  • These moderate core strengthening exercises are a progression from my beginner core exercises ( • 5 Simple Core Strength... ), and these intermediate core exercises are a great next step once the beginner ones become too easy. Core exercises are very important to have a healthy and stable back as well as the whole body. The core is not only the front, sides, and back of the trunk, but it is also the pelvic floor. Great video Dr Jo! Easy to follow instructions that can be applicable for many! My favorite exercise which I believe is greatly underutilized is the side plank! So great for the core, hips and lower back muscles for the purpose of strengthening! Thank you again!!

    Great video. It wasn’t mentioned but I think it’s implied that you work both sides of your side plank…. I mention this since some people believe that the earth is flat.

    What if you don’t have the ROM in one shoulder to do the swim exercise. Any recommendations?

    • @AskDoctorJo
      @AskDoctorJo  Месяц назад +1

      It kind of depends on what the lack of ROM is from (and if there is any motion to modify the position). The arm can be bent (more of a stop sign position).

    Hi, would you recommend this for someone with a prolapse grade 1? I checked your pelvic floor video and I'm also practicing those but want to start exercising my core. I'm not new to exercise, but I'm new to exercise with the prolapse.

      Unfortunately, I don't know that answer since I can't evaluate you. Everyone is different. If there is any way you can see a physical therapist in person, they should be able to help you figure out a specific program for you and help answer your questions.
