Provide good food and vitamins to thd mama's and let them feed their babies. Handfeeding is difficult as you must know the formula, warmth of food etc. Let the mothers feed naturally...uou will get good healthy babies.

for us its simple to make food to raise baby birds,just buy in a pet shop BUT my dad used to make it for his birds(tropical,canary,parakeet etc.),basic is boiled egg,breadcrum and calcium(grinded dried eggshel),mix it let it dry and grind it very fine for baby birds mixed with water (like porridge) not so fine for the adult birds(no water),you can add some honey to it and or vitamins : for young starlings crows blackbirds etc.you can mix and grind soaked dogfood in it

Hi Dexter, I wondering why you think of Hand feeding. Normally the cockatiels are able to do this in their own. An difference I have observed in feeding: we Provide for the cockatiel and the african lovebirds sunflower seeds to enrich their diet. And we serve them so called eggfood. This is especially helpfull for the newborn Babies. Maybe it can be bought also in your place ready Made. Some Brand names are CeDe and Quiko. It's a kind of raw Powder. If you make it a little soak with some water, they will love it more. In Case you can not buy or afford you could Experiment with your own eggfood: Mix boild and scrumbled eggs with crumbled old dried bread. With Kind regards and big Respekt from Germany, Joerg

I have Cockatiel birds and I tried 50/50 to make sure that it will become Tamed. I handfeed them and after that I return it to the nestbox. And if you want to train the birds like cockatiels I suggest to Handfeed them in 100% with Sakto formula or buson formula.

For me Sir Dexter much better po na hayaan niyo na lang po sila sa parents. 1month lang naman po malaki na po agad yang cockatiel at mas mabilis sila lumaki once ung magulang ang nagsusubo. Marami naman po kayo alaga madali lang po yan dumami lalo na po ngayon breeding season na. Tapos po bigyan niyo po sila ng vitamins na essential. For cockatiel and lovebirds na po yun atleast twice a week po ang pagbibigay..

Check the bady every night weather the parents feed there baby properly or ...if not then feed them ...this will reduce baby morality and the baby will grow fast....and the most important thing they will not be afraid of humans

Don't waste your time making that filter. It's not going to work. Dexter tried to make a giant air stone. The air flow is to small for it to work properly. Next weeks video is going to show us that it didn't work. 🤦♂️

You should handrear the smallest chicks in the nest only as they may not be getting enough food from the mama.also sometimes it's cause of the bigger chicks don't allow it to be fed so perhaps if you can possibly do a few feeding for them daily it can help, Also when you handrear you will need a safe heat source , perfect temperature for the food aswel as the Avi plus feed for handrear not sure what brands you have in your country
dexter safety glasses are very cheap. please get them for your staff operating angle grinder.
dexter i advise that you handfeed 100 percent reason 1 for fast breeding reason 2 you can sell a tamed birds much as the not tamed reson 3 for less mortality if its your first time handfeeding make sure that you put ligths ang if your going to feed them you wait till thier crop is empty

If you handle the babies often you do not need to hand feed. By handling them often they will be friendly.

Hi Dexter, greetings from Indonesia! Thank you for the good videos! I have been raising cockatiels for a while now. Now I focus on whitefaces cause they are more expensive and harder to breed. A whiteface cockatiel in Jakarta can cost about 2million (USD 138). Here is a simple guide.
1) incubator keep at 37.4 and leave it for 3 days after hatch. keep the baby inside the incubator with a small bowl/container (don't worry about first, second or third egg. Just lower the temp to 37 by day 4 of the first egg hatch).
2) Handfeeding baby birds are not hard, use Nutribird A21, I believe Philippines may sell the same brand as ours. Kaytee is too dry for our taste. I recommend Bird Squawk's channel ruclips.net/video/hnmielomj7Q/видео.html
3) slowly lower temp to 34 ish by day 7 and keep it there.
Now why would we remove babies from their parents you may ask? In my experience, tame birds don't really make great parents, they tend to abandon second to thrid eggs and give up on them altogether focusing just on the first hatch.

You can feed all kind of fruit and vegetable you also eat. Be careful with these things when buying from Supermarket : they may contain too much pestcide or fertilizer (Nitrit), especially salad. Better buy from farmer. And you can feed small plants from the Garden most often considered to be weed but which are so good, e.g. Dandelion. Joerg from Germany

The only scary part in hand feeding a baby bird is the windpipe when using a syringe. It can go to the lungs and kill the bird. So the placement of the tip of syringe is very important. 2-3weeks old are the better ones. It's fun to have a tamed and trained bird and the other birds will eventually be hand tamed if the see the tamed bird come to your hand in command or with a food❤️

I am no expert but I once put a breeding box, just a shoebox, in my parents Cockatiel cage and they went right at it. First clutch was five eggs and they did what came naturally to them. All survived without any intervention or special feed. It was an amazing experience.
