I have been to the ship centre, it was well worth the visit and so interesting to see all this stuff for myself.

Christopher Columbus may have used a similar ship when he sailed to Iceland in 1477. It would make sense to use a clinkerbuilt vessel for his arctic voyage which was compatible with the local shipbuilding knowledge in Iceland at the time.
