative/confrontational, which puts people in a combative state. While conversations are by their nature cooperative.

It may be better understood if the word "in" was used, instead of "on". Of course, not all feelings are based in Lies, and not all facts are based in Truth. I've come full circle on Piers. I didn't like him in the past, then thought he was being disingenuous when he started expressing more nuanced opinions, now I genuinely believe that he has recognized his own flaws and made strides to improve himself. I had previously considered myself a traditional Liberal. However, when trying to engage in open conversation with the current Left, is almost traumatic. Even if we ask polite, genuine questions, we are just met with vulgar insults and threats. It’s pushed me, and my husband, towards the right. What a fantastic interview. And Piers did quite the honorable (and frankly, rare these days) thing by pointing out his own flaws of the original interview and realizing why it wasn’t received well.
That was one of the most mature and refreshing interviews I have seen in recent times, between two people whose views do not always align, but who treat each other with respect and who debate objectively not emotionally, with an open mind. In doing so, their opinions evolve and adapt towards a consensus. That happens so rarely these days, it is almost unique 😢

This was not a debate, but a conversation. Peoples inability to admit they're wrong in a debate setting, is why Michael Malice says he never has them, only does conversations. So funny how I've come to appreciate Mr. Morgan over the years from how I saw him during that first interview with Mr. Shapiro. He's funny, authentic, and willing to listen and reevaluate. This was delightful!

He did NOT admit he was wrong . He said the way he SPOKE about it was not the best way . ( I am paraphrasing ) Pay attention to what he is saying . He is a waring neocon that wants to keep arming Ukraine ,and take our self protection away . Mark my words he will not give up on gun control . He will just be slicker about it . I lost all respect for him . Let him go fix London where they are stabbing people to death . Those are the stats he needs to hear .
Gun control in the US is pointless anyway. We have over 300 million illegal guns on the streets. Laws won't affect that one iota.

When I have given facts I actually would get "I don't care about your facts, this is how I feel".
Ben is right, I myself had considered being on the left and the same as most of my friends and family and now we all have given up being left because of the crazy direction they have gone.
Well, you shouldn't ever pick teams when it comes to politics, that's what fucked it up in the first place. You can be on the left on issues like public health care and environmental protection without giving into this whole woke culture BS.
Yeah, because the GOP and the right are making so much sense right now. That makes perfect sense. Neither side has any idea what it's doing--if you're looking for direction from them, you're looking in the wrong place--they're just gonna lead you right off the cliff.
@@B20C0 I absolutely agree with this person!! ^^^^ I have opinions on both sides of the aisle and pretty much sit on the fence bw the two party system because of how I feel about certain topics, one or another. I will never designate myself left or right, because at the end of the day they're both bad in their own ways and good in the same manner. It's okay to be neither. And just have your views that works both sides. When it comes to choosing who will best fit for the role of who will represent your views well and for the people who put them in that role.
Well that's your first problem, is identifying or choosing a side. How about being neutral and using logic without the need to choose a side in the first place. Who gives a damn about being right, left, up, down, blah blah
