And the defense wasn't on the field mentally...at all. Russ isn't part of the defense that allows 70 points to happen. But the team might not believe in him and are tanking the games to get rid of him.

    I watch the whole game. The browns Nevis offense looked great first quarter but after the defense gives up 4 td on 4 possessions it’s hard for any offense to make up for that. The Broncos become one dimensional so it was harder to complete passes.

    I played small town highschool football and the most we ever gave up was 45 points. It was an ass whooping, no doubt, we got merked 45-10. But never, in my life, ever, have I even pushed 60 let alone 70. That is fucking awful. That means your defense are literally 2 or 3 steps below the competition. I never thought I'd see that in the modern NFL. When a "blowout" in the NFL is considred 4 touchdowns. Sometimes you see the 45-10 game or a 52-17. But that's legit the biggest margin of victory I've ever seen in the NFL If you get beat by 4 touchdowns in the NFL it's bad enough. But getting beat by 50..... That's SEVEN touchdowns. That's an extreme ass whooping in a highschool football game, let alone a NFL game were both teams are fielding mega millionaire professional athletes. That's insane.

    It's not just that they're fast, it's that they stay fast for a long period of time and defenses get gassed. Its how wolves bring down prey. It's not one fast wolf chasing you but several in relay. If you're a star on defense you don't have to just chase-down Tyreke on one play and Waddle (even though he wasn't active yesterday) on another play, but you're also having to chase down Robby Chosen and Raheem Mostert and Devon Achane. And then you hear your defensive coordinator tell you quote "why aren't you getting pressure on the quarterback". Because they are gassed.

  • @jelliebird37
    @jelliebird37 9 месяцев назад +1

    Chris is right, you can’t just start firing people after a devastating beatdown like this. If I was in Sean Payton’s shoes, in fact, I would calmly acknowledge how the players are feeling. They might be angry, embarrassed, shocked; some of them are undoubtedly reeling with self doubt and self deprecation. It all boils down to grief. It’s a “loss” akin to a death or, failing a class or breaking up with your girlfriend. I’m would acknowledge that and - this is just me - I would give them an extra day off, Tuesday, to regroup mentally, get away from the game, spend time with their families, get some emotional support. It’s like going a calf strain a little time to heal before you get back at it. Losing that one day of drills won’t hurt them anywhere near as it will help them to be ready to perform like they’re capable of. That’s just my take on it.

    This defense is no where near 100%, there’s no Baron Browning, no Justin Simmons, no Frank Clark, no K’Waun Williams, no Jonas Griffith and now no Josey Jewell and that’s just the starters, we also have key backups like Caden Sterns and Pj Locke who provide a lot of depth to our secondary that are not available due to injury as well. We’re currently playing with half of our original starting defense in Randy Gregory, Zach Allen, DJ Jones, Mike Purcell, Jonathan Harris & Pat Surtain and it doesn’t even matter bc everyone but Allen is still trying to learn the scheme and have all looked like shells of what they were the last 2-3 seasons, plus they have a bunch of trash ass backups, 2 of which are late round rookies in Sanders and Mustipher and the other 4 are just trying to learn a new defense while also trying to learn what it takes to be a starter in the league bc they’re used to 2nd&3rd string roles. Not to mention we’re missing our real best WR now for the past two years in Tim Patrick as well as our real best TE in Greg Dulcich, and you know sir fumbles a lot (Sutton) and Mr Butterfingers (Jeudy) aren’t helping the situation, surprisingly the best WRs and the two dudes who have shown the most heart out of any of the skill players on the entire roster is Marvin Mims & Brandon Johnson. Cushenberry, Bolles, Sutton, Jeudy and Williams all need cut/not resigned at the end of this season, they have all been injury prone and or shown 0 improvement and it’s time to let them go and stop wasting time, money and coaching on 5 duds.

    If the Broncos lose to the Bears next weekend, the Walton family should actually consider buying out Payton's contract and send him packing. I'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear what the Broncos players really think of their new coach. Giving up 70 points tells me Payton hasn't won over this team one bit.
    If the Broncos lose to both the Bears and Jets, they probably should contract the franchise and forfeit the rest of the season.
