It is truly awe inspiring and completely amazing that technology allows us to be witness to such a special ceremony. I can’t believe how lucky we are to be able to experience their culture and celebrate the life of their king! May the Queen have a blessed reign
What a beautiful and deeply moving ceremony. Im balinese live in Bali Indonesia, a place where lots of ritual and meaningfull traditional ceremonies held. But still watching this makes me goosebump. My respect for Maori people and God bless you all.
Robb, the spiritual energy and ancestral connection is strong here. I could always tell Maori 's customs are essentially a blend of central and african traditional rites and cultures with a bit of indigenous southern african . Even the languages sound so familiar to me
@@ProximaCentauri88 what this tells me is that all those folk you mentioned are directly related to modern day Black people. they are just a "variant" .
This is a profound momentous occasion. It was the shots from the crowd that got me going. Seeing their emotional approval set me off as well. Ngāwai-hono- i-te pō is a fitting name for the next phase into our journey as te Māori. I feel confident that she will lead us well with our support.
The perfect dignified answer to the attempted division and demeaning of a people by those whose motivations are unworthy of consideration. Kia Kaha Kuini
Wow, beautiful ceremony; emotional, impactful, touching, intense. Thank you, Māori people, for sharing your cultural traditions with us. Sincere condolences for the loss of one great monarch and many blessings to the next distinguished leader as she begins her reign.
I love not being a maori and owning land that used to belong to the maoris. They will never get it back. It is a great feeling to live on land that used to belong to the maoris. They can sing their songs and do their little haka dance thing but it won´t change a thing. They will never get the land back.
Good on her. I think she is a brilliant choice. Level headed, ambitious, and well bred. She is humble, with a feisty attitude. I think the future of our people is in strong hands. Bless her, and may she rule for a long time.
"a brilliant choice" There wasn´t much of a choice to make. Look in to why niether of her two older brothers were chosen. And if she is to rule for a long time then she will have to go on a diet and not overeat like most maoris do. But then again, being a queen she has more right than the rest of the maoris to blame her overweight on colonisation.
Real mana. News 24 headline: "Shock over Maori infant brutality" They have been scalded, burned with cigarettes, raped, had bones broken and been beaten unconscious, sometimes to death. Horrific cases of Maori youngsters - some under two years of age - being tortured, abused and KILLED BY MEMBERS OF THEIR OWN FAMILIES Among the grisly headlines that have dominated the nation's media over recent weeks are stories of a 28-month-old Maori girl in a coma after suffering severe head injuries, a broken arm, cuts, bruises and cigarette burns over most of her body. The toddler's 52-year-old grandmother was being held in prison on assault charges. Police in the central North Island town of Carterton are investigating the death a week ago of 23-month-old Maori girl Hinewaoriki Karaitiana-Matiaha who was sexually abused, scalded with hot liquid and beaten before being taken to hospital by relatives. The child, who was put in the care of her grandmother by the Child, Youth and Family Service after consultations with the toddler's family just short of her second birthday, was dead on arrival at Masterton Hospital late on Sunday, July 23. And last week, a coroner in the east coast town of Tauranga found that two-month-old Marcus Te Hira Grey died from a brain haemorrhage following a severe beating by his father. These cases follow the recent release of a report into the gruesome killing last April of four-year-old James Whakaruru, beaten to death by his stepfather for failing to call him Dad. The stepfather had been jailed once for assaulting the boy, but the youngster endured a lifetime of horrific beatings, despite being under the eye of various child welfare agencies, and his hellish existence went unnoticed. The proportion of extreme cases of brutality towards children among the Maori population - which makes up about 15 percent of New Zealand's 3.8 million citizens - is far higher than for any other ethnic group.
Would be nice to have a comprehensive report on what she is like and what her policies are, without hours of ceremonies, for the NZ public interested in what is happening.
I have faith that she will not be managed by elite tribal Maori or TPM. I hope she treats everyone equally and brings unity to all NZers. I have faith that she will not persue a separate government as this is not what her father intended. I wish her well in following her father's footsteps.
With the greatest of respect (I do love the uploads by the way) but can you please direct me to the concrete solid end wins, which closes these arguments shut. I see many uploads of what appears as a victory(s) Where the bailiffs & who ever else they have brought have to leave the property but why are you not recording the parts where they finalise and they don't and never will return. It's great firing all this legal knowledge at me and probs others and yeh at that moment in time it looks correct and it works but we never find out if it really is correct. Also Banaman please will you explain more or get the people in the upload to explain more. We do get a bit of explanation but for me I'd like more. Why, how, what, when, where etc etc along with all the legal stuff. Many thanks

Monarchs are not politicians; te Kuini's past roles will not necessarily determine her new ones - in which ceremony plays a major role.

She holds no power.
