- here is another remix! started this one a while back but only just now got around to making all the visuals for it. this one included a lot of modding and tweaking and video shenanigans to pull off, even though it may not look it. I hope you like it!

the music video for the song I used is highly suggestive and based around relationships and I kind of tried to carry that theme over into this, as dumb as that may sound. it's hard to go too crazy with theming but I tried to include lots of minigames with couples and the occasional innuendo... got some primates and basketballs in there too.

They did this once or twice in the actual games' remixes and I always loved when they did. No surprise fruit took that concept and ran with it.
The fact that the girl in Double Date is outright missing in the end and the female voice-over for Exhibition Match goes missing immediately after cutting to that game?
The fact that you don't make an input in the end, because... the less we know, the better?

You sent me down the pipeline of “this rhythm game kind of looks cool” to “I make custom remixes for fun” to “I’m buying ADOFAI just so I can chart rhythm heaven songs in it.” I’ve been having so much fun over the past few months and I have you to thank. This is the first time I hear of ADOFAI and it instantly went on my Steam wishlist.
ADOFAI is one of my favorites ever. It would be kinda cool if fruitman tried it
One thing that absolutely kills me is the ending portion with Double Date.
Everyone points out that the girl is gone and that's valid but *the weasels are gone too.*
He has no reason to keep sitting there and kicking the ball. But he does it anyway.
For the reason I'd like to cite the song itself.
"She said, 'It's not now or never, wait ten years, we'll be together'/I said, 'Better late than never, just don't make me wait forever'"
And later on, "I was doing fine without you/'Til I saw your eyes turn away from mine"
He's doing this because he wants the routine. He wants the love of his partner, sure- but he also wants the things that he did with her, because in the end that's what validated their relationship. He thinks if he keeps doing this, eventually she'll come and sit down with him as he does it.
But she won't. She's watching the baseball game with someone else now.
EDIT: I, in a frankly idiotic display, called the weasels "gophers." Weasels made less sense but this game doesn't make sense anyway, so that's a bit disappointing.
It's so fun to watch the progression from Grayfruit not knowing what Rhythm Heaven is to having beaten every single game and putting out banger remixes like this.

I’m not sure if all the theming and references I’m seeing were intended, but I love them all the same. The constant couples at the beginning turning to trios, or one single guy, or far away in the clouds, and the constant anticlimax of hitting the ball, that satisfaction going to someone else’s game. And the hotter wrestler. That one’s important.
I like how at the start he's the fish taking her bait but when the wrestler comes and there's the sex innuendos a new fish is taking her bait
Oh my God. The girl being gone from the bench at the end? Incredible. One of my absolute favorite games and a song I've been listening to a lot lately while going through a hard time, this was unexpectedly meaningful for me. Thanks for that.
Have no idea how I missed that the bench girl was taken out for the last one.
Wonder if there's any other shenanigans that I missed...

The fake outs into other games are SO GOOD, even matching the right button presses. Loved the implementation of Bossa and Nova as well, didn't expect that to work as well as it did.
The way this remix not only was a absolute bop but has inferred story telling us astonishing

those transitions between some of the games were just delicious, i LOVE when remixes use the cues from one game to lead into another. the last note not having a response to its call was also brilliant. amazing work
for some reason seeing the boy alone at the end makes me emotional? it feels wrong seeing him there alone after playing the series for 9 years
I love grabbing a controller and fake playing along to these to get a feel of how difficult they would be in the actual game, amazing work as always gray.
3:06 is my favourite part of this whole thing, if this were a real mix in the base game then I bet hitting that samurai slash would be satisfying as HELL. well done mr fruit man :)

This reminds me of the Smash montages which got me into fruitman
Which were never really about smash but the impeccable matching of music and action, glad to see fruitman return to what is obviously a passion

The first transition from Exhibition Match into Bossa Nova might be one of my favourite transitions I've seen in a custom remix like this. It's so smooth and feels super good to play along to. Love it

I think the fact you showed a lot of restraint in this makes it so much better. You could have easily overdone the rhythms, but you didn't and as a result it just feels so solid

@@shanecastleberry4176 not only that, but at least in my head, it cutting when the person hits the ball, and it cutting to a game with a something going away to me implies that the more they person puts into being successful, the more they push away the people around them.

This has legit become my preferred way of listening to this song. The transitions between rhythm structures with those SATISFYING ass Boxing rhythms are beautiful, and the Batter separating the different parts of the song; especially at the end; is just amazing honestly. IMO this is your best Custom Remix (though I do love Buttercup and Tieduprightnow)

I don't wanna sound like a downer or anything but i think if the rhythm sounds were a little louder than the vocals it would really feel as if it was an actual level.

Awesome remix! There is something incredibly satisfying about the little repeated motif with Figure Fighter and Catch of the Day, and the way their 2-beat cues are slightly offset relative to the measure. Overall fantastic gameplay groove on an excellent song
