This is some of the tightest House of the Dead play I've ever seen. This series is known as one of the most difficult light gun games around and you nailed so many sections flawlessly.
The House of the Dead 2 is a classic Sega-light gun shooter that found itself perfectly suited to the Wii - it's a stellar port, and is just as violent, as difficult, and as hilariously poorly acted as you remember. I love it!
This, HotD: OK, the Resident Evil Chronicle games, and Ghost Squad were awesome on the Wii and I hoped it would be the return of Light-Gun games as they are great for some random fun especially with a friend. Wish I could have found this back in the day when I had money on me along with Ghost Squad to have all 5 of the Light-Gun games.
Kinda funny why they didn't include HoTD 1 on the disc as well. I couldn't taken up that much disc space. Considering they were able to put all 6 of the original Metal Slugs on the same sized disc. Great port however and you get 3 which hadn't been ever ported to a console at all for some reason. What would really rock is if they put all of the games on the Switch somehow, at the very least the WiiU that way they can squeeze that last bit of life out of the damn thing.
Larry Laffer Apparently Sega no longer has the original code, so without reverse engineering and/or rebuilding the game from the ground-up, we'll probably only see it if Sega ever sees fit to wrap it with an emulator for the platform they release it on. That, and while the Wii could easily handle an arcade-perfect port, I doubt it could emulate the Model 2 or Saturn hardware at a playable frame rate
That's why you make copies and be careful with your source code. That way you don't have to start from scratch. I should know had Sierra not lost my 4th game it wouldn't be the Lost Floppies. Instead it would've Leisure Suit Larry 4 Go Upper Midwest Yound Laffer, a game where I would've epxlored the great "sights" the Upper Midwest had to offer. Alas that game wil never get made.
Yeah wish I could've made that prequel game. It would've been Leisure Suit Larry 1/2 Larry Goes Back to Basics. It would've a story driven story told by me in storybook fashion as I entered the spaceship on my way to the 8th Adventure, Lust in Space. What would've been cool is the game would've came with a paperback "or Hardcover if you bought the special edition" of my early history and previous adventures. Alsas that will probably never happen but who knows.
Larry Laffer That sounds awesome. Some crossovers with SQ I'm guessing? Iirc your second adventure had the Sierra character factory room when you died, right? That, and imagine how much fun you'd have on the planet of Amazon looking women!
Yeah acually in one Scene I battle Roger Wilco in a epic game of Super Bomber Chicken a Bombermanesque Space Chicken Spin off. Oh Amazons fun fact about that level is it would've played out as old fashion grapic text adventure. Also one level would've played like a Maniac Mansion type SCUMM adventure with the aunthentic control shceme.
I keep having Phantasy Star Online flashbacks: the first level imp's laugh was reused for the poison lily in PSO, and the gold coin "shing" is identical to the hidden mine pop up sound. All these years and somehow I never noticed before.
I think they're actually remaking HotD 1 & 2, but it's likely gonna be for the Switch given you could use the Joycons as pointers like the Wiimote was for the Wii port of HotD 2 & 3.
This brings me back to when I used to play this with my older brother on the Nintendo Wii. I don't remember it being this short, but we died a whole lot and had to restart, which is probably why. We did it over and over and over until we finished using 1 credit. Shit was so difficult to do. Idk if 2 players was easier or not. I can't remember if more zombies spawned as a result of 2 players using the game/if one of you died, a credit was needed, despite one being alive. Hard AF either way.
This is such good gameplay! My best friend and I tried playing without crosshairs recently and we didn't make it past the magician! (Didn't help that he kept accidentally killing civilians)
Just played this in time for Halloween. The car section after Kuarl felt like it glitched when the two guys jump on your vehicle, I died with not even a second to react to them. Playing on Wii though not emulator. Still an amazing game.
Those sounds on the wii remote jesos Christ that’s scary as hell. 3:02 But if keep switching games, the zombie sounds will get more and more terrifying. But if you’re on the highlighted game, it will play the zombie sounds every 10 seconds.
Liked the OG games better than Overkill as Overkill's story is written by somebody with a severely bad parental issues while the OG THOTD is basically RE but skip all the inventory management and backtracking. It was one of the two major inspiration for Left 4 Dead i think.
I remember this I played it with my Father a few times. Never managed to beat it, we only reached the driving part and died at the Boss before the Headquarter.
Even though you used 1 continue and had some hits, this run was excellent. You must have had some serious practice with knowing your aiming locations, because your shots were so accurate. House of the Dead 2 is a lot harder than the first game, considering its length and fast-paced action it has. I've completed the first HotD in the arcade without continuing, but 2 can be a pain because it's easy to miss hostages and get hit so much. BTW, since the crosshair was off, did you record this from a real Wii?
+Conversus Wears Vans [Paul P.] Thanks! Yeah i think for me this is the hardest one in the series, or maybe equal to the 4th. It's stupid hard near the end. This was recorded with Dolphin, but I had the computer plugged into the TV and I was using a Wii-mote (paired to the pc). I put in so many hours on both this and the DC versions when they both came out, otherwise I think I'd have chewed through all of my credits pretty quickly lol. I've never been able to finish this one a single credit, that's for sure.
Didn't HOTD2 has different endings depending how many NPC you saved? Was this the best ending? I remember the worst ending was you meeting a group of zombies outside
Hanferd It had several endings. I believe this is the best ending. It's the best one I've had, but I suppose there might be a better one. If there is, I'm not good enough to have seen it!
The best ending is when Rogan Appears at the end. The normal ending is when the people thank you. And the bad ending is when goldman appears like a zombie.
Shoot the chandelier on the first level it droppes an item, also at the well shoot the 3 zombies then shoot the bucket droppes an item has tobe in original mode, your welcome.
the voice acting sucks nut the game is a master peace even tho the sega dreamcast version is more like the arcade version woth the blood being green ooz
Doesn't appear to be as gloomy and immersive as the first one. It's probably due to the setting not being a laboratory mansion. The bosses are also cooler on the first one. Well at least this game has Magician. Voice acting is high quality as always, lol.
@@NintendoComplete I think he/she meant the official Nintendo zapper which can be found for 20~40 USD online. Not worth the buy, imo. Other than the price, the zapper is also kinda awkward to hold with one hand. I haven't played this game before but I'm guessing you don't need a nunchuk for it..? You can find the generic one handed guns for hella cheap, and comes in black, too.
@@lemons2300 I know, that's what I meant. A local shop that I got to sells them for $7. I bought a replacement for mine from there. I like it for some games. Since it's biggest and you can hold it with 2 hands, I find that my right wrist doesn't get as tired and achy using it for long times as it does using the Wiimote only

Lol I did it when I was like 5
That's not what "tightest" means, you spacker.

My lord I just bought it a couple of weeks ago, and even playing on easy mode makes HOTD 2 difficult.
It's the zombie apocalypse but the cat is grooming itself at 9:50 - "I don't give a f***!!!"

like G did?
If you really want to be badass, play the game 2 player mode with a Wii Zapper in each hand.
tried it before and your arms get tired real quick

I always liked this series. I remember in Typing of the Dead they used weird keyboard proton backpacks instead of guns.
