I found the difference when playing on the batter heads remarkably similar... unbelievably close in fact. The only real difference to my ears was when the timbales were played on the shells (cascara) towards the end. That difference was pronounced to my hearing, with the brass shells being sounding a bit softer and less sharp. Both sound great, so take your pick or let your wallet decide if any price difference is worth the difference. Either way, you can't lose with such fabulous instruments. Yet more great examples of LP products.

Three are a bit more harmonics on the brass ones.
