I bumped my sens to 12 and my ads mod to 0.5. So my ADS tracking didn’t change at all but there was a steep learning curve for turning and hipfire. But now I’m a fulltime ape and since I’m not human anymore I don’t pay taxes.

I recently have switched up so much stuff and this was very helpful. Upgraded from XBO to a Series X. Changed my FOV in D2. I've been playing different FPS games(Halo, Apex, etc). My LED tv from 7+years ago finally gave out and I got a 4k one now. This has all made me forget the muscle memory I've built up. My shot felt so off (bad) in D2 recently. I just didn't know what the issue was. Felt like I was walking in mud. Your changes helped that tremendously. I finally feel fast again. I was flicking snipes with ease last night. Thanks so much for the tip.
@FalloutPlays This is very helpful. Very well done. Might I add that, some people simply need to learn how to, or work more on centering their reticle before ADSing. It will minimize the distance needed to snap a shot to the head if needed. Would love to see a more in depth display of this if possible. It's a serious tip any player can learn, myself included.
After watching this video, i checked my destiny 2 controller sensitivity and i had 10 and 1.0, so tested more with sensitivity and i have now changed it to 9 and.0.7 which is way better for me
I was an on-and-off D2 player on Xbox since mid 2020 and the one thing that prevented me from actually wanting to play the game more is the lack of ADS sensitivity. Every shooter that I played before(R6 Siege, Overwatch, even CoD) has had an ADS slider so aiming in D2 was off from the get go for me. Back before Season of the Lost, I had to set my sensitivity to 4 out of 10 because I wanted to be able to aim precisely, but I’d lose gunfights to people who slid behind me with shotguns because I couldn’t turn around quick enough. But if I put my sense to 10 out of 10, then my aim at ranges beyond 4 meters would suffer greatly even though I could 180 people just fine. The addition of the ADS slider was a life saver for me since now I can have a high looking sensitivity to react to people who get behind me and be able to aim at decent ranges with hand cannons and rifles. It’s definitely the reason why I actually play a ton of D2 now.
I have the exact same controller sensitivity settings in Halo. The assault rifle feels so good but the slower ads sensitivity makes it much more easier to follow opponents when firing. The best method I've found when it comes to these changes is to pre-aim by the hip, and then fine tune by ads Hopefully more studios implement this kind of tuning into their games because its such a grand quality of life change and I can't imagine playing without them.
For anyone wondering, the ADS modifier is a percentage of your look sensitivity. .5 ADS speed is 50% of your look speed, and .7 ADS is 70% of your look speed. Keep this in mind when altering your settings. For example, I run 16 look sensitivity with a .5 modifier, making my sensitivity while ADS equivalent to 8 look sensitivity.
That’s not actually how it works within this game, all the different weapon types have their own unique aim down sights sensitivity. If you take a program like Kovaak’s sensitivity matcher you can go test it yourself if you’d like.
Both stink and user ov 9 are wrong 😅 1 is assuming controller is the same as mnk (linear) Wich is not. And the other guy did not read what this guy typed.
I feel dumb. Sigh. I can't believe I never realized those sensitivities are separate settings. I've always had problems overcorrecting while ADS in PVP (and I will still always suck at PVP), but this will help. Thank You for posting this.
I still remember when I started on D1, I was playing with level 10 sensitivity 🤣 my friends couldn't understand how I functioned with it so snappy, then somewhere along the line it dropped to 3 and they wondered how I did it so slow, I think I've gradually worked it back up to 8 currently, I would change it and throw myself into Crucible for a day until I got the hang of it, next day jump up to the next level and suffer through it some more, rinse repeat (that's also how I taught myself to snipe in crucible in D1, I started sniping in Trials until I got good at it cause if I could Trials snipe I could do it any mode-- the sink or swim approach worked fairly well) My biggest trick though is changing the reticle color. I found a lot of the time the blue or green reticles would get lost in the map, so I made mine magenta (favorite color, and it stands out on any map) I'm so used to fps that I usually tune out the sights, but it can be handy when trying to precisely aim a GL or something with a arc shaped trajectory, or precision sniping And kind of like how I would always test my sensitivity settings and how I taught myself to snipe competitively, I use Crucible as my testing grounds for new controller settings (mods and stuff I try out in pve since it's easier to test there) It forces me to adapt to the controller changes so I don't die as much, and the frustration just drives me to adjust quicker so I can return the ass kicking I just got dealt 😂 the added benefit of course being if you try it in pvp where your opponents can adapt as you do and force you to learn on the fly, you'll definitely be ready for the limited decision making of the enemy AI in pve or Gambit
I moticed it earlier today coincidentally, but the one that stuck out to me was the “Sprint-Turn” one, which as someone who for years has always hated how slow i turn when i sprint, feels so much better
The ADS senstitivity modifier does NOT alone determine how fast you turn while ADS. It is a multiplier for your regular looking sensitivity. So for example your new ADS sensitivity with 9/0.8 is even slightly higher than your old 7/1 cause 7.2 is bigger than 7. I dont know if you meant it that way, I just couldn't tell by what you said when explaining the two values.
This is a great video. I've been telling my friends to mess with those settings. I currently use a 18 sensitivity and a 0.5 multiplier. It's great. Instant turn speed, pin point accuracy.
FoV can also make a huge difference with a gun, pretty sure CoolGuy has a video on that. Drastically changes some guns like Crimson, I've gone down to 95 FoV and can feel a noticeable difference in some weapons
I played so much competitive Overwatch and it really helped with learning what percentages I should use and how it scales, but man really do monkey around till you find what works 😊 Remember your also not always aiming! If your fast enough you could even turn down your ads even more and just instead flick off from aiming to hipfire to aiming for even more precision in aiming 😊
I was in a legendary lost sector with 2 linears and a bow. And I ended up cramping my hand trying to land head shots from hours of grinding. I don’t know how long I was playing on 1.5 ads modifier but that was the cause of my frustration. This video saved me from quitting the game. Thank you. I’m in grasp of avarice trying to find settings I’m comfortable with. I noticed the lower I go with ads modifier the stickier aim assist seems to be. I’ve never felt aim assist quite like this. Makes me wonder just how long I was set to 1.5. Thanks again. I always went with sidearm + pulse/scout in pvp. With these new settings I think I can finally try snipers again. Maybe handcannons won’t feel so horrible either. I spent most of my life as a mouse and keyboard player. So I always thought I just sucked with a controller lol.
Screen bounds. Lower them and your radar amongst other things are closer in so you don't have to look further away to it. I can't go back to max screen bounds now, it feels weird but I feel it gives me an edge, not having to look so far away. Thought it would be worth a shout.
I've never touched ADS sensitivity, but I was at 10 Look sensitivity for a while before the cap for that got bumped up to 20. Tried 20, that was a bit much, so dropped it to 15 and that was good. Tried going up to 16 but that's just a step too far for me. I'm actually surprised how many people's preffered sensitivity is with the original 1-10 range from before controllers got expanded options, it seemed like "turning too slow" was a common complaint about controller, but I guess that's a vocal minority thing.
No. We had our turn speed but it cost a mod slot. Especially dumb when they took away the bonus mobility. Bungo focusing on a minority of players at the detriment to the playerbase that made them makes me sick.
I feel that lower sens works better for me. I sure need to be much more aware of my movement and map positions but my accuracy is so on point that I often out ttk every weapon type with my Monte Carlo 3 sens squad!!
I agree with you there. I used to play on a 3 before the sensitivity changes . I would recommend doubling your sense and playing with a .5 ads. You can mess around with it but you essentially get the best of both worlds fast for close quarters and slow for accuracy. I now play on a 10 sense with a .5 it's awsome.
I changed mine a while back. One tip though, make gradual changes. I found changing either by more than 2 clicks to be quite jarring as its surprising how big the effect is.
My player name in Destiny 2 is "FalloutOW", and I was asked in a game once if I was Fallout. I explained that no, I wasn't sure who that was and that my name originates from me falling out Of a Window when I was 8. My curiosity got the best of me, and I found this video. Good stuff for surely, lots of good information that I'll have to put to good use.
Bro this made such a difference. First time I ever looked at my setting and my sensitivity was at 2😂😂 bumped it up to 5 and it's so much better. I play on Xbox and use hand cannon/sniper and this was an insanely helpful tip.
When I bought a PS5, I went from 5/1, to 12/0.5 and it felt amazing with all weapon types. The increased FoV to 105 also made a huge impact to awareness.
@@cia6911 Yeah, I have the same issue as well, really enjoyed the feeling of 105, at first, but then struggled against really good players in PvP, so now, currently I have moved back to 95, n it seems to be working out pretty well, Some folks should try that setting out n see if it can help with improving the experience.
Man !!! Way to go dude I was just messing around with this for the last three weeks and it has made my flicking on snipers and my handcannon flicks on controller wayyyy better . Like you, I'm a Day 1 D1 gamer, some 8 years now, and that's all because of my love for Halo. When I went looking around for the next version of Xbox so I could rejoin in Halo, I saw an advertisement which read, "If you are a Halo fan then you will love this new game from the creators, called Destiny." Since I wasn't a big Microsoft fan at the time, I decided to give Destiny a run, and BOY what a run it's been. 💯🕺💃 In these years I've burned through around 8 controllers, 2 include Razor Raiju. 🥵 If I'm able to find a PS5 soon I won't consider getting a new one, but if I do, I'm going to try Scuff. Several of my clan members have talked about it. 👍
My sense really impacted my game drastically and the ads modifier did wonders for me. As someone who played league of legends for 4 long years with very limited desk space, my sense is v e r y high (17 look sense, 800 dpi with a 0.8 ads modifier). I use my wrist to both move and aim as i'm accustomed to it and I've seen nothing but success having the ads lower.
I learned to adjust my ADS sens playing overwatch of all games, cause of the sniper heroes. Good catch on this one for D2, I'm gonna try adjusting the setting.
I was so excited for these settings. After watching this I looked, everything was still default. Some small adjustments and 🤩 so much better. It is still hard af to keep up with mmk players but everything feels so much better.
Something that helped me on M&K was setting my DPI to max on my mouse (mine is 4000 dpi) and lowing in game settings. Having a higher dpi actually lowers input latency and I went from being horrible in PvP to being ok but in other games like Battlefield 4 I have amazing aim now. I just suck at the ability part of the game.
As soon as the look sensitivity modifiers came up for controller, I immediately jumped from 5 sens to 10 sens at 0.5 mod. I then started working my way up to 11 at 0.5, 12/0.5, then 13/0.5 before transitioning to 16/0.6. I find this to be the most flexible sensitivity value, and I've seen a few videos highlighting this particular sensitivity, so I recommend everyone who isn't already playing at or above this sens level to at least try working your way up to it.
I’m an idiot… I never knew what ads modifier was. I thought it was lower = faster so I’ve had it at the very bottom since they released that setting for controller. I hope this improves my game some to raise it! Thanks fallout
Thanks for the clarification of the individual modifiers. I bumped my LS up to 9 when I first started switching between m&k and controller. It helped smooth the transition since I was used to the faster input, but I could never find the sweet spot on controller. Now that I know the difference between the two it should help me dial it in. Also, I couldn't help but notice - FP: "...but on the whole I feel much more comfortable..." Cause my mind never left middle school.
Switched grenade and jump on controller and it was a huge game changer. I never realized how much having to take my finger off the stick to jump was limiting my aerial game. Now I feel like I'm actually playing the game like a Guardian and not master chief
Controller player here. Xbox elite. Have had jump, crouch, interact buttons mapped to paddles since D1. Recently got back into D2, and new change was mapping switch weapons to RB (previously was finisher), and it’s been a small, but valuable change.
Love this. Made the change as soon as it came around. Upped my sensitivity to 16 from 8 when we got increased movement but then put the ADS at 0.5. My ads became second nature due to it being my previous look speed but my over all look speed increased
@@nexenojustice552 they said in a previous post. Direct from bungie that the ADS is linear. 0.5 equates to 50% reduction. The 0.1 - 1.0 is a direct scale to the percentage reduction.
I've always been a snappy and twitchy shooter in the games I play, played Halo on max sensitivity settings, the new Doom games on high sensitivity while using MnK. With D2 I always felt like something was off, never quite being able to hit shots while using snipers and having quite a few times of missing with hand cannons, the idea never occurred to me that I might be moving too fast, gonna give these setting a shot and try adjusting to get better results. Thanks for making this video because until now I thought I was bad at D2 for some reason XD
That's funny because before you even posted this video I was playing with 7 ads .8 on controller when I first restarted my mainstream playing. Then I moved to 9 ads .8 and flipped 8 ads .9 and I got to agree the improvement to my hand cannon abilities were crazy
I went to a high sens but low ads sens on cod, because the thought process is that high sense makes you faster to react to things, but a low one makes you more accurate. I think the sweet spot I found was 10 and 6, might change it to 7 because 6 is a little too slow. Thank you fallout! I didn't know this was a thing in destiny and I will be paying more attention to the settings
Thank u man, im a controller player and im doin wayy better with this setting at first i thought that it wouldnt do much but it exceeded all my expectations
It absolutely works, and was the first thing I did when getting the new 'ps5' d2. It was the thing I have wanted forever. Shotgun speed look sensitivity would ruin every ADS weapon for me. Thank God for this change.
Lol that's the exact settings I found that felt the best back when Bungie 1st added these options and I'm still using them. I also recently changed my fov from 105 to 90 and that also helped just as much as going drop 75 to 105 did when the next gen versions first launched.
Thank you for these tips, im stuck in bed with a huge leg cast so I had to get a controller compatible with GeForce now on iPad (ended up with dual sense ps5). Huge learning curve bc Ive been using solely m+k for 10 years
I play controller and use 10 with 1.0, I feel messing with modifier really throws off my muscle memory switching from hip fire weapons to aim down site, and also trying to keep up with close quarters shotgunning with lower modifier than 1.0 is just a hard thing for me to accomplish. It sounds good to lower it for better primary, but it just messes with my brain.
It is very relieving to hear that someone else had that problem with the plastic SCUF controller paddles. Until the Pro came out, I was trying to find someone who could 3D print/turn an aluminum paddle for me - I have gone through 3 sets (mostly my left paddle I use for Jump/Boost). Using my Modern Warfare/Warzone experience as a guide, I start with the default Look Sensitivity and slowly creep up the scale; otherwise I feel like I am playing in a blender on PC. I have turned it two clicks up so far, but to stay with my clanmates, I have been mostly doing PVE and Gambit. I'm sure I'd turn it up a few notches for Crucible, but I don't know when we'd do that. I bet if they have a Crucible that happens in a Shipment Area, I could get one or two of them to go in... 😆
After going through 3 elite controllers and a Razr Chroma breaking I moved to 100% M&K. I would get frustrated and switch back and forth sometimes but knew it would be worth it. Funny that my settings are now the same as yours and everything feels way better but I admit I don’t snipe as much anymore

I didn't even know about this until I watched this video today. Thanks and happy holidays to everyone!
Hey, can you make a video where you ranked all available grenades and judge them by their total damage output, raw cooldown, ease of use and etc?
I just gotta say thanks for actually considering both. Love the video man!
Just imagine Shaxx shouting “SUUUII”
Thank you.
I have the exact same controller sensitivity settings in Halo. The assault rifle feels so good but the slower ads sensitivity makes it much more easier to follow opponents when firing. The best method I've found when it comes to these changes is to pre-aim by the hip, and then fine tune by ads
Hopefully more studios implement this kind of tuning into their games because its such a grand quality of life change and I can't imagine playing without them.
I still remember when I started on D1, I was playing with level 10 sensitivity 🤣 my friends couldn't understand how I functioned with it so snappy, then somewhere along the line it dropped to 3 and they wondered how I did it so slow, I think I've gradually worked it back up to 8 currently, I would change it and throw myself into Crucible for a day until I got the hang of it, next day jump up to the next level and suffer through it some more, rinse repeat (that's also how I taught myself to snipe in crucible in D1, I started sniping in Trials until I got good at it cause if I could Trials snipe I could do it any mode-- the sink or swim approach worked fairly well)
My biggest trick though is changing the reticle color. I found a lot of the time the blue or green reticles would get lost in the map, so I made mine magenta (favorite color, and it stands out on any map)
I'm so used to fps that I usually tune out the sights, but it can be handy when trying to precisely aim a GL or something with a arc shaped trajectory, or precision sniping
And kind of like how I would always test my sensitivity settings and how I taught myself to snipe competitively, I use Crucible as my testing grounds for new controller settings (mods and stuff I try out in pve since it's easier to test there) It forces me to adapt to the controller changes so I don't die as much, and the frustration just drives me to adjust quicker so I can return the ass kicking I just got dealt 😂 the added benefit of course being if you try it in pvp where your opponents can adapt as you do and force you to learn on the fly, you'll definitely be ready for the limited decision making of the enemy AI in pve or Gambit
Also playing gambit helps to tune into the changes
Technically isn't it a divider? Down to 50% of look sensitivity?
@@414pwz well every division is technically a multiplication and vice versa, so^^
@@414pwz it can be seen as either, but technically it is a multiplier due to it involving decimals
Thx dude! I’ve always felt the same about hand canons on controller. and this really help!
This is a great video. I've been telling my friends to mess with those settings. I currently use a 18 sensitivity and a 0.5 multiplier. It's great. Instant turn speed, pin point accuracy.
Keyboard or controller? I'm always around 19 sens. and 0.8 ADS (I use Crimson and a shoty) . Do you find 0.5 to be way better than 0.8?
thank you so much, I've been hitting more of my shots long distance because of this
FoV can also make a huge difference with a gun, pretty sure CoolGuy has a video on that. Drastically changes some guns like Crimson, I've gone down to 95 FoV and can feel a noticeable difference in some weapons
Do you play 95 fov all the time then? Rather then 105?
@@zombieslaya1985 yes and it didn't take long to getting used to either
@@Red790 I don't use hand cannons or crimson but I'm going to try it out
I messed up my settings recently and came back to this vid to get them set up again

@@bradyrice6631 underrated comment
This actually helped me a lot with Thorn which has been such a pain for me
I've never touched ADS sensitivity, but I was at 10 Look sensitivity for a while before the cap for that got bumped up to 20.
The complaints were from traction being needed on controller to be able to turn at all.
Might wanna try turning ads down to .5 or so. 1 is way too fast for me at 15 sens
No. We had our turn speed but it cost a mod slot. Especially dumb when they took away the bonus mobility. Bungo focusing on a minority of players at the detriment to the playerbase that made them makes me sick.
Never understood how people play on such high sensitivities. I’m still rocking a 5 since day 1
Thank you for omitting your typical " What-up you Nerds..." intro, thumbs up earned.
I feel that lower sens works better for me. I sure need to be much more aware of my movement and map positions but my accuracy is so on point that I often out ttk every weapon type with my Monte Carlo
3 sens squad!!
Thank you so much for this. As a casual player I always wondered what the difference was. Now I can experiment.
I do this for every game lol
Sensitivity matters a lot always mess around with it until it feels perfect!
Damn that video cut at 4.05 was awesome af
What
@@CatMandiano the look and ads sensitivity
This video is actually poggers, I havent had time to game recently so my shots have just been off. Lookin forward to giving this a shot!
"Nobody's 100% accurate in PvP"
Not true. I just fought a total gamer with 100% sniper accuracy
This video really did solve my aiming issues w/ controller. I three tap’d someone a bit ago and it just felt so odd lol, thanks.
When I bought a PS5, I went from 5/1, to 12/0.5 and it felt amazing with all weapon types. The increased FoV to 105 also made a huge impact to awareness.
I play at 105 as well but it makes your targets smaller
@@cia6911 Yeah, I have the same issue as well, really enjoyed the feeling of 105, at first, but then struggled against really good players in PvP, so now, currently I have moved back to 95, n it seems to be working out pretty well, Some folks should try that setting out n see if it can help with improving the experience.
Man !!! Way to go dude I was just messing around with this for the last three weeks and it has made my flicking on snipers and my handcannon flicks on controller wayyyy better . I was just going to release a video but you did it well and you explained it very well if I haven’t subbed yet I will now .
thank you fallout! im a recent migrant to pc from ps4 and am feeling completely lost on MnK. been practicing, but will play around with these in the meantime!
Thank you for this, deffinitely gonna try out tinkering with my settings
Yep first time I messed with this , I instantly noticed my aim improved dramatically. I used to snap in and be just slightly off to one side or the other . This corrected my issue .
I'm just impressed you all have the patience for peer to peer in the 2020s.
That guy who shot you while you were cat ear dancing is a legend
Thanks bud. I always enjoy your anatomy
This was exactly what I was looking for lol thanks man!
I’m an idiot… I never knew what ads modifier was. I thought it was lower = faster so I’ve had it at the very bottom since they released that setting for controller. I hope this improves my game some to raise it! Thanks fallout
that sensitivity man is perfect. thanks so much
Thanks for the clarification of the individual modifiers.
Hey, could you do a tier list for retired/sunset weapons?
I will definitely try this, your videos are always helpful. Keep,it up
Switched grenade and jump on controller and it was a huge game changer.
Best Destiny content creator Period. Another well thought out video! Thanks dude!
Love this. Made the change as soon as it came around. Upped my sensitivity to 16 from 8 when we got increased movement but then put the ADS at 0.5. My ads became second nature due to it being my previous look speed but my over all look speed increased
For the record, ADS sensitivity is not linear, 16 with a 0.5 isn't an 8 ADS speed but some where between 7.0-9.0
@@nexenojustice552 they said in a previous post.
Really starting to love your videos man, thanks for all the help and advice you give out :)
This video helped a lot, I’m having a blast!
5:49 That titan tanked 4 headshots without an overshield lol
I went to a high sens but low ads sens on cod, because the thought process is that high sense makes you faster to react to things, but a low one makes you more accurate. I think the sweet spot I found was 10 and 6, might change it to 7 because 6 is a little too slow. Thank you fallout! I didn't know this was a thing in destiny and I will be paying more attention to the settings
Thank u man, im a controller player and im doin wayy better with this setting at first i thought that it wouldnt do much but it exceeded all my expectations
this is the absolute best destiny 2 youtube channel
I had been complaining ab destinys low max sensitivity sense the dawn of time. I was so glad when they gave us more options.
Hell yeah. Been hoping for this since the vid abt halo control settings
It absolutely works, and was the first thing I did when getting the new 'ps5' d2. It was the thing I have wanted forever. Shotgun speed look sensitivity would ruin every ADS weapon for me. Thank God for this change.
Great vid... I recently switched to MnK... love to see what i should bind my keys to.
I immediately changed those settings as soon as I saw them, because of understanding their potential
If you turn up the turn while sprint scale you can turn while running faster too
I haven't tried pvp since the ability changes but this is something else I can add to the list of stuff to experiment with. great video glhf
A clickbait title that doesn't end up being clickbait? Only on Fallout's channel. Quality as always.
Lol that's the exact settings I found that felt the best back when Bungie 1st added these options and I'm still using them. I also recently changed my fov from 105 to 90 and that also helped just as much as going drop 75 to 105 did when the next gen versions first launched.
Setting that defines all ELITE guardians: Helmet OFF in public.
Thanks, these are the best settings I've tried
This was something I switched ASAP when it dropped. It increased my KD on PC Controller from .8 to 1.2! My settings are 12 and 0.5
Fallout slayin' AND capping zones! A true MVP!!!
I was just wondering about this information yesterday thank you.
I’ve never seen this properly described before, thank you.
Yea I literally just discovered this just a few weeks ago. Now seeing a video about it reassures my theory
After going through 3 elite controllers and a Razr Chroma breaking I moved to 100% M&K. I would get frustrated and switch back and forth sometimes but knew it would be worth it. Funny that my settings are now the same as yours and everything feels way better but I admit I don’t snipe as much anymore
